  1. Everton have a history of overpaying massively. BBD to the Toffees for say circa £20m plus would be a win (given the contract running out).
  2. Whilst I don't want to lose either Brereton Diaz or Phillips both have been linked with moves away all summer. In some respects this is what we've been hoping wouldn't happen, but predictably it looks like it will. What encourages me more than those two players however is the club at large. In Broughton/Tomasson and the new head of recruitment Williams, we have a structure in place and the beginning of what (JDT famously calls 'project') looks like an exciting chapter. Brentford and Brighton being the two clubs everyone (outside of the top 4) is trying to model themselves on. Both have lost massive players in Eriksen, Cucurella, Bissouma etc. Yet both have an identity of the club, over the players. Rovers should be looking to reach this level, players will always come and go. The structure, the youth progression, the overall plan is whats most important. I do believe Tomasson/Broughton/Williams are our strongest assets at the moment. Yes more time enjoying the rise of Ashley Phillips would have been nice, but good luck to the lad if he goes.
  3. I dont see a reason to change the team that started on Saturday, so wouldn't do so myself. If pressed, maybe Dolan for Vale, but don't mind Dolan off the bench. Szmodics, Dack, Morton all perhaps see the match at some stage? I am intrigued to see how we'll setup away from home against a team that has a lot of the ball. Probably more swift counter attacks and breakaways. The first goal is so big in the Championship, do we have the ability to come from behind playing the style of football we're endeavouring to do? The COVID season of 20/21 was blighted by this, so many 0-1 losses against teams who scored first and then sat deep with 10 men behind the ball. We didn't have the nous to unlock defences then, has it changed now? Only time will tell.
  4. Just reading the T&C now. It says you're allowed to share with a member of the family. I'll ring the ticket office for clarification.
  5. Question that I'm sure I know the answer to, but just to double check. My dad now has a Senior season ticket, but often misses the first few games with being away on holiday. Usually I have a mate that uses the spare ticket, with it being two adults theres never been the need to do anything. But now I assume he'll need to upgrade the ticket from a senior to an adult. Does he just get charged the difference? E.g. This weekend's game is £25 for adults and £20 for seniors. Therefore he'd have to pay the £5 difference at the ticket office before hand?
  6. 1. Where will Rovers finish ? 11th 2. Who will be the Rovers (official) Player Of The Season ? John Buckley 3. Who do you think will be the breakout/breakthrough academy player this season ? (Let’s say under 23 at season start & fewer than 10 1st team appearances to be eligible) Sam Barnes 4. Who will win the Championship ? Norwich City 5. Where will Burnley finish ? 4th
  7. Ding Ding Ding Who had page 286 on their Transfer Bingo sheet? Nice to have a new face in, hopefully the first of many.
  8. Very much looking forward to Celtic on Saturday (tickets arrived yesterday). Heading up on Friday and staying over in Glasgow. How many are doubling up on the Dundee/Celtic trip? On kit news, interesting to see us wearing a Navy away kit for the Dundee match, seeing as Dundee play in Navy themselves?
  9. Players running down their contracts to give themselves bigger signing on bonuses and allowing them to dictate their own future is becoming the norm across almost every major sport. NFL, NBA, MLB, Premier League its the modern way and I'd expect its here to stay. Personally I think BBD is at the peak of his value to Rovers this summer and thus I'd cash in on the asset, particularly if those funds can be channeled back into the squad and or for more youth signings (ala Markanday). As mentioned, loss of form, injury, the complications of all the travel to and from Chile every international break and the fact hes played Copa America, a full Championship season, World Cup qualifiers and now on the eve of another season, I do feel a BBD burnout is coming. Lets also not forget he only scored 2 goals after New Years Day.
  10. Need to see it in the whole context with the rest of the shirt. Not awful, but wish it was just text and not the Devil logo also.
  11. Will be interesting to see where he turns up. He's a limited ability Championship right back, good attributes with power and pace, but no end product on any crosses. Provides very few assists/goals (7 assists, 0 goals) over his entire Rovers career. I know he's not a striker, so to judge him on goals is hardly completely fair, but in his time at the Rovers, regular full backs (albeit all with much fewer appearances than Nyambe). Derrick Williams - 8 assists, 6 goals Amari'i Bell - 1 assist, 3 goals Harry Pickering - 2 assists, 2 goals Maybe Mowbray didn't get the best out of him? thats a fair question. But I'd be (pleasantly) surprised to see Nyambe is go on to be a top end Championship right back for the rest of his career.
  12. The unique break with the World Cup has thrown up a cracking final and return fixtures in Burnley away and Preston home. Tough looking Easter period with Norwich (h) and Huddersfield (a) Good Friday and Easter Monday. Blackpool (a) during the summer holidays (31st August) will make it an even more popular away day. Sunderland on Boxing Day for the first time since 2008, when Jason Roberts missed a glorious chance to steal all three points. In the corresponding fixtures last year (against the opening eight teams) QPR (h) won, Swansea (a) lost, WBA (h) lost, Reading (a) lost, Sheff Utd (a) lost, Stoke (h) lost, Blackpool (a) lost, Bristol City (h) lost.
  13. Bradley Dack at Ewood today (as per his Instagram) so I’d expect the new home shirt is being modelled at the stadium ahead of its release in a couple of weeks. The modern trend of promotional shots, particularly the ladies signings/merchandise reveals etc. have been heading to my seat in the Riverside! Maybe a rogue photo or two will emerge?
  14. Got the train and a hotel booked for Celtic away 😁 Just need them to release the ticket details now. I'm expecting a good turn out from the Rovers fans, though I'm sure this will probably be tempered with a £20 ticket for a friendly!
  15. Speaks very well. Like the body language, the confidence and excitement is there to see. A stark contrast from the latter months under Mowbray. Really hope this is the start of an exciting new era for the club.
  16. Tomasson still not confirmed, so we move onto page 369! The 400 target is now looking unlikely, but 375 in play? For those playing along at home, naturally. My feelings are a mixture of excitement and trepidation, not unlike almost every manager we've appointed since Souness if I'm being honest. Hughes, Allardyce and Mowbray at the better end of the scale, to Coyle and Kean at the bottom. Interestingly, JDT will become only Rovers' second foreign manager, and first without any historic links to the club. Danish managers in the Championship over the last ten years are rare. Leeds' Thomas Christiansen 2017/18 season who was sacked with Leeds in 10th place and a winning percentage of 42.9% and Brentford's Thomas Frank in 2018/19 season, who started as assistant, before taking over from Dean Smith and leading the Bees to promotion a couple of seasons later. Danish links with Rovers Preben Arentoft (1971-74) Per Frandsen (1999-2000) John Jenson - Assistant Manager - (2011) Lars Jacobsen (2009-10) Per Pedersen (1997-98)
  17. If Stoke City (fellow Macron) are to give us any clues. We'll have a 'Walk out Jacket' very much like the training shirt, which also makes me think that the shade of blue will be used for the blue on the home shirt. Similarly, we may have an away 'Walk out Jacket' in the change strip colour scheme. Also, interesting that we've used a full colour badge, instead of the monochrome badge on the Stoke shirts. Finally a clue to our goalkeeper kits? Pastiles anyone?
  18. Already renewed mine. Website seems to suggest we'll be getting new cards? Though given how messy the website is, I wouldn't be surprised if we just keep using the same ones we've had for years. I know my Dad should be getting a new ticket as he's now a Senior!
  19. Shame to lose Darragh, but something I think we've all seen coming for some time. Middlesbrough have got a solid to above average defender for this level, he'll do well there I think and they'll be up in the top 10 and challenging for the playoffs I'm sure. As for Rovers, I think it underlines the start of another cycle. The new DoF appointment yesterday, plus hopefully a new manager soon and the emergence of some new youth players coming through really do point toward a new era. Hopefully in five years time Hayden Carter will have played 200+ games for the club and become captain. Good luck Darragh.
  20. Ainsworth would be my choice at this point, particularly if he wants it as badly as its suggested. His style of football doesn't bother me one bit, provided he can get results. Earned his stripes at Wycombe and is more than deserving of a chance at a higher level with 'better' players. Get him in, then lets all move on. This managerial search has been exhausting and the season starts in 7 weeks!
  21. Jon Dahl Tomasson's last signing as manager of Malmo...... Martin Olsson 😆 Somebody needs to be appointed this week!
  22. Pardew 33/1 on sky bet, money to be made if true. (10/1 on William Hill 👀) I’d personally not be too enamoured with that appointment, but wouldn’t feel as catastrophic as Coyle
  23. I remember when C0yle came from left-field to get the job in 2016/17, immediately put money on us going down. Summer 2022 could be more of the same. For those wondering, no market on Pardew with SkyBet or William Hill. Would be such an uninspiring appointment.
  24. First new Macron strip for 22/23 in the English leagues. Another decent effort for Stoke. Thankfully Macron don't use many templates so highly unlikely this gives us any clues about the Rovers shirts. Collar maybe? Shorts and socks are template, so I would expect ours to be similar to the garments shown.
