  1. Not sure how much we'd have to pay and don't see where he'd fit in to our side. My understanding is that he's always played in a front two just off the striker or behind a lone striker centrally in an attacking midfield role. If we signed him we couldn't play him as the lone striker and he's not going to replace Dack as our attacking midfielder so I can't see us spending money on him too be honest. Unless we are going to play 3-5-2 and he's going to partner Graham.
  2. We haven't won an opening day fixture since 2010 which is crazy. End the run boys.
  3. Where will Rovers finish this season? : 15th Player of the Year : Dacky boy Young Player of the Year: Travis Top Goalscorer: Dacky boy Championship Promoted : Boro,Stoke,Leeds Championship Relegated : Ipswich, Bolton, Rotherham Dark Horse : Norwich Hey....Stranger things have happened : Aberdeen to win 3-0 at Turd Moor later today Miscellaneous : Joey Barton to watch more games from the stand than the touchline this season
  4. Massively. Especially with the price Ipswich apparently want. Doubt we are interested and I fooking hope not he's a shite little lump. I don't care that he scored a few last season I'll put money on with anyone he doesn't score as many this season 100%. I'm not a fan
  5. Didn't they'd both score over 20 that season? I remember we lost to Burnley and lost to Bournemouth within a few days then only drew at home to frigging Yeovil and that was that. We should have made the play offs with that side.
  6. Exactly, 20 goal a season striker and you're in a relegation battle! If you've got everyone chipping in you'll be nearer the top of the pile than the bottom. Need to get the balance right.
  7. We had a twenty goal a season striker in Rhodes and we didn't pull any trees up. I loved Rhodes but like you say, need goals throughout the team.
  8. I'm working or else I'd have definitely been tempted. Fair play to everyone making the trip. Never been to Portman Road so it's a ground I'd like to tick off the list at some point.
  9. My guess is the story will be something along the lines of us being priced out of a move. Be nice if it's something different though!
  10. Palmer isn't a winger he's definitely more of an attacking mid. He'll probably play on the left or right of the three behind the striker for us but he's definitely more comfortable centrally. So, arguably we haven't signed any of those players we needed. Time yet though..
  11. Loaned Aaron Mooy from city. A player they wouldn't have been able to afford, he was their star man and they wouldn't have gone up without him. Once they got up and had the funds to sign him, they signed him. Loan players like Kachunga (another one they made permenant) Palmer and in particular Danny Ward in goal also played their part. Nothing wrong with loaning players as long as they do the business, doesn't mean permenant signings should ever be neglected though.
  12. It was last season Armstrong was playing for Bolton in the championship on the left and struggled before coming to us. Albeit, he performed well for us on the left I still think he's at his best up front. He was at his best running in behind as a striker and using his pace. If we do bring him back play him up top or don't start him.
  13. Prixon says Nmecha off to Swansea. If true then it's a shame as I think he'll do well this season, talented kid. Saying that though it is Nixon, and he did say we were in pole position to get Kent before he went to Rangers.
  14. Demarai Gray will be featuring a lot for the first team at Leicester this season, as he did last season. Danny Williams is a solid CM and is better than anything we've got. Made 20 appearances for Huddersfield last season, and in today's market he would probably be too much for us, he'd be out of our reach for sure. Plus I don't think we are looking at centre midfield as a position of interest. Hope that answers your question buddy.
  15. Mitro joins Fulham for 22 million. Might mean Newcastle would accept a bit less for Armstrong now..
  16. As been mentioned on here, I don't think Mowbray is that keen on Chapman too be honest. Armstrong, we can't afford him.
  17. Class signing too be fair. Real coup bringing Palmer in. All we need now is two strikers and a winger and we're sorted. Crack on..
  18. How is this guy still playing for us? Pre season or not Jesus Christ.
  19. Palmer himself "liked" the tweet wishing him luck at Rovers. Surely he wouldn't do that if he wasn't coming here
  20. My first memory as a Rovers fan was a home game to Southampton my dad took me on. Around about 2002 so I was about six years old. I think Jansen or Yordi scored and we won. I was in the JW upper and my dad picked me up when we scored. Favourite memory is tough, I might go for David Bentley scoring a hat trick against United at home, what a game that was. The most I've ever celebrated a Rovers goal at Ewood though has to be Dunny's last minute equaliser against Burnley. Bodies everywhere. Amazing. One of my favourite away days was Jason Roberts' last minute winner away at Bolton after he picked the ball up on the half way line, unbelievable scenes. It was a Sunday game on sky so wasn't many of us there but the atmosphere after that goal went in has always stayed with me. Du du du du Jason Roberts. Big donkey.
  21. There's no over reaction it's genuine concern. Any fan of any football club who were needing 4 or 5 players in and the transfer window was closing in less than 2 weeks, as well as the season itself starting in less than 2 weeks would be concerned. I don't think any one has over reacted on here, the only thing I've seen which is an over reaction is the guy who's tweet I posted on here earlier. Let's not forget either, we aren't fans of just any football club. We are fans of a football club with absolutely useless owners who's track record in transfer windows speaks for itself. We are right to be skeptical. Doesn't mean we won't be delighted when we bring some new signings in. That's what we all want at the end of the day.
  22. Jesus Christ. He almost makes Chaddy look like JAL.
  23. Haha I'm afraid not. I'm down at 8% now so when I eventually get home and charge the useless thing maybe we'll have signed someone
  24. Just seen these two tweets from two Rovers fans. Not the first time our fan base has been split by a transfer window. Not sure which one of these two I'd be siding with, neither
