  1. That free kick against Blyth Spartans. He did it on the biggest stage of all. Chilean messi.
  2. Nixon hasn't had a clue or got anything right about Rovers since his mate wee Coyley left. So calling him a reputable source in terms of Rovers is pushing it. Calling Nixon a reputable source full stop is pushing it too be fair. Big Scottish Fud. Don't even get me started on that tosser Cross either.
  3. John cross? Is he the Arsenal guy who is hated by all the Arsenal fans and also for someone who's an Arsenal corrospondent wasnt he absolutely clueless in regards to their recent managerial appointment? If he can't get things about his own team right I doubt he's going too know much about Rovers.
  4. Certainly gunna be an interesting summer ahead. All I'll say to you JAL is don't expect too much you'll drive yourself insane.
  5. Just waiting for Vinjay to rock up and somehow turn this into an Anti Sir Alex/Man United thread ... Fully deserved though, Sir King Kenneth of Dalglish.
  6. If he got off the booze and out the casino's and got himself back in shape then he'd be worth taking a chance on. Wonder where he'll end up ?
  7. Callum Wilson?! Once he's fully fit he'll be starting for Bournemouth. If they were getting rid he'd have suitors in the bottom half of the prem/top half of the championship. Neigh chance we'd be able to get him or pay his wages. Fletcher or Sinclair possibly though, I agree in the sense we should be looking to get a young pacey forward in. A more evolved Samuel basically.
  8. Could we afford any better though JAL? I don't personally think Gallagher is a bad player at this level. I certainly wouldn't object to him coming back.
  9. Yeah a one year deal is the only option surely but with him being one of our highest paid players I'd be very surprised if Bolton were able to pay him more than us, and commit to doing it over two years also. Too be fair neither of us have a pot to piss in so maybe DG is holding out for a team that isn't rovers or Bolton he hasn't got many years left so he'll want to earn as much as possible for as long as possible. I wouldn't blame him for that either if he does move on.
  10. I wouldn't argue with that at all. For a free transfer he was bloody solid for us last season and although I wouldn't start the guy this season I have no problem with him being back up.
  11. If this is true then we are fooked. If frigging Bolton can afford to offer a player more than we can then I'm lowering my expectations for this summer greatly.
  12. Jesus god help us if Mowbray was to leave anytime soon.
  13. Not only could Friedel kick but the way he used to throw the ball to start counter attacks etc, Jesus the guy could probably throw it from one goal to the other if he tried. The best goalie in Rovers history no question.
  14. Speaking of local lads I'm still gutted we didn't bring Derbyshire back when he was available 2 years ago, bloody Coyle. Had we got Derbyshire in instead of Stokes we might have even stayed up. Not that Derbyshire is the messiah but I've always been a fan of him, he'd have scored a shed load this season anyway. 32 now though, shame.
  15. When David Jones first came in after having Danny Murphy in the middle all season he was a breath of fresh air. That famously bad game when we were 3-0 down at half time to Peterborough and Murphy got booed and subbed off at half time and played his last game for the club after an awful first half. Jones came on and scored and got man of the match . Gutted we didn't keep him at the time as much as he was extremely one footed.
  16. Yeah without doubt we are outsiders. By having a good run I meant potentially making the quarter finals Belgium as good as their squad is have struggled at the last couple of major tournaments and I have my doubts with them and Martinez as a manager but if they click they will surely go far as their squad on paper is one of the best in the tournament. De Bruyne and Hazard with Lukaku up top and the likes of Vertonghen and Alderweireld at the back with Courtois in goal is a spine as good as any in the tournament especially when you can throw players like Mertens and Carrasco into the mix too.
  17. Jesus lower your expectations man. We are a championship club with limited resources. Be realistic.
  18. Don't think Chaddy said much wrong there JAL. Grabban it has been reported is on fortunes, there's no chance we'd afford his wages. Unsure on McNair though so can't say much on him. Armstrong did enough to earn a perm deal, provided it won't cost us to much. Sacko and the Scunthorpe lad are pacy and would give us something different so cut the guy a bit of slack? By all means call him out when he says something ridiculous but there's no need to be such an arse when he's not said anything wrong there. Grow up Dingle.
  19. I think he would have to be played centrally to get the best out of him, especially with the step up to championship football. If we are looking for wingers I'd personally like someone who out and out plays out there rather than someone who "can play" there especially seen as our budget won't be massive this summer. That lad from Scunthorpe looks decent, if Rotherham don't go up I'd be all over Jon Taylor. Similar style of player to Chapman.
  20. Yeah obviously we'll have enough to get past Tunisia and Panama (you'd think) , is it likely Poland or Columbia we'd face in the next round? Either of those could easily beat us. Spain have an aging side, Argentina's defence is woeful, there only really Germany Brazil and France who stand out for me so surely on paper despite the limitations of our own side we could have a good run. I have my doubts though as all us English do.
  21. Lingard Alli Sterling all need to show they can do it for England. If them 3 are on song in Russia we might actually get out the groups
