  1. Does anyone else find James Wade annoying. He just comes across as a bit full of himself to me. I bet he was a right pain in the backside in his pub league.
  2. This is now taken. Thanks
  3. I was going to put my hardback copy of Alan Shearers "my illustrated career "on ebay. However it very rarely sells I cant be bothered. If anybody wants it for free and wants to pick it up from Blackburn drop me a PM. Alternatively, if anyone wants me to post it to them and is willing to pay just the postage costs by paypal (I'll get the exact cost from the post office) PM me as well. It's in very good condition. First come first served.
  4. I remember being sat near the front of the bottom tier with the Rovers fans. As ever at Goodison the view was awful. When THAT goalmouth scamble happened you had no idea if the ball was 1 yard or 8 yards off the goal-line. The relief when it was eventually hoofed clear was almost audible.
  5. Wonder whatever happened to AC/DO , the Burnley based ACDC cover band. I only came across them months before they split. Shame cos they were superb.

I Took My Baby On A Saturday Bang Boy Is That Girl With You Yes We're One And The Same Now I Believe In Miracles And A Miracle Has Happened Tonight But, If You're Thinkin' About My Baby It Don't Matter If You're ... edit - never realised how sinister those lyrics were. Good job they weren't read out in court !!
  7. Not quite in the class of Pans Labyrinth, but Guillermo Del Toro's The Devils Backbone is quite good for anyone who's not seen it. Another subtitled slightly strange supernatural film set in the Spanish Civil War.
  8. I used to wind the Bolton fan up at work with that one. "Just because you don't have any rivals, don;t try and bully in and be ours".
  9. Lets calm down and see if we actually do appoint him. I still believe if the board really wanted him he'd be here now. If they're prepared to look at an unproven, inexperienced Alan Shearer first then they obviously aren't that keen.
  10. What a load of truths, half truths and codswallop. Still, some will believe it all.
  11. In that case you may have been a little bit blinkered for the past 12 months. You should have become hardened to the idea. He has regularly been letting slip comments about the lack of funding available to him at Rovers and how frustrating he finds it. These have been said mostly in the transfer window. It was also plainly obvious that he wanted the Newcastle job if he was offered it. If he wanted that job then it was always very likely that he'd consider the likes of City, Villa, Everton, Spurs etc..
  12. BBC are reporting that Hughes snapped up a bargain in Pedersen for £1.5mill. Think they'll find it was our previous trophy-winning manager who signed him. Not that I'm bitter
  13. I know it's been brought up elsewhere but I'm going to use this thread to re-ask this question:- After developments this week, would you be happy to see Mark Hughes still as manager of Rovers next season?? No in my opinion. Can't command respect from current and incoming players now. How can he persuade the likes of Bentley and Santa Cruz that this is the place to be after this.
  14. That is probably one of your best ever posts. Unfortunately I doubt many people will bother to decipher it.
  15. But he also did a cracking job for 80% of his time at Ewood and also won us our second major piece of silverware since the war so let's give it a rest eh.
  16. Game, set and match Lathund
  17. I waited that long for a decent poker site to bring out a non-java Mac client that I'd given up looking. However I've recently found out that Full Tilt Poker is now fully OS X compatible (and has been for a while apparently). Just making anyone who was in the same boat as me aware of this fact. It certainly passes Friday nights like this when I'm stuck in with nothing but a crate of beers.
  18. No. Because they boo their own players who are trying their hardest for the club. Cue comments about Lucas being a liability for the last few months of his career.
  19. His gesture towards the Blackburn End after he'd been booed by idiots for 90 minutes whilst still a Rovers player was rather trivial really. It's irrelevant where he wanted to go. He'd told Rovers 18 months in advance that he was leaving giving them the option to cash in if they wanted to. Shearer, Sutton, Bellamy, Hendry. All left of their own accord when it suited them.
  20. Darth Paul - I agree with what you say regarding Neills attitude in the pub. Unfortunately that's a problem with a lot of footballers who like to go out. Anyone who used to see Dunny out round Accrington during his first spell at Rovers will know that. I do have a problem with people who see Lucas as the anti-christ because he dared to want to leave Blackburn Rovers. Rover2U wasn't talking about events in the Knowles. He was talking about Lucas leaving and 'loyalty' to Blackburn. Neill left in one of the most dignified manners possible, keeping the club fully informed of the situation. So what if he wanted more money and a few years in London. It's his choice. Most of us have Rovers in our blood for life. The likes of Neill, Shearer, Bentley and Santa Cruz don't. To them it's a job.
  21. Boo Lucas boo hiss hiss. I wonder if you hate Shearer as much since he left far more dishonourably. He showed far less loyalty to Rovers by leaving the club when it suited himself and not keeping Rovers fully informed of the situation. Of course he isn't an arrogant aussie so you'll let him off. Shearer, Shearer, ra, ra, ra For the record I wouldn't have him Neill back as I don't think we miss him as much as I thought we would and don't think he would improve the team significantly, just the squad.
  22. Souness did well for us. Thinking back who else could we have got at that time who would have got us up in 16 months and then gone on to win a trophy. He gets abuse because of how we were when he left but if, god forbid, we were bottom of the league at next Christmas the same fickle people would be on here saying the same about Hughes. They'd be forgetting about the last few years. Ask yourself this. From when he arrived was Souness good for Blackburn Rovers ..... yes Did he leave at the right time for both parties ....... yes So why does he get the comments he does?
  23. I've no grudge against Lucas but this still made me chuckle. I like how the question is classed as resolved.
  24. At least you won't have lost as much as i did! The really annoying thing is that I backed it antepost at 20's 18's and 16's EW. Had I backed it on the day with on t'internet I'd have got paid out EW on 5th. I'm giving up on the horses now ............ after I've been to Newbury next Saturday.
  25. ignore post Barney 8-4 Wade 8-4 Manley 7-7 Taylor 8-5
