  1. Or he's not flash enough to cost the club a few quid extra for the sake of 30mins on the train. Pennies and pounds.
  2. And with money not being No#1 in football back then, the 'lesser' Brazilian league was most likely the equivalent of Second Division at the time at worst. Those same 'lesser' Brazilian league's produced 3 WC winning sides out of 4 comps. No doubt Pele was fricking phenomenal.
  3. I wouldn't underestimate how angry he gets if you refuse...
  4. Interesting to see Butterworth knocking on the door.
  5. I think ourselves and Croatia are both teams that have grown into this World Cup as it has progressed. Hopefully they'll be feeling leggy after about 5 of them got cramp yesterday.
  6. It's as eloquent and thoughtful as the sentiment deserves. Where are all those elite teams you mention? On the plane home. We can only beat what's in front of us, and we've done it. The WC semi final is a great achievement and something we couldn't achieve in either of the years you mentioned. We've only done it twice before in our history, so I (and right-minded folk across England) will enjoy it instead of dumping on it.
  7. Who gives a shit?
  8. How daft it can be to say players can 'do a job' out of position.
  9. Even Queenie knows it's coming home: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1882776585119145&id=563338173729666
  10. Under a proper manager too.
  11. I thought it was a left winger playing on the right wing (or vice versa) so that they cut in on their strong foot to shoot instead of crossing from the byline.
  12. I think this is why it feels so different this time. We're supporting a team again instead of a bunch of egos.
  13. Looks like quite a number of posters on this site may be proven right: We should've taken Shelvey.
  14. My players of the tournament so far are Kane and Maguire. Consistently strong positionally as well as on the ball. Trippier too has been a revelation at rwb but was badly at fault for the equaliser tonight. If he keeps his form vs Sweden, I'll add him too. I'm pleased particular that Kane is showing himself to be so much more than a mere 'striker'. Tonight he dropped deep to help dictate the play to Sterling, Vardy, and Rashford showing just what a real, proper footballer he is. Strong with a cool head too. Proper captain. Maguire too, isn't just a defender. He's able to move into midfield and dominate there too, as well as moving up the left wing. They are 2 excellent footballers.
  15. I liked your post (I agree with most of it), but the bit in bold is pure, freshly distilled, utter bullshit.
  16. IT'S COMING HOME!!! ⚽️⚽️?⚽️⚽️
  17. As with the previous games, I'm impressed with a big unit like Maguire keeping his cool while being pushed and prodded. He's probably what Tiny Taylor should've become.
  18. I agree there. Tonight's game is about 3 things: 1. Can we combat their effective directness against a back 3? 2. Can they cope with our set pieces? 3. Will England manage any open play goals, or at least pin back dome of their pace?
  19. And also that he was a @#/? for saying disabled people must be paying for sins in another life.
  20. Don't you mean Novichok?
  21. Oh dear. Gutted. What a shame.
  22. I think he just walked the walk...
  23. Wonder if Mowbray is looking st something like: ---------------------------Raya ------------Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Nyambe---------------------------------------------Bell -------Rothwell Smallwood Davenport ---------------------------Dack -------------------------Graham Just throwing it out there...
  24. You might be onto something there! Cross between Danny Dyer and Green Street.
