I could see it just not for 90 mins. On the hour when we're chasing the game for example I think it could work. -

Pears Brittain. Carter hyam beck Travis. Tronstad Weimann. Dolan. Hedges Ohashi Subs: toth, batth, Pickering, jrc, Buckley, baker, cantwell, sigurdsson, ACD, Gueye. (There's 10 there but it's really hard to decide who to drop) If brittain isn't fit then you'd stick with Carter rb and batth cb. Think you'd he looking to get Hedges off as first change. -

Thought Carter was okay. A couple of odd choices positionally but that's to be expected to some extent. I'd go further on Baker and thought he was poor. Clearly not a winger, and one where the manager is trying to crowbar him into the team. I also wasn't massively impressed with his set pieces. I was also really looking forward to seeing cantwell but he looks very short of match fitness. It's going to be a good few weeks before he's starting. Don't let distract from what was a very pleasing afternoon at ewood. -

It's infuriating. And has wound me right up (which is sad as the on pitch performances had me in a very positive rovers mood) Lots of people in the comments lapping it up. We've got to remember that all that money isn't available up front - well then the same goes for our signings as do most transfers. It's really disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Ffp issues - not an issue after these sales. Could easily have spent more and still complied. Wages - a fair point. However, the wage bill has been significantly cut following the freezing of funding by the owners. But the owners are great though aren't they! It's really sad that they have to praise the owners for the most basic level of 'support', ie. authorising any transfers at all. But that's where we are, and yet some seem to think this all great. He's just a puppet. He talks but I hear waggotts words. He's had little input in this tramfer window bar being a taxi service from the airport.

A sensible decision as he hasn't has a ton of rest this summer coming off the back of his first full season where he's played most mins of most games. It was also a really poor decision from carsley to drop him down to the under 21s. They should have been using these games to give him a go in the 1st team.

Got to rip the plaster off with pears. Get it done. Becks Derby day performance has means I'd be reluctant to drop for Pickering. Real selection issues are the 3 behind the striker. Toth Brittain. Carter. Hyam. Beck Travis. Tronstad Weimann. Cantwell. Dolan Ohashi Subs Pears, batth, JRC, duru, Hedges, Buckley, baker, siggy, dubbery -

On the way back now. What really stands out is the togetherness and the willingness to fight and run for the cause. Some really massive performances and shifts in there today. Hard to pick a man of the match I'd go for Travis who ran himself silly today when we really needed it. Hedges worked hard defensively, ohashi worked his socks off, brittain was committed, dolan I'd wager covered more ground than anyone. Hyam was very solid 2nd half. Weimann shot himself into folklore. Gueye is really useful when he's not interacting with the ref. Beck though has really done himself proud today though and has put in a strong case gor himself. That's not an easy game to come into when you've not played at this level before. First 20 mins I thought we'd made a mistake starting him but he really got stuck in and adapted to the pace really well. Like the look of him, might be more than a squad filler. -
I'll be honest moran might be that minus the good set pieces 🤣. Moran had a couple of decent games for us in the first half of the season especially in the league but was completely annoymous 2nd half of the season. He wasn't quick or confident enough to play wide. Went missing too often, too powderpuff to play cm. Would be interesting what he could do as 10 but I'm glad he's not rocked back here (also glad you've taken gally and ennis of us)

See I think Cairney could've been moulded into an 6/8. Early Dunn was an 8. An 8 I'd say roams around more, a 6 holds shape more, can be a ball player or a destroyer type. A 10 has more freedom Other examples: 6: tronstad, souness era flitcroft, Lee Williamson, n'zonzi, 8: robbie savage, steven reid. 10: Ruben rochina -8: Hope Akpan

Judging by them not starting McFadzean even in the league cup I'd say we needed another. Think we are really over reliant on Carter. With Wharton to come back next season this is one where a young loan as 4th choice would've made sense. If we get the winger, keeper, cantwell and centre mid then it's been a decent window in terms of number and options. A cb would be the icing on the cake.

I lot of scepticism about Doak but I think it makes a lot of sense personally. The lads young and hasn't really had an extended run of games anywhere. He needs to go somewhere he is guaranteed to start and be the focus of the side, he'd get that here but wouldnt necessarily get that develolment. He's close enough to Liverpool physically that it's not that much of a culture shock, will likely not have to move. They're close to signing chiesa so his game time is going to be even more limited. We should be hammering them with the Harvey elliot story as a year here did very well for his development. The issue is will a better resourced championship team offer to pay more of his wages and get ahead of us. It seems to happen on every other transfer.

I agree on Travis and Gueye as they are both likely to start at turd Moor. Only went for Travis as tronstad played 60 mins vs Stockport and we don't have that 4th cm. Sounds like batty doesn't deserve a start but I don't think we can risk Pickering ahead of Saturday. Weimann having missed pre season could probably do with a longer run out to get fit. Thinking at least 75 mins, same for batth and fadz

Game of two halves from my view. Poor first half, where if they'd taken their chances earlier we could've been 2 nil down at half time. 1st half we lacked a bit of energy and struggled to break them down. Could be a sign of things to come this season if teams sit back and let us have the ball. Game swung on the JRC equaliser, well timed, undeserved but stopped us chasing the game 2nd half. 2nd half I thought was better. More energy and attacking intent. A lot of players who were poor first half were much better in the 2nd such as Travis. Again the ability to change the game off the bench has helped us. Gueye is quite clumsy but a handful and siggy took his goal well. I felt we deserved it 2nd half, Oxford looked poor and didn't create much until that bit of pressure towards the end. -
Ticks a lot of boxes though doesn't he No transfer fee Can play and cover both right and left back. Is quick From the north west Experience at a higher level Good age and could be sold for reasonable value in a future fire sale Only issue here will be wages. Same with iverson too, it makes sense on paper but we will be hesitant to pay those wages at this stage of the window. We will be looking for cheaper alternatives first.

I think you'd play ohashi as a 10 or play him ahead of Gueye. Or just play a bit more like a 4-4-2. If we were to go back to a 5 at the back, I'd go with Hedges left wing back and Pickering left cb. -
We need to invest the vast majority of the szmodics fee. Whether we will or not will be remain to be seen. Judging by the lining up of keepers last week I'd say that they've been waiting for the cash influx from szmodics to make a few moves. We desperately need a keeper and getting a good one will go a long way to determining our success or failure this season. We need a left back, at least one who can cover Pickering even better if they are an upgrade. Ideally need to be left footed, probably a more defensive minded full back who uses the ball well. A bonus If they can also play cb. We need a left winger with pace. To give us a counter attacking threat and option. The left winger is clearly the width down left in what we've seen so far this season with the rb the width on the right. I'd suggest the majority of funds and effort go into getting the above. If the budget allows we can also do with: Another forward option, either as a striker or a 10 ala szmodics Another cm. Light on numbers but I count 4 so could potentially manage. A back up right back. I think Duru, JRC or Carter could deputise and I'd rather see the budget invested elsewhere.
