Saw The Treatment again in Manchester last night. Quality young classic rock band who are decent in the studio but superb live.

I would expect martin Ollson to be away before the end of the window so I am leaving him out of equations. If he stays then that's a big bonus. However Orr looked good going forward but, after a couple of solid early games, struggled towards the back end of last season. You can't fault his commitment but that will only get you so far. The same applies to Jason Lowe. Neither looked a premiership defender at the end of last season and I have no reason to think they will be top class in this league. Dann should be extremely competent in this league bit I thought he would be a good signing last season and he was a walking disaster. From what I remember a back four of Givet, Dann, Lowe and Hanley didn't cover themselves in glory at championship Cardiff last year.

That's your opinion stated as fact. Personally I'm not too sure if Jason Lowe, Bradley Orr and Marcus Ollson are good enough to be in a top 6 championship side, especially with the points that onlyonejackwalker made above. Also the jury is out on Hanley. He may well join the ranks of Taylor and Broomes who had to step into the fold young and never lived up to their promise.

I was just beginning to get excited with Maljimar as I stood to win quite a bit if it even finished in the first 5 but unfortunately it slithered and fell at Bechers second time around.

I've backed Maljimar E/W at 40's at the start of the week and also had £3.50 on The Package at 95/1 on Betfair back in January. I backed Big Fella Thanks last year (see back in this thread) and he ran well but didnt seem to last home and faed into 6th. I'll be a bit cheesed off if he wins this year. It's a strange one cos, according to the two people I know that were in the pub, the police just locked everyone in for well over 45 minutes. Anyone wanting to go home for there tea or whatever was rudely refused. I'm not for one minute saying that allows you to chuck bottles at the police but I reckon a number of the charges are not football/burnley releated but caused by annoyance at being locked in when they'd only gone there for a quick drink. Was anyone actually in there?

I've not been Benni's biggest fan for a while now ( cos of attitude and application) but he has played well against Chelsea and Liverpool in the last 7 days. The frustrating thing is why can't he do it every week. It's never been ability that's in question.

Tonights Man U game is the first one I've watched this year and it reminds me why I don;t bother. United are going through the motions. Watch Gary Neville for the second CSKA goal as a prime example/ If he had shown any effort he'd probably have got a tackle in. This part of the tourney is just one big money making racket. I only tuned in because I thought it was Liverpool tonight and at least they've managed to get themselves into a position that's worth watching.

I don't know. I remember a lot of people trying to play down the Rangers fans unrest in Manchester until the CCTV footage was released by the police. Some of the reports play it down but other don't sound good at all. I suspect that footage may eventually circulate showing it as being very bad by modern day standards. That's rubbish. During the 90's I used to go to about 6 or 7 away games a season. In that time I got a bit of a kicking at Chelsea (first day of 93/94 season) and punched at Leeds (5-2 loss one Easter). Both times we were in a group of three walking away from the ground.

Taylor won the Las Vegas desert classic tonight beating barney in the final. Rather strange interview Barney gave after, whereby he conceded that when he moved over from the BDO he thought he was better than Taylor but now he knows he's not. He's looked a broken man for the last 6 months.

In that case why didn't Rovers sell Neill almost 18 months before he left in the January transfer window. He had repeatedly said that he wasn't going to sign a new contract.

A lack of respect? He showed more respect to the club than a lot of players by telling them 18 months in advance of what he wanted to do. He gave Rovers the choice of cashing in or keeping him. That alone was more respect to the club than the Shearers, Hendrys, Bellamys and Suttons showed. He reacted to the crowd after they booed him constantly through a game whilst he was still playing for Rovers.
