  1. I have no problem with tattoos but am a wimp and won't get one myself. Personally don't see the fuss about them on professional people like teachers either tbh, but that's a whole other debate. Depends on context ofc.
  2. Good stuff! Having been mod alongside K-Hod and Tom, I'm certain the site is going to be fine. You've done a great job Glenn and Ste!
  3. Just to give folk an idea of where I'm 'at': For my first decent bike ride since I was 16, I did 5.3miles in an hour on a borrowed mountain bike, in jeans, with my massive Waitrose coat on (same as those huge Highway Maintenance coats). It was from the bottom of Pendle Way (near Wellfield Primary School), up Pendle Way, ignore the J9 double roundabout and straight down the A671 to the big Tesco at Padiham. After coming back up the A671, I turned left onto Lakeland Way to make my way back down to the bottom. Thought I'd best do a route with a good solid uphill climb to test myself straight away.
  4. Been to Ewood Bikes and first thing that struck me is they actually listened! Recommended a Hybrid and actually steered me towards cheaper options (£440 for a Merida Speeder sounds exceptionally reasonable)! Other vitals: Pair of padded cycling shorts, front and rear lights, new helmet. I was impressed with their straight advice and not trying to oversell. I'll try out the spare bike I mentioned, but it'll certainly be Ewood Bikes I buy anything from.
  5. I might pay a trip to Ewood Bikes this afternoon, see what they say Cheers for the advice so far o2g. Reckon I'll start with the spare road bike my gf's dad has and see if I actually like dry runs first. I think my employer DOES do the bike scheme (I'm sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere) and there are showers/changing rooms. I'll report back ?
  6. Considering cycling to work (not thought it through or anything, literally just started thinking about it) and would like some advice. Here are the facts and Qs: 14miles each way. Bike type: Road or Hybrid? As a newbie and due to cost, Hybrids look good, or should I look at a second-hand road one? Clothing: Can I get away with relatively normal clothing? I have underarmour and reflective running gear from my Marathon training last year if that's any use? Helmets: Any particular recommendations? I have one already (somewhere in the garage) but are there any good value ones to look out for? I've heard Foray are decent. GoPro: Worth having one? AOB: Anything else I need to consider? I wold only be doing it as a commute and only a few times a week. 3 days, I work 11.30am til 8.30pm which sounds like they'll be easier re: meeting traffic. Sorry about the randomness and seemingly thoughtless aspect of this. Just find cycling sites very awkward to negotiate and would rather get 'human' advice from here.
  7. Don't let JAL know about this!
  8. In that case, I would say Tomlinson in the middle (instead of Evans), Nuttall up front alongside Samuel, and either Hart or Doyle in place of Williams at lb. The cbs, I'm a little unsure of because we are already a bit weak there and it may be that the partnership (Wharton and Platt) is better than placing either individual alongside Mulgrew. Then again, a back 4 of Nyambe, Wharton, Platt, Doyle would have no excuses in terms of chemistry
  9. I think the answer is to blood the ones in positions we need by having them ready on the bench: Lb (assuming Williams is now moved to centre back): Hart and Doyle should battle for it. Cb: Wharton has already had some games, not a big leap to blood him in. Cm: Tomlinson as a sub for Evans or Smallwood. St: Nuttall. Cases can be made for many others, but I'd go with those.
  10. Being fair, Nuttall is also a Mowbray signing. He, like us, must feel like he's stumbled on someone quite magic. With his name, it's written in the stars he'll be great for us!
  11. I think GRRM is right to stay away so that it doesn't influence his writing. Wish they'd stuck to 10 episodes to flesh out the details more (that's what made it so great in the first place).
  12. While I get it, I think a shock death is coming. Imo, Cersei in the finale. Also think I've worked out Beric Dondarrion's 'purpose'. He's forever wondering why the Lord of Light keeps bringing him back. Maybe he's killed again North of the Wall, but before Thoros can get to him... the Night King does. Imo, Dondarrion keeps being reborn because HE is the Wight they capture as proof for Cersei. His purpose is to finally be reborn by ice, not fire.
  13. It's people realising the effect of something and having empathy with fellow fans. Certainly don't think it's 'just moaning' or there wouldn't be the outrage there is. The club should start the very least be providing a commentary stream at games for VI fans, even if every other part of RR is closed.
  14. Can't get it off work! Gutted.
  15. Can you go to PMs? Or at least put your willies away in public, it's unpleasant viewing.
  16. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10980119/coventry-1-3-blackburn Looks as if we dominated tbh. Happy with those highlights as a turnaround from Saturday. Let's use it for Donny and get ourselves a home win! I'll be in Disneyland Paris for that game!
  17. Injured or 'injured'...ski?
  18. No Lenihan involved at all? Is he off ski?
  19. Didn't Souness believe our Worthington Cup win was what drove us away from the relegation places because our Cup form was where we were winning? I might be misremembering, I was only 11.
  20. Never seen you so cheerful Ozz
  21. It's the name of the game tbf. Need shootout players to be Super Troopers rather than Dancing Queens.
  22. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40737849?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport In light of the above, perhaps Rovers should offer to arrange a testimonial vs Cardiff next summer?
  23. I think a flat rate of 30% tax would work but you'd have to increase the tax threshold to £15k or so to make it politically viable.
  24. It's mostly based on convolutions of European history I started during Season 4!
  25. Thrones is back on! What do we think so far? Any new conspiracies?
