  1. Wonder if the stumbling block re: Graham could be an attempt to reduce his wages as the intention is to start Armstrong up top, with DG as backup? It's a way I was thinking we'd start playing when Armstrong came in but then DG really hit a run of form so couldn't really be dropped.
  2. Could be the club trying to waive his promotion pay rise? Or lessen by how much?
  3. In fairness Stu, I've only seen it mentioned post-Peterborough and even then it read more like the players happened to sort it out amongst themselves and the manager agreed with what they were doing so stood back. Don't think it'd be a 'style', just for odd games.
  4. No because agents want noise for their clients, not silence. You'd think with your obsession you'd know how agents worked.
  5. Remember that Rich Sharpe may have been asked by the club to keep it under wraps so as not to derail a potential deal. I'm sure it happened once or twice when Cryer was our journo. By which I mean saying 'Nothing in it', then the player in question turning up a week later. Think Santa Cruz was an example.
  6. Nah, would cause friction (literally) with some of our stars.
  7. It's the way Ewood SHOULD be imo. Blackburn End (Home) vs Darwen End (Away).
  8. Very tempted but a bit put off by pricing. Was expecting it to cost the same as our last Champ season tbh. Holding fire.
  9. Suspect the question was leading along the lines of: 'What happens to the club if you try to match the spending of the Championship's biggest clubs this season?'
  10. Competition for those two (combative) will come from Bennett and Travis, with Hardcastle and Tomlinson knocking on the door too imo. Midfield needs a playmaker like we thought Whittingham would be.
  11. The newly-PL Wolves captain? McGinn would be decent but if we're also signing McGeouch then it'd be theoretically better as it'd save a bit of 'gelling'. Both tidy players apparently.
  12. Sounds good to me! Addition in bold (imo).
  13. Tbf the two things Evans has going for him are: 1. He performs well for NI. 2. He's never played under a proper manager here before Mowbray. Maybe Mowbray is the man to get him right, esp' with him seemingly sorting Graham and Mulgrew's fitness this season.
  14. There are certainly aspects he can improve, and transfers for us need to be good. But I still say about 1/3 good signings is about right (possibly better) as an average. Even Fergus made some real clangers.
  15. Club should look to grab some initiative in rewarding our remarkable away support. Could be done by implementing our own 'Twenty's Plenty' campaign to fans who went to 5 or more away games: Whatever the cost of a ticket to an away game, anything over £20 is covered by the club.
  16. So about as good as most managers...
  17. Because they've also delivered Dack, Smallwood, Bell, Armstrong and arguably Chapman... Not to mention Samuel delivered us 9 points on his own.
  18. Could still shove away fans uo in the Gods most games and lay Rovers flags on the DE lower tier
  19. Asked a scottish mate about McGeouch, and TM's seeming attempt to do 3 at the back: 'McGeouch will suit that style only if the wing backs go forward, giving him a choice of wings, Dack, or strikers to aim for. BUT whichever choice he picks, they'll get the ball where they want it. Also not afraid to roam forward (formerly played much further up the pitch) but has settled into the 'play dictator' role just ahead of the defence. Suspect it's helped with his fitness issues.' Sounds good to me, like a poor man's Tugay! Only 25 too. Wonder if Mulgrew pulled a string or two here (if we've actually signed him)?
  20. Personally feel that 'having it to prove' with the talent he has can only be good for whoever his club turns out to be. Injuries are a worry BUT, we just got a full season out of Mulgrew and Graham who are notorious sicknotes. If it's a reasonable fee (say, what we paid for Dack) then I'd go for it.
  21. This guy is a dream. Real common sense, no BS.
