  1. By support, do you mean supporting him and getting behind him at games? Or do you mean not giving your opinion on him on a messageboard?
  2. Maybe two of them could resign and join a Man City Fans Forum? In all seriousness, interesting read. Thanks for posting.
  3. Just had a look backm Conway, Evans, Smallwood, Palmer all started in midfield that night with Arma upfront on his own. That was a team set up for a pasting!! I recall it was a ood job we had Raya. I've no issue with Johnson or Downing but not sure we needed them both.
  4. We've replaced him with someone the Wigan fans thought wasnt really good enough, and they saw him for two years.. Of course I'll give him a chance but Im hardly sure it's an upgrade. As for the question posed on the last page, if we now brought a good centre half in because of the money we have freed up then I would be ok with the transfer. As it is, it is a bit underwhelming.
  5. Worrying that the Wigan forum I linked to a few pages back said he was a good shot stopper but poor on crosses and commanding his area. Pretty split on there if they wanted him to stay.
  6. Wigan Forum discussing signing Walton permanently at the end of last season. https://forums.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/christian-walton.94382/ Mixed views. General view - Good shot stopper. Iffy on crosses and doesn't command his area.
  7. Of course you can bring players through and improve players, but we have been working with Mulgrew, Lenihan and Williams for quite a while now and its blatantly obvious they can't attack balls in the air. We may find in time that we can promote from within and solve that problem. However the frustration for some is that it appears we are bringing in bodies in positions we didn't need, whilst we have neglected the centre half problem for 4 previous transfer windows and so far this one. If we go into the season after the transfer window shuts with a centre back pairing from the above 3 players I have named it will be incredibly poor, as we will concede the same type of goals again and again like we did last year. If you are unsure of the problem watch the Leeds injury time winner again, or the first goal we conceded last season at Ipswich. A new keeper isn't solving that aerial problem.
  8. Just seen the Mansfield highlights. Good to see us defending corners as badly as usual ! Any sign of that centre half yet.
  9. In all fairness, I'm not a fan but I've seen worse. At the end of the day we see the team in it maybe once every 3 weeks. I stopped buying replica shirts 20 years ago. I think it's the people who buy them regularly who are most annoyed. They probably actually want to part with £50 to the club to buy it but dislike it enough to not bother.
  10. " So Mr Bauer, everything is agreed. Just sign the contract, you'll be a Blackburn player and then we will get some PR pictures of you in this new away kit." "Err, can I just nip to the toilet please..........."
  11. I made my feelings known on the transfer thread but he's here now. Hope he can prove himself as a main man of the team rather than just a squad strengthener. Another bonus is he's probably better at defending corners in the air than most of our defenders! Welcome back Gally.
  12. Adrian is an interesting name. I think that would be a great signing. If we signed him or Ruddy I think that would be a big boost. Prefer Hart over Carson.
  13. A Birmingham fan I deal with through work asked me what I thought of Sam Gallagher when they signed him. I said "Don't expect a premier league striker. He's a bang average championship striker" 6 months later I saw him again and he said " he isn't even that good" Whilst statistically he got a good return last time, I didn't think he was brilliant in general. A bit underwhelmed to be honest. I was hoping for an upgrade on DG but I feel we've just got a decent backup. Injury-free, I still think the best signing for next season could be Chapman.
  14. Bollocks. The club would love to charge extortionate matchday fees for all games but the backlash would be huge. They are using Sheff weds and Leeds own pricing policy to help justify their own. How can Rovers be sticking up for their own fans by ripping off their own fans who decide to go on the day? How will fleecing Leeds and Sheff weds fans, who don't control their clubs pricing, help bring ticket pricing under control? What is the justification for the £3 match day surcharge? Rovers smell a way of getting more (money) for less (attendees) and have gone for it.
  15. I agree. But for people who aren't hooked, and aren't going to commit £340+ in July, they are getting priced out. I know several people who went to a handful of games last year. They aren't on here. They aren't on the Rovers website. They will never know about the 1875 club to offset these increases. If they wan to draw attention to Sheffield Weds ripping fans off, they should have gone £10 a ticket, filled the ground and gone on a PR offensive
  16. And casual fans, who may decide last minute to go, are shit on twice. Once with another price increase and again with the ridiculously unjustifiable £3 match day fee. Ive not slagged Waggot off once since he's been here but that's just taking the mick out of our own fans. So, Leeds and Sheffield Wed don't care about their own fans and rip them off at £40 a ticket. In response, we rip the same sets of fans off ourselves. Do you think either of those two clubs are going to reconsider their pricing because of this? Sheffield Weds £40 for god sake.
  17. I didn't log in to be honest. Just browsed. I'm out now so cant check.
  18. Still same. Sometimes on Chrome I get this As Stuart says, definitely started occurring at the same time as the skin change. Just checked Firefox again and that works fine.
  19. Stuart - just give Firefox a try and see if that behaves ok.
  20. I'm on an 4th gen ipad on OS 10.3.3. Safari loads the main board page but won't load specific threads. Well it didn't but having just tried it as I type this it has partially loaded one then froze. Eventually it gives the "A problem occurred with this web page so was reloaded error" and clears the screen. After about 40.seconds the page does reload but you can't scroll it as it is so slow and eventually it clears and gives the same error. Chrome loads the individual threads page but is very slow loading. When you scroll the page up or down it just scrolls to white and then takes about 10 econds to load what should be on screen so is not usable. Firefox seems to work ok
  21. I can get to the messageboard ok on my iPad. (10.3.3) Using Safari, if I click on a thread kt gives "A poblem occured with this web page so it was reloaded" and stays blank. On Chrome it gets to the messageboard and just doesn't load the thread. Just freezes the tab and doesn't load. No problem until today. Any ideas?
  22. The fact he says Darwen Cricket Club is only 5 minutes from Ewood Park tells you all you need to know about that post.
  23. I do think Davenport will be fresh blood and hopefully a positive effect on the squad from last year so I disagree with the 2 usual suspects. But rounded on? Lol. Give over. That's a similar overreaction as the bandwagon comment I quoted someone on yesterday. It's comments like that that give the impression that people who are unhappy with Mowbray are unreasonable bullies who aggressively shut down conversation. No. They just voice their opinions which some posters, and the club, probably don't like to hear.
