  1. I agree with him. If you look at the goals we weren't played through they were 2 individual errors and poor defending from a corner.
  2. Thought moran was very poor in the final third. I don't particularly rate markanday but we're trying to find goals and he can finish better than some of the other options. Really it's a case of rotating the deck chairs but you can't suggest right sided forward who we didn't sign in the window on the teamsheet.
  3. Essentially you are correct. The positive is we create lots of chances and beyond that get into good areas and make the wrong decisions. The hope is that Ennis and siggurdson stay fit and are the difference makers. Its a long shot but that's what I'm holding onto.
  4. New keeper Brittain. Carter Hyam. Pickering Travis. Wharton. JRC Markanday. Leonard. Szmodics
  5. The way we play we leave ourselves vulnerable on the break. But the goals we conceded today weren't really due to us being gung ho aggressive. They were: A penalty that came out of nothing. A half cleared corner shot through And Carter giving the ball away in a really dangerous area trying to force a pass that wasn't on.
  6. In the blackburn end there a kiosk where they can sell exclusively Amstell (I think). It wasn't open. Surely you funnel the half time pinters through there?
  7. Wahlstadt Buckley. Gamble. Wharton. Pickering Tronstad. Garrett Markanday. Moran. Gilsenan Leonard
  8. Without over sharing it was pretty sudden relating to an ongoing health issue I believe.
  9. Overall a fantastic result with a lot of grit shown. Wasn't the best performance I've seen from some of them but can't fault the effort. Watford for all their possesion didnt trouble us as much as they should. I think JDT was spot on with his approach to this, so many times we got into good positions attacking their back line on the break which we mostly wasted. Player wise: Pears made a couple of key saves Solid central defence particularly Hyam. Brittain I rate more than others on here, I think he's our most balanced full back and I predict him to be 1st choice at either rb or LB for the remainder of the season. Scott Wharton had a solid cameo to see out the game. Travis worked hard with his classic shithousery antics. Wharton showed his class in moments. Wasn't Szmodics best game. Pleased to see Hedges score a quality goal as he is very useful in the middle third of the pitch. Dolan - best thing I can say is he did his defensive work well, he's regressing and it's a big worry. He's had this chance at the start of the season to nail a place down and he's doing the opposite. I'm surprised he's not signed whatever contract we've put in front of him given his current form. As others have said he looks to have bulked up to the detriment of his game. Moran- some encouraging signs towards the end. Gally - better option than Leonard atm, still frustrates me. Leonard - I see a player in there but it's clear he isn't ready atm and ideally he'd come out now and drop back to the under 21s. He's not physically ready, he needs to improve his core strength to hold defenders off.
  10. Not been mentioned on here but Carter had been on a major run forward less than 30 seconds before they scored, he actually missed a good chance. He's likely out of position because he's knackered himself out bombing forward and getting back in. It's a lack of concentration by him caused by essentially over committing at 1-1.
  11. Have you never seen the younger Wharton?
  12. Mixing it up is obviously the key. You can see through our 1st what we are trying to do. Get it to Wharton in a dangerous area with 2 runners to his flank creating an overload. It becomes very predictable to defend against once the opposition have been bit by it. You'd think them pulling men out of the box to combat it would help us in the middle of the box for a cross too.
  13. So unproductive yet we scored one of our 2 goals from them....
  14. I often think the same thing with Hedges, he looks great but has no real thrust. He links up well with people was great in the middle third but he wasted some good opportunities to put a cross or shot in. One chance he had where he could've cut across the defender and got in on goal or forced a foul where he didn't quite go for it which I feel sums him up a bit. He's a bit too safe and lacks a right footed cross or shot that would make him a real threat. Was better than the other 2 wingers on today's showing and should probably start next week but that right wing is a prime area for recruitment. Also Brittain is consistently giving the manager something to think about. He's a good player.
  15. Pretty sure that's what Adam Wharton was booked for after being fouled in our own half. Fair enough if you ask me. It's going to be a painful bedding in process but it'll benefit the game in the long run I just we learn quicker than the Rotherham players did today.
  16. So would most but JDT obviously knows better!
  17. Tried to watch the game on Saturday from Italy. Said it was being broadcast there. Was forced into buying a monthly pass. Then got the message that it wasn't available in my area. Emailed to complain, response I got back said it was available in italy and didn't answer the question. A baffling service.
  18. Pears Brittain. Barnes. Wharton. Batty Garrett. Buckley Markanday. Hedges. Gilsenan Ennis
  19. With the condition that ennis and Sigurðsson arrived in coupled with the lack of recent movement in transfer for another attacker I'm expecting a slowish start to the season. How well the season goes will largely depend on how well we recruit in the coming weeks. If the funds come in and that allows us to say sign a striker and loan a decent winger then that could be enough. I don't think we are far off being a good side in this league.
  20. Kaminksi JRC Carter. Hyam. Pickering Tronstad. Wharton Hedges. Szmodics. Dolan Leonard Subs: Pears, Wharton, Brittain, Batty, Travis, Buckley, Gilnesan, Markanday, Ennis
  21. Disagree on Markanday. He's working hard but doesn't look he'll make it to me. He isn't quick enough.
  22. Travis should've scored. Got hit on the break and conceded. Fine margins
  23. Who played where across the midfield was a flat 3 or the usual 4-2-3-1?
  24. Kaminski Jrc. Carter. Hyam. Pickering Tronstad. Wharton Sigurdson. Szmodics. Dolan Ennis
