Product on pitch is 95% of that for me. I agree though more creative work is needed. Someone brought the June thread up on the forum- talk of riverside development, I’d personally pay a bit more for a decent safe standing in future if it was offered.

I genuinely respect anyone who could do 5 days, AND A SATURDAY with school children! I’d be in serious trouble for language towards ref probably...!
-
£30 is too much for a standard ticket for any game in my opinion, but (perfect scenario presented aside) I still don’t buy that most people wouldn’t know to pre order or, to put it another way - I think it’s probably more useful to those preaching/criticising the club as “#ripoffrovers” rather than the club itself, converting last minute sales into registered customers!

Dominic Raab. Edit - it’s more the reaction that’s important. If you know who he is, merely a bonus

Look it’s the dismissive grouping stuff I find now funny. I may fall into your hardcore group but I would love to see more olive branches to past “hardcore” now “casual”.

Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st June
JBiz replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You won’t hear me calling this board negative these days it’s as balanced as it’s ever been. If anything, I brought more negativity to it by being a bit of a **** towards the “excuse” of a 3 quid surcharge. Still - if I’m completely honest, it’s the price overall that could be more accessible, better tiered pricing for example, more local promotions, rewards for repeat custom etc. The idea that a 3 quid 1-3pm is the “over the edge pushing” thing is what irked me considerably. -
Supporters Consultation Meeting - Thursday 21st June

Attendances top of the list...sounds familiar to this place eh. -
Well I tend to use a few sources for that information and im well aware footballers wages are generally reported post tax so the club are paying 40% more on every contract + NI. That said, there’s no more “Rhodes contracts”.. (one of a few highs in terms of return) and the Lowes, the average squad guy on 20+ a week. Wasn’t Jake Kean on the same deal? Anyway- footballs broken Mercer. When someone is prepared to pay Andre Gray £5m a season, you are fortunate to get an Armstrong for 1/8th of the same cost. Lucky bag principle my arse.

Prices could come down but at the same time I just feel it’s been cheap for nearly 20 years, at one time ridiculously cheap - £199 for an adult season ticket in the premier league? I think promotion pledges are a good idea personally but I think a loyalty scheme would be even better. 1% off for every year you’ve bought an ST up to 40%. Reward those who’ve sat through Edinho Junior and co....
-
I don’t think there’s a single player at Ewood on 20k+ a week. Last year in league 1 - the top earners in the division; Powell, Mulgrew, Evans, Shaun McDonald and Danny Graham - and Charlie was on 14k on his last deal. I think 16/7k is probably in his new deal with a 30% promotion bonus or something but it’s a big step to even the most average premier league players. For instance, the eye watering figures Aston Villa paid last season to finish runners up in the play offs... There is a big step between “having money” and throwing literally 100s of millions at second division promotion. Football is completely F’d up
-
Definitely needs to be pushed to the FF that we need more creative and community work... Theyll probably point out they’ve been voted community club of the NW for about a hundred years in a row but the Accrington example is as strong evidence that more generous and modern techniques are required. We have a hell of a lot more capacity!

80million of cost between 89 and 2002? That doesn’t sound much even considering what we won and the exponential “football” inflation, especially compared to 150m for us now - 2009-2018. Dont need to get into our old discussion on intent - we both agree though on it being their (Raos) legacy; mismanagement costing millions. Maybe they’re a bit more encouraged recently, since their probable 150m loss 12 month ago, has been turned into probably a 100m loss now by simple value of playing staff. The thing I always find mind boggling with “Venkys” is the money they’ve always plunged into the academy. What better excuse was league 1 to bin it off? The factor of our team being chock full of graduates isn’t an accident. In fact, I’d argue the grade one cost alone plus staffing was probably more expensive than our total season ticket takings in league 1. They have kept that going - although I recall we filled it with Portuguese dross for a short time. Kinder and Bowyer sorted it out (allegedly!)
-
How much would 10,000 blue and white Santa hats cost then?
-
Not even a nibble, Boris.
-
I’m very much the same. I have looked forward to games that seasons before I would dread and vice versa. The opportunity to see a few “unfashionable” local clubs last season was too good of an opportunity to miss out on!
-
I’ll try and make this easy for you Boris; I don’t think it’s as much of a problem as people are suggesting it is. One poster even changed his story from being put off by “ticketing policy” to geographical reasons after one response - and another I’m “trolling” apparently, is on his 3rd or 4th account of the year.... The reality is simple. Whilst this avoidable cost might be not helping, the only key hindrance to filling up Ewood is attraction of the tie. You know, you can view casual fans/lapsed fans and their reasons in your own way without needing to be frustrated because I have my own opinion on them...
-
Wouldn’t describe it as an urge, just frustration. I get frustrated at others not supporting the club since turnover x decent decisions = better prospects. Obligation isn’t the word I’d use but I wouldn’t refer to it like a standard “business” either like some. As RF says, I don’t support and have criticised the charge, I just don’t think it’s worthy of the level of outcry. Like I’ve said a dozen times, it’s a very suitable excuse to replace the “I’m not funding corruption” tag of yesteryear. Fair enough on the bank account but you did say; “He has been to more away games than home simply because of the Ewood ticketing policy.” This is exactly what I am saying - it’s convenient to use pricing as the reason at current, when the on pitch product and direction is better in recent times. In your sons case, geographical - moving away. * The last season we averaged 10k more, or 23k was 2008. There’s no coincidence this was in the premier league under Big Sam (who didn’t lose many home games) and it’s also no coincidence we had much cheaper STs and more offers, because the TV revenue subsidies made our attendance money “Chicken feed”.
-
It’s hard to argue with majority of key decisions taken in the last twelve months. That doesn’t mean they’ve fixed their cock ups. Whilst they continue to hire decent people and invest in the team - it becomes less of deterrent to lapsed fans or more casual to return. The price and surcharge are taking up that mantle.
-
The simple fact is the habit will return when they are engaged by the product, not some "imaginative" marketing scheme. I'm not suggesting this is the best solution, I am saying it is not a valid excuse for none-attendance. It is merely being jumped on as such. The perfect excuse now the owners are actually holding up their side of the bargain!
-
Firstly why do you need a bank card when you can phone up, pre order and then pay cash? Secondly - your entire argument about being difficult to do business with is ironically punctuated by your lack of ability to pay via bank? Come on, its 2018 for christ sake. Thirdly - if your son had a problem with the cost of the tickets at home... How on earth is he justifying going to away Games? They are generally the same or more expensive. No offence intended, but your argument as rationale is flawed. I have some opinions about improving sales at Ewood but I don't think anyone can turn around and say the sole reason for not being involved or support is the customer relationship - its not second to none anymore, but its certainly not the joke people are suggesting.
-
I thought they also wanted to boost the computer system for targeted advertising - something you don’t get from cash last minute sales? How many is it putting off then? We both agree it would be better scrapped but the argument you and others are trotting is its of-putting
-
To add - the fifteen quid OG spent on surcharges is the same price as a none ST reward scheme... Which funnily has a benefit that means you can order tickets late without paying the cost surcharge! If the club was “ripping people off” they wouldn’t be offering ways round the cost Boris.
-
I would’ve picked the phone up and explained the problem and my circumstances because then at least you’d know for certain whether there is alternative or if the club are steadfast in their approach in trying to take extra money from you! Maybe you should try that since the feedback on here would be much more valuable than reading more of Boris’s Bullshit It’s possible to pre-order and cancel tickets too. I’m not sure if that comes with a cost but both yours and @gumboots experiences don’t change my opinion that this has been turned into a mountain from a molehill.
-
Strange because I don’t see any valid reason why it should be paid when it can be avoided simply and easily.
-
The cost doesn’t help, but it’s not the hindrance you and others are suggesting. Said it before, say it again; it’s the pe rfect excuse for some who simply cannot be arsed. It’s not punishing anyone for wavering- it’s a cost for not being organised perhaps but that’s about it. This idea that it’s a sleuth “tax” or a way to underhandly rip fans off and thus a crucial hindrance to swelling the gate is utter nonsense. No - your mate Boris the Blueboy Johnson is suggesting the “waggot” influence at Ewood is creating the moniker “rip off rovers”. I asked you if you felt the pricing for Rotherham was a rip off and you couldn’t answer the question. Matty Blue managed to answer it. If a £3 pound cost that can be negated by preordering, joining a reward scheme or arriving 125 minutes before the game is tantamount to a “rip off” or seriously dodgy club policy; I hope you never have to book a taxi in clitheroe...!
