No. I just see the contradiction between your views now and what you said then.. -

I thought Bennet, Lenihan, Mulgrew and Evans were all immense. DG and Dack weren't at their best which make the win even more impressive. Would still prefer Williams over Bell but that's nit-picking. Leeds fans were very vocal going to the game. Enjoyed the walk back down branch road after the game much better. -

Stupid but to-be-expected superfan propaganda from you on the back of a good result. Almost as though you forget that you said you wouldn't go if Coyle was appointed. -
I thought he was a fish out of water again today on the wing.

The only real issues I have seen with Leeds fans during the 90s onwards was getting a chasing for no reason at Elland Rd at Easter 93 (lost 5-2, Strachan and Chapman ran the show) And then in and outside the Darwen End after Shearer scored the last minute winner in the Matt Busby minutes silence game in 94. To be fair very little over the years for a club with Leeds reputation.

If I, who comes on This board a lot and follows Rovers news in other media, doesn't know why Waggot said the surcharge is in place, what chance has the casual walk-on of understanding why they are getting fleeced £3. Im guessing it's staff costs. A well know pub in the area used to (may still) put the prices up on match day asthey has to bring in more staff to deal with more customers. But in reality they were bringing in more staff as they were selling more beer. Therefore the added sales should have covered the staff wages.

Football rule changes - what would you do?

Start giving fouls when the defender blatantly obstructs and pushes the striker when the defender is 'shielding' the ball to go out for a goal kick. They can get away with anything in that situation but as they feel a touch from a striker they go down and always get a free kick -
My dad did this for the last 15 years. Decide at 2pm. Just because you don't, it doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. Also, if there was a weekend only season ticket, I'd possibly opt for that instead of a full season ticket. You may get more on at the weekend with that season ticket but you could lose the same amount of home fans from midweek games. I don't think it's the right idea but it is the kind of different thinking which we should be looking at.

If the Leeds game kicked off at 3pm on Saturday, was £15 a ticket, wasnt on tv and the price was well publicised, you'd get an extra 2000 home fans on. People, talk about the spirit and connection between the team and the manager but that is between the existing attending fans and the players. You need to get people back in to Ewood and connecting with the team again. You need to break their habit of not attending anymore. Therefore you need to do special prices for the bigger and better games. Doing price promotions for the likes of QPR and Rotherham midweek isn't going to appeal to fans to 'break the habit' and return. My brother, who generally only attends when one of our group can't make it, would probably have come down on Saturday as an extra but it's £30 and on the box. There will be many, many others.

I'm a social season ticket holder. I go to the game and meet mates I only see once a fortnight and then spend 2 or 3 hours in the pub with them after the game. I don't see the red button stopping that. There are several games I go to a year where my mates can't make it and I'm on my own.I go to those as it's the only way to see them game and I'm interested. Had they been on tv I may well stop home and watch. Therefore the warning bells should be there. Its more likely season tickets pushing the £400 barrier, or missing a significant amount of games because it's midweek or unsociable kick off times, that will stop me renewing.

The enigmatic Jason Lowe vortex

Still watching .....? -
I went to the Forest game with two walk-ons who decided that day - mainly because sit was surprisingly sunny and they thought it would be a good day out. That's probably why there were queues.

It probably comes down to police costs. When in the Premier League we could pay for extra policing from the Prem money. Now we can't so we have to bow down to police demands. I'd sell the bottom tier to Leeds at the standard price, and then sell the top tier at £42. Make it clear from day one that the price will increase to cover policing and stewarding costs.

In practically every post I've said I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him play many more games from the start. However when he's one of our biggest transfer fees paid ever, you'd expect he'd be knocking on the first team door and showing glimpses. The fee is not the players fault. Even if he turns out to be woeful its not his fault (although don't end up going up Tokyo Joe's the night before relegation a la Kevin Davies). The whole deal just seems crazy based on the fee paid, our transfer history and the overall depth of the squad, and what he has shown so far isn't easing the situation.

The farcical policing situation doesn't help. I've spoken to 2 people already since Saturdays game who said they might go to the Leeds game, but when told it was 12pm kick off and on Sky's red button said they wouldn't bother.
-
They didn't. They gave it to a Bolton player.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/11034440.vote-who-are-bolton-wanderers-biggest-local-rivals/ I know a few and they all class us as their big local rival. Plus go and ask someone from Bolton if they are a Manc or a Lancastrian and see what reply you get.
-
Bolton is obviously sly a local derby but I don't class them as a local rival. I don't like losing any game but I particularly don't like losing the Burnley or Preston games. Bolton is like losing to Oldham or Stoke. Wigan fall in the same category although with some of their current staff and with last season it would be good to get one over on them.

I disagree Chaddy. Going 3 at the back didn't work really well. It stifled us going forward so much that we hardly got out of our own half. The 3 men at the back may have helped keep the clean sheet due to sheer numbers at the back, but we still got dominated in the air. The 'penalty' came from a knock down, they had another offside given against them in injury time after they had knocked it down, Wheater got his head on 2 corners, they won the vast majority headers and flick ons from the long balls from the back. We will get dominated in the air regardless of system until we're get alternative personnel at the back. All I've ever seen 3 at the back do for Rovers in the last 18 months is disrupt out attacking influence.
-
Positives:- 3 points. A great first 20 minutes Raya Rodwell Clean sheet Linesman Negatives:- 3 at the back. Our performance when DG is off his game. Getting caught in possession and giving the ball away in dangerous positions. Inability to win headers

We can't go defensive because they win 2 out of every 3 headers in our box. We have to keep taking the game to them.

If you see the replay of the Dack goal again, just watch J-Lowe. Shocking.

You constantly ignore the fact that it's not our jobs to know players when we have this argument. However, if you listed all of the players who moved clubs for £2million or less over the summer, plus all of the loan signings, plus all of the forwards who were linked with moves, either permanent or loan, in those price brackets then I would gladly point out some signings that may have been better. From what we have seen so far, it can't be difficult to find someone for £2million or less that would have contributed more than what Brereton has so far. However I'll reserve judgement until he has played more minutes in his preferred position but £7million is seeming massively over priced on what we have seen so far and his current professional statistics.
-
But if we have a crucial league game with a few injuries soon it will probably be Palmer that plays. Therefore I'd rather Palmer got his confidence up / playing competitively regularly. Unless of course we think Butterworth is as good / better in which case I'd play him.
