  1. My Dad. Played in the same team as Mike Summerbee growing up and was selected alongside him for trials at a few clubs. Old school reports say he was brilliant but lacked the determination to really improve. Dad says that's what Summerbee had over him despite (so he believed) being a better player at school level.
  2. It's way too fucking loud! I'm getting tinnitus here!
  3. Anyone know what the earliest ever day is in which we have made a signing? I think it was Chris Taylor in 2013. Club revealed he was signing on May 16th, although ofc it still didn't go through until July 1st.
  4. Inter wouldn't have occurred to me til after checking Real, Barca, Juventus, and Milan ?
  5. We both got it eventually ?
  6. But those 86 and 90 aren't Inter players, they're Bayern. I tried juventus and got stuck at either the 90 final. Amazing how many top teams are so well represented!
  7. On top of that, their education courses related through the club (be it football, press, hospitality etc) have made them a genuine top class brand even outside football. God, I'm off to wallow for a bit
  8. Colin Murray a multimillionaire? Really?
  9. A lot of 'Germany' finals, so probably Bayern Munich is one. Real Madrid the other? 1982 had Rummenigge, Breitner, Dremmler for Bayern, probably others. Real had Stielike (West Germany). 1986, Bayern had Rummenigge (West Germany). Real had Valdano (Argie). 1990, Bayern had Augenthaler (West Germany), Real had Ruggeri (Argie) 1994, Bayern had Jorginho (Brazil), Real had OH BOLLOCKS I SPENT AGES LOOKING, AT LEAST I GOT BAYERN RIGHT! 1998, Real had Ronaldo and Carlos (Brazil), Bayern had Lizarazu (France). 2002, Real had Ronaldo (Brazil), Bayern had Kahn (Germany) 2006, Bayern had Ribery (France). Real had Zidane (France). 2010, Real had Ramos etc (Spain), Bayern had Robben (Holland). 2014, Real had DiMaria (Argie), Bayern had Neuer and others (Germany). Must surely be Juventus then?
  10. It'll be Mowbray saying: 'Fuck off, pie boy. Johnno does all the work round here and we could do with your wage freeing up.' or something...
  11. I had the pleasure of doing some of my Primary teacher training under Lenny Johnrose.
  12. Should be: Links Thread = Link only. Discussion thread = Link only with optional comment and further discussion.
  13. Anyone playing Football Manager? Last one I got was FM14 and before that was FM10. Wondering if I should keep up the tradition and get FM18 once 19 comes out? (Simply for price).
  14. Pains me to say it, but some of the best programmes I've read have been the Burnley ones my gf's dad brings home. It's more like a premium magazine and choc full! Rovers could do with taking their lead. It's shameful to have them bettering us any way.
  15. A Lenihan deal is vital imo. If not, we'll have to be in the playoffs as a minimum just to keep him imo.
  16. I think it was the Northern Rail fiasco.
  17. The issue with a Rooney rule (not that I'm fully conversant in how it works) is box-ticking can be twisted. Eg: As a deaf person in teaching (I can speak and hear perfectly fine, but with hearing aids), I often felt I was being interviewed because I was ticking the 'disabled' box. When I stopped ticking the box, I got significantly fewer interviews and the mood noticeably soured once the interviewer realised I wore hearing aids. It became apparent that schools were using me to prove they interviewed disabled candidates. In schools I worked at on supply I was constantly being assumed as unable to hear children even though I could, and there was no obvious reason for this to be assumed other than lack of deaf awareness. Box-ticking it gets you to the interview stage. But based on my own experience, you quickly get drained of your confidence by not getting jobs and it appears to be the case with BAME in footy.
  18. Jon Stead from L2 Huddersfield to PL Rovers. Keith Andrews from NEWLY PROMOTED L1 MK Dons I think, so technically direct from L2.
  19. Re: Downing, I view him like I viewed Zurab in our Prem years. Never going to be better than our first teamers but a great cover defender.
  20. Another cb for 3 at the back maybe?
  21. Funnily enough, his strength is probably what impressed me so much vs Oxford. Maybe he'd been able to rest post-promotion and so the benefit finally showed. If he plays like he did vs Oxford every game, he could be a very useful versatile forward.
  22. We've benefited massively from such deals. Samba, Nelsen, NZonzi.
  23. 'There's more than black or white! Not everything has to be great or shit! There are shades of grey you know!' 'I know I'm looking at 15 of them when I look at you.'
  24. Official shirt sponsor with sponsorless option upon purchase
  25. I think it's as simple as a proper battle for the jersey. If Raya drops a bollock, Fielding straight in. Vice versa.
