  1. Your final sentence is my point. But i would use technology to punish cheats and reduce simulation.
  2. Honestly prefer it as it was today. The only thing i would like is for a panel (including the actual referee) to review and punish cheating. Difficult i know in the modern business that is football with lawsuits everywhere but if the ref looks at it, admits they were deceived/wrong without predjudice then a disciplinary panel could decide appropriate punishment. Difficult in reality - today i would think the ref would admit it was a wrong decision but their player should only receive the mildest of warnings that he was treading a fine Line. Such warnings could be accumulated like yellow cards whilst blatant cheating equals instant ban.
  3. Thought he did ok - shows intelligence when in a tight corner defending and has a reasonable pace and strength. If AA had played the through ball instead of shooting (few mins after 1st goal) then Samuel would have been clear in the box. My point was more that i saw more from Samuel today than i have from SG and BB in the games i have seen whilst DG wasn't great last time i saw him. If SG, BB and DS were all freebies then i would be keeping DS and looking for a top striker...
  4. Samuel has to be given an extension - pity his understudies will have cost so much
  5. Bennett instead of BB was right call with Gallagher already on. Strange game - om balance we didn't deserve to be 2 up but we are bloody unlucky to be drawing now. ..
  6. Williams if fit or Carter/Magloire. Williams has been ok att cb (mid-lower champ level) - ie ok backup for an upper midtable team) Otherwise blood a youngster - sink or swim time but an opportunity to see if we have a Jones/hanley/Lenihan in the building
  7. Hmm - if i watch Chelsea v spurs instead then would that make me a good Rovers fan or a "plastic" ???
  8. Dilemma - match is available on My sports channel. Historically when i have watched we have lost 3 out of 4 whilst when i have missed the game we have won 4 from 6...
  9. So if he delivers promotion form during a 13 game streak should we give him the job for life? 32 games during the same period of each season is an amazingly random stat whilst 13 games is indicative that the manager should be sacked ? "It's logic Jim but not as we know it" ???
  10. Voted yes on the proviso that the price is right in terms of fee/wages.
  11. Pre-season i think - Graham on left wing
  12. Sacked (eventuellt) on the advice of Paul Senior who is no longer at the club having resigned... ?
  13. No. But imo it was never the plan for this season.
  14. Fair analysis having seen it now. Would add in Walton's defence that it was bouncing making it more difficult to judge. One of them for me but i think those criticising the keeper are extremely harsh in this instance.
  15. Sorry for late reply. Just felt Bennett was the best option given it was relatively early in the game - meant we still had options for all positions/situations.
  16. Not popular opinion but Bennett was the best option available on the bench IMO.
  17. Tbh I think the bench is ok - all positions covered and a few older heads to calm it down if we are leading. The only problem really is that Brereton is not the young, promising striker that i would want to throw on if we need a goal... Feels, sadly, like a waste of a seat ?
  18. Not dissappointed because i didn't expect any signings. Only positive for me is that we have lost 4 players to injury but still have a competitive team (if inconsistent but nothing new there) Negatives/worries är further injuries/suspensions and that brereton didn't go out on loan. Wasn't expecting promotion this season tbh hence low expectations for this window. Would like to see us sign a GK and CH before preseason as that is what scares me most before next season
  19. TM's about "seeing how close we can get" is either poorly worded or very telling...
  20. Graham should be playing if it is about the "here and now". If the actual remit is stay in Championship and sell players now and again then Gallagher & Armstrong are the logical choices to get as much game time as possible.
  21. Can't quite say why but i really don't think Dunn should be in there. How many games did super Atko play for us btw?
  22. Genuine question: could Bell follow Nyambes development curve? Reminds me a lot of Nyambe 1-2 seasons ago and, imo, is not as bad as many make out.
