  1. We won't be the only set of fans feeling this way. There's not been many teams Champ or Prem overly active in the window so far. I expect when the World Cup is finished a LOT of deals will start being done. I'm confident we'll get a few more deals done before the end of the window for sure.
  2. I'd be signing Armstrong to play up top as that is where he's at his best. Would rather get an out and out winger like Jon Taylor from Rotherham or a Harry Chapman I hope Chapman comes back but it's a big risk. He had that injury then did the same injury on his comeback game, I hope he's fully recovered because if he has he'll be a class signing.
  3. Young side, done us proud. Can't fault them they can only learn and grow from this. Righteo.. Back to the club stuff. Get them players signed TM
  4. Jesus he's only 24 seems to have been about for ages. Had promise when we first had him here but doesnt have seemed to have improved at all in the years that have passed which is a worry.
  5. There was so many games last season I walked off thinking we'd played poorly but we'd still won. Doesn't make you a bad side though! Look at the season the Dingles have just had, my step dad is a season ticket holder for that lot and 9 times out of 10 after they'd won and I asked him how they played he'd say rubbish and that it was a poor game stepping up a division we have nothing to fear, if we can keep the ability to get results when we don't play well it will serve us well.
  6. Classic Nixon. Giving himself till Sunday to come up with a bullshit reason why a deal he said was definitely going ahead, is now not going ahead Take note Chadster your mate really does know F ALL.
  7. Not saying he is. Just saying I'll always like him and I wouldn't mind if he was to ever return. Not that we could afford his wages anymore anyway!
  8. We all know more than anyone else though, if he goes there and rediscovers the form we know he's capable of they'll be right to be excited. Even with his record since leaving us being poor, if he was to come back here I wouldn't be able to help get excited!
  9. What a bloody handful Mitrovic is. Would love someone like him playing up top for us, no surprise he was so good for Fulham at the back end of this season. He's a loose cannon but when his heads right he's a class player. He'll score goals in the premier league next season if he gets a chance.
  10. Unless Wednesday are paying 80% of his wages there's no chance Rhodes is going to Bolton or us for that matter on loan, not sure what Wednesday are gunna do with him. They don't want him but finding a team willing to take his wages on is going to be a big job! Such a shame for Rhodes. Can't say a bad word about him from his time here his goals kept us up one year and nearly got us into the play offs the next. I hope he can find his form again some day.
  11. Was the case last summer as well mostly. Can remember the majority of our signings last summer were unexpected ones in terms of us not being linked massively with any of them. Just shows people like Nicko really don't have a clue and that makes me happy
  12. Looks a sensible enough signing to me. On to the next one!
  13. So if we finish around 15th this season and stay up you'll be complaining? Don't know why I'm biting because that's all you come on here to do, get a few bites because I along with others can't help but respond to your bullshit. I'm still convinced your a dingle on the wind-up.
  14. Claudio Yacob released from West Brom. Only 30, not technically gifted but loves a tackle. Presume his wages may be a touch on the high side, but thought I'd throw him out there seen as we've been linked with absolutely nobody and this thread is collapsing quicker than Panama's defence will be on Sunday
  15. Absolutely, played some tough opposition there though too be fair. Interesting to see how far they can go. Made a great start but too be fair the Saudi's were absolutely useless and Egypt bar Salah are a poor side. Can only beat what's in front of you though and they've done it really well. Got a cracking national anthem to them Russians.
  16. I like my mate Dan who would score 50 a season for us in Sunday league when we were kids I wouldn't choose him in my team over Ronaldo or Messi because I like him more. We were debating how good these two players are and you throw in that you'd take Aguero in your side because you like him more? How's that relevant? Whatever you think of them as people is irrelevant you'd take either of them in your team over Aguero. Aguero is a great player, but again it underlines how good Messi and Ronaldo are when the world wouldn't even put Aguero in the same league as them. And Cantona over Shearer? Why would I think that? Give me a break. Nobody could match Shearers goalscoring record when he was here. I never said winning more trophies meant you were a better player. But Ronaldo and Messi win everything and are the best players for their galactic teams in the process. Stop waffling now Vinjay because I'm latching on to it myself now and it's too much effort on a Friday night.
  17. Waffle waffle waffle. The sentence I've just highlighted means this debate is over. How you can say that is just beyond comprehension
  18. The fat Ronaldo in his prime before injury was for me as good as both. However, there's no comparison. These two have been breaking records and winning trophies year after year for 10 years or more. Scoring 50 goals a season! We won't ever see the like again in our lifetime, too have TWO players at the top of their game doing it year after year competing against each other on the biggest stages, like I said, it should be savoured. We all know why you really hate Ronaldo, he's ex United if he'd have played for the blue side of Manchester who we all know you've got a soft spot for then you'd be his biggest fan
  19. Lighten up for once F**k me. That was the best game of football I've watched as a neutral in a long time. Ronaldo is what he is, but what he is, is a big game player and he will without doubt go down as one of the greats. We won't ever have 2 players like him and Messi playing at the same time again in our lifetime so savour it. Unbelievable Jeff
  20. We may be a league away from the premiership but as a team we are miles away. Staying up this season will hopefully give us a platform to kick on but to expect a lot more than that is pushing it. Like I said football is a funny old game and who knows it may just click for us again next season and we could find ourselves in the play off/top half mix like Millwall and Sheff Utd did this season just gone. However the real expectation for us should be survival. How can you be so negative constantly yet be crazy enough to expect us to be going up? If you offered me a 17th placed finish right now I'd snap your hand off.
  21. As long as as we stay up then happy days. That has to be the main aim. Anything more is a bonus, you never know in football but as a start survival has too be our main aim.
  22. Was it last summer the transfer thread was closed and restarted numerous times for going so off topic? Can't help feeling a similar pattern will play out this summer
  23. That "the 72" website is pure bollocks always has been.
