Savage is like one of those people who has a massive unfortunate birthmark on their faces. Everyone looks at it, no-one likes it, it wont go away but its just doing what it was made to do. And if it`s on your face, you just have to get on with it.

Having watched the match and the celebrations, and read all the reports and stories, I get the impression that we have actually won the Ashes already. We are one defeat, nay one batting collapse away from losing the Ashes still. Theres a lot of hard yakka left in this series.

We had all the quality play last night. As everyone has said, Kuqi is no Lineker in the box is he...but bless him he tries really hard. Swap Kuqi for Bellamy last night and we would have won easily for me. Whatever happened to Robbie Keane? He was captain last night and didn`t touch the ball all match! Top marks for both sets of supporters too-BBE impressed me in the Darwen End, and even the Riverside woke up. Spurs fans were great too, probably 4000 all of whom got behind their team. Another reasonably enjoyable night at Ewood...who`d of thought it!

In fact it would make for a very interesting poll-What do you think is the biggest contributing factor in the alarming decrease in our crowds? Overprice tickets? Poor standard of entertainment? Lack of atmosphere these days? Petty stewards? No terracing? Unable to identify with players these days? Price of refreshments?

If you ask me, and normally no-one does, I reckon we`ve had it really, in terms of 25 K home crowds. Less and less are interested these days, and there`s little chance of them ever coming back. Take the United game last season, what was it 25,000? 8K of which were United? Its become the game that ate it self to death.
