  1. Maybe Walton will be loan to buy? Either way its pretty underwhelming.
  2. I hope some of the selections yesterday were more about getting certain players game time rather than what team is likely to start the first game. I know Mowbray has suggested that the first team will play together after todays game but it still does make me worry. Travis and Rothwell would be first on the team sheet in midfield for me, I just hope he doesn't revert to type. If he drops Rothwell for Downing or Armstrong i'd be so annoyed, it'd be like he learned nothing from last season at all.
  3. Looks the usual 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1. Leutwiler flapping all over the place as usual
  4. Does anyone know which players we are looking to offload? If we end up with 2 centre backs and 2 keepers and maybe Charlie Adam we’re going to have a massive squad
  5. Its so bad I can't stop laughing I can't believe somebody okayed that, hwoever did could do with firing. One day they'll try the halves on the away shirt and it'll be the most popular kit we've had in years.
  6. He’s 6’5 that’s encouraging enough for me
  7. This is how I am choosing to interpret what Tony said. Mainly because it makes the most sense
  8. Downing Travis Johnson Rothwell - team 1 Dack Graham Bennett Smallwood Evans Armstrong - team 2 Gallagher Brereton Plus Davenport, Chapman, Nuttall. Might as well start finding a loan move for the under 23 lads as the are way down the pecking order rightly or wrongly.
  9. I disagree, doesn't matter how well they do in pre-season they won't be in the 18 for the 1st game of the season. We've got good numbers in midfield/attack so the easy thing to do would be to play the regulars, which is what Mowbray will do.
  10. Bit disappointing that Davenport is with the under 23's and Smallwood is with the first team. I'm just hoping that they've put the players who needed less game time in this squad. Like Nyambe, Gallagher and Chapman, along with the trialists.
  11. I rate Zohore, good target man he's not particularly prolific though.
  12. Nyambe has to keep developing his game, not just getting caught out of position but his crossing is dire. I'm not exagerating when I say he's the worst crosser of a ball I've seen at Ewood.
  13. If we end up with Ruddy then that would be fantastic. By far the best keeper we've been linked with, experienced at this level and still operating at a good level.
  14. Slightly off topic but Bennett is statistically the best winger defensively in the league, and Evans is in the top 10 for centre mids defensively.
  15. Heard from someone who knows someone on the coaching team that they just didn't rate Raya, were looking to replace him as no.1 whatever happened.
  16. We've got so many bodies in midfield and up front that you would think we're going to have to get some of these young lads a good loan move. Other than a league cup game or a freak injury crisis, don't see how Butterworth, Buckley, Nuttall and Rankin-Costollo are going to even make the bench.
  17. I'd be disappointed if we sold Raya and end up with Scott Carson. Never been particularly fond of him and he was kept out the Derby team last season by a pretty average keeper.
  18. Going into this window we needed reinforcements in defence and in particular a new starting centre half. This in my head was the only metric by which Mowbray would be judged. It appears that he thinks just one centre half is enough, thats a big call after last season but he wants to spend his money elsewhere so fair enough thats his call. If he doesn't deliver a centre back then no matter what other business we do then this window will be considered a failure (I quite like the players we;ve brought in thus far) Having sold Raya, if he goes into the first game of the season having not replaced him then he should be sacked as he can't be trusted with another transfer window. If the replacement isn't better than Raya then questions again need to be asked. We've got about three weeks left to get in another keeper and a centre half, the quality of which will define our season. Fingers crossed we get this right.
  19. If he's half decent then he's a cheap option to pad the squad out a bit. I'd have preferred a new left and right back option along with the centre half but Tony has assigned the budget elsewhere.
  20. I think Hart will be kept around as back up left back. Which i'm not too unhappy about, I would literally play anyone there than have Williams at left back.
  21. Rich Sharpe just tweeted that the 5-1 vs Rochdale goalscoerers were Lenihan, Graham and Hart in 1st Half (3-1 at H/T) and Brereton with 2 in the second half.
  22. Sorry to be positive but Hart is more than good enough to be our number 1. He obviously not a champions league standard goalkeeper or England no.1 any more but he’s still a good keeper albeit a slightly error prone one at the top level. Find it quite interesting last season how he was dropped at Burnley, I spoke to someone at work who watches Burnley and commented that they looked doomed for relegation despite Hart pulling off some great saves on MOTD. He then made what turned out to be a terrific point about Heatons better communication with his defence that was better suited to Burnley’s low block. Which Hart never mastered, but he was still making good saves he just never suited Burnley’s style like he never would’ve worked as peps city keeper. the only negative Is that I’ve heard he is a bit off an arrogant bellend
  23. I thought those people who fell for the Harrison Reed thing the other day were a bit foolish and ive done the same thing. I'll just sit in the corner with my dunce hat on.
