  1. My last post on this as we’ve certainly gone off topic. I understand that people get upset or lose control of their emotions but it makes me angry when this kind of language is used with regard to a guy who has only ever tried his best for us (I didn’t have the same problem with choice language for Kean ?).
  2. Liverpool are one of the biggest names in world football, their scouting network is world class, and from top to bottom they have connections with the elite of the footballing world. We are Blackburn Rovers and we play in English football’s second tier. Perhaps that gives you a clue as to why we gamble and overspend on British players rather than get world class youngsters from European clubs.
  3. Yeah we bought a large number of young Portuguese players in not so long ago, how did that work out again? Every transfer is a risk, I agree that Brereton has been a massive flop, and Gallagher hasn’t been very impressive, but it’s disingenuous to suggest that we could’ve done much better by throwing the money at several other players.
  4. TM has been winning a fair amount of games imo. We’re mid table in the championship and within touching distance of the playoffs in our second season after promotion from league one. That’s why I think the criticism is OTT. Regardless of performances, the atmosphere in this board has really soured and it’s become a bit of an effort to trawl through all the relentless, depressing criticism to get to any real news. Can you honestly not remember any offensive or personal language being used about Mowbray? I could quickly find examples of him being called a miserable sod, a fucking idiot, a dinosaur, a clueless twat, if you like. But I don’t think there would be much point as I’m sure you’re aware of all that really. There’s nothing wrong with fans venting and I’m sure we’ve all lost the plot with different managers over the years, good and bad. However there is a bit of a echo chamber in here at times and I think it creates a bad atmosphere and encourages some posters to outdo each other in OTT criticism and relentless negativity about every aspect of the club. That’s why I think Chaddy was right to make reference to OTT negativity and why I agreed with your suggestion that you must have become desensitised to the atmosphere here.
  5. I think you must have become de-sensitised K-Hod. This board has become a very negative and depressing place to get Rovers news or keep up with matches. Every comment from Mowbray is pounced on and analysed for ways to discredit him and make it look like he is lying, cowardly or foolish. Personal and offensive insults are now common words in use to describe him and false narratives are pushed at every opportunity. I accept that a majority of fans on this site are not happy with how things are going but there's an over-reaction on here every single day! Tbh it's very difficult to listen to all the time and I am surprised that you haven't noticed it.
  6. We need to find a different way to get forward cos nyambe is having no luck out there at all. Evans and Travis in the middle aren’t capable of creating much either and without tosin we struggle to pass it out from the back. Not looking good so far.... no shots yet for us and all the possession is for Wigan ?
  7. We’re struggling out there, can’t get a grip on this game and when we go forward we’re cut open with quick pressing and accurate passing. Their final ball has so far thankfully been lacking and Walton and lenihan have managed to keep us clear so far. Walton very well out of the box for a clearance, he’s impressed me recently.
  8. By amber is getting nothing down the right. Downing however has been excellent so far. I’m nervous watching this, Wigan look dangerous but lenihan has been immense so far
  9. Thanks DE. I’ve used mame before on a PC to run neo geo games (mainly metal slug ❤️) but it was years ago and I’m sure I’ll need some sort of guide to get this up and running!
  10. I’m hoping to get a raspberry pi for Xmas and I’m planning to use it to play retro arcade/console games. Has anybody here tried that? I can’t wait to play some of the classic arcade games of my youth but I’m thinking it can’t be as simple as installing retropie and mame, is there a lot of config involved to get it up and running? Finally, any recommendations on good controllers or joysticks?
  11. Lenihan is a good shout. He’s turned into a good no-nonsense centre back and he’s (sort of) one of our own.
  12. Gallagher has been excellent apart from not scoring. He never stops running and has decent feet.
  13. Might be a good idea to bring Armstrong on now. They’re gonna throw everything at us and a quick counterattack with his pace against tired legs could pay off. We’re lucky that their finishing boots aren’t on, just had a great chance blazed wide.
  14. Yes, we are playing very well. We press and look composed on the ball whe Bristol city lookout of ideas and tired. Maybe TM was right to rotate the squad a bit ?. I’d love for brereton to score now ?
  15. Brereton has been good and has just missed a final ball. He’s certainly throwing himself about and working hard. I’d like to see him stay on the pitch in the second half to see if he settles into the game a bit more, he has been out for a long time with injury after a fairly disastrous first season. Holtby showed a bit of class near the end but overplayed his pass a little. Bennett has played well and even Bell has been dependable. Nyambe is my choice for best player so far.
  16. I think he’s bereft of confidence. He’s getting stuck in and trying at least. Had a lovely run into the box early on and then seemed to panic so it came to nothing. A loan move could be good for him.
  17. It’s been entertaining so far, a proper championship match. Worryingly I think Bristol city have had the better of it despite being 1-0 down.
  18. This game could be 3-1 to them, they’ve missed some great chances.
  19. Brereton has no confidence, that was poor in the box after a good run ?
  20. If we lose it’s always “ALL on Mowbray” according to you but if we win it’s somehow lucky or somehow miraculously down to your opinion being psychically transmitted into TM’s brain. Change the record please. The notion that the team which won4 in a row was the “fan’s choice” and that TM is purposefully going against that to send a message is laughable.
  21. I agree that Bell doesn’t fill me with confidence but Downing can’t play all the time. You need to work on your calming exercises.
  22. Unfortunately for us, football prestige does not matter once the game kicks off. I’d be happy to stay unbeaten, Bristol City have been tough opponents for us in the past and our squad seem to be feeling the strain, plus Bradley Dack is out.
