  1. Reliable sources ? I'm still clinging onto JDT only coming because there was some transfer budget available
  2. Got to factor in 5 subs next season. Makes it easier to carry dack. Off on the hour or impact sub so he doesn't have to do it for 90 mins.
  3. Now the big hitters are moving on I think I'd much prefer to go for the young up an coming manager than the more experienced yet hasn't done anything for 5+ years manager who will most likely appoint now. I'd accept Ainsworth but I'm quite intrigued by Manning at Mk Don's. If we end up with Pardew I might try to get a refund on my season ticket and go match by match.
  4. 100% something dodgy there. Like you say he had no right to be anywhere near that pitch.
  5. For me the worst player i've ever seen play for rovers. It's the fact he played only 45 mins that means he never gets brought up on these kind of lists
  6. Let's be honest the sporting director should already be in place. They've had enough time to prepare for this.
  7. He got 3 goals and 10 assists from centre mid this season. That's a good return especially when he didn't really do it much in the second half of the season. Some will focus on the negative but I'll miss watching him personally, he was good to watch on his day.
  8. I also remember that derby side being shockingly bad before he got sacked. However if you look at the rest of his managerial career it's got some positives. Won the league (3 times) and Cup with psv and got them to last 16 of champions league. Fenerbache and derby look like disasters though. Wouldn't be my 1st choice but wouldn't start panicking if we did appoint him.
  9. Edun isn't a championship centre mid We already knew this but today is just ramming it home
  10. Hes had a few injuries now hasn't he. A bit concerning
  11. Kaminski Nyambe Van Hecke Wharton Pickering Dolan Travis Buckley Giles Dack Brereton
  12. I want to hear more info about Darren Mowbray, what's his involvement in the Hedges transfer?
  13. : “I debate every week what system to go with. “I’d say three of our most consistent players have been the back three. “You couldn’t say that Lenihan, van Hecke and Wharton have been paramount to our success this year, but to leave one of them out and to play a back four, it’s a difficult decision for me to make. “I always feel ‘let’s try and keep a clean sheet, see if we can nick a goal, win 1-0, and if we can if need to change it, we can always change it as we did at half time and the goals started to come’. Some of Mowbrays problems highlighted in this post match interview The back 5 worked well when we had a fully fit brereton and khadra providing counter attacking options. The second half of this season perfectly highlights mowbrays often 'fixed mentality'. In mowbrays head this is the plan and we can't deviate from it, last season it was passing possession football on bad pitches when results had dried up. 18/19 it was sit deeper and hoofball. It's gally on the wing for years, it's Rothwell not being trusted on the wing, it's whichever midfielder is a false 9 (holtby and Buckley) that's there role in the team. He could adapt now but he doesn't because that's what the rule is, this is how we do things (until we don't). Next week we will likely either go 5 at the back or start Lenihan at right back. Why? Because he says it there, he can't make the tough decision. The 3 Centre half's have played well but the team needs the change and if he gives us the change we will get lenihan in place of an actual right back because he likes square pegs in round holes and nyambe has always been expendable to that trait. We need to win games now, I'm not sure keep it tight and hope for the best is the best formula. Whichever formation we play we have to impress ourself on the opposition, I find the suggestion of doing the opposite quite defeatist but perhaps that's just me.
  14. Hes got 8 assists not 7 and a quick look shows that to be the 8th highest in the league. Giles has 10 assists but only 1 of them has been for us I believe. My point is. 8 assists is a good return at this stage of the season. He has clearly been more productive this season.
  15. 7 assists is pretty good. The player in the Premier league with the most assists is on 10 for reference. Not that common that we have a player with 10+ assists in a championship season. The only one I can think of is Conway.
  16. Kaminski Nyambe Van Hecke Wharton Pickering Travis ? Dolan Dack Khadra Gallagher ? - Buckley or Rothwell for a more creative option, davenport or edun if you want a bit more energy and solidity Brereton off the bench between 45-60 mins
  17. I remember Paul inces last game away at Wigan. Roberts came on as a sub on the right wing and we all saw it as evidence he wasn't up to and or lost the plot. Mowbray has played Gally wide right since the back end of the 16/17 season (with a couple of years absent in the middle) and its barely ever worked. Factor how the signing was funded is on its own worth taking him down at least 1 mark out of 10.
  18. I frequently attend games / discuss rovers with a very pro mowbray fan, fair to say we've had big disagreements about his ability and his future over the last few years. Now around Xmas/new year time the assumption was that even someone like me (a mowbray critic) believes that he deserves a new contract. However my stance was always wait until the end of the season. And look at us now, all we needed to do was revert back to a mid table side until the end of the season and we wouldve made the playoffs and then he would've had a strong case for a new contract. Weve gone at about 1 point a game in 2022 (relegation form) and baring a change in form we are dropping out the playoffs and could realistically finish 11th or 12th. The only way he should stay now for me is if he wins the playoffs. The minute playoffs are gone I'd let him go / put him on gardening leave.
