  1. Friedel Neill Amoruso Matteo Gray Emerton Ferguson Tugay De Pedro Dickov Djorkaeff Subs... encks, pedersen, jansen, stead, todd
  2. Im pleased with today, entertaining game and for the first time in a long long while we look like a premiership team and look a good threat to goal. Unfortunately the defence is getting worse. Dickov, ferguson and emerton were EXCELLENT! Youri had a good debut, jansen was ok, tugay wasnt bad. The defence, im not gonna bother talking about it but everyone knew the equaliser was mins away. And a special mention for jon stead....oh god. Now i remember being a bit worried last season when we signed him and he scored and everyones raving and talking about england. I was cautious although i kinda jumped on the stead bandwagon after the fulham game and i will always be thankful to him for keeping us up, because there is no doubt about it, he kept us up. Watching him though i just think he was a lower league player who was getting the lucky breaks. I remember the newcastle game thinking he did nothing, then he scored. This season he has been trying hard and having shots, aslong as he does that im happy, however we cant carry him for long because we need the points. Mark Hughes obviously thought the same and dropped hm today. I saw him warming up and thought, bring him on for youri and he will do ok and hopefully get his first goal. He came on and i dont think i could have looked too much further out of my depth than he did. He was terrible, and the dissapointment i could hear from all angles was painful. I kept hearing people whispering 'hes lost it' and today he looked knackered after 3 mins and couldnt do anything! I really am praying that he comes good and proves everyone wrong, part of me thinks after he gets a goal he will be fine and back on track, another part of me thinks we have a league 1 striker out of his depth.
  3. The rest of Nuclearsox's excellent post can be read further up the page I missed the game because of work, thanks for that! Great post!
  4. Great Day!!! Not got much else to add to whats been said already. Dickov is a revelation! The attacking options now are interesting for the cup game. Id give dickov a rest. Pedersen definately needs a run in the reserves, de pedro also needs a few games.
  5. Just read claire tomlinsons preview of the game, and i quote.... 'These two teams will have very different mentalities for the season: for Blackburn fourth from bottom will be good enough, but Portsmouth are expecting a little higher' behave yourself claire
  6. I still want dowie and not hughes! Come on JW, see sense and appoint Dowie, and if we have to get hughes i wont be happy with this joint club/country rubbish, that wont work. as for megson...god no i remember going to a blackpool match about 7 years ago against Hednesford town in the fa cup and they lost, it was that bad 4 fans ran to the dugout and started assaulting megson and ripping his jacket.
  7. Dowie is 26-1 on bet365. The more i think about it this is becoming a very good bet. Id be happy with dowie aswell and the palace fans seem to think hes in talks.
  8. Curbishley does seem a bit unrealistic but they havent had the best start to the season, although better than us but he may think he has taken charlton as far as he can. Rovers will offer more money, we have a good squad, probably better than charlton and good finances. He may see it as a step in the right direction, charlton were seen by many as possible bottom half of table candidates this season and he will want to go out on a high, they cant hold on to good players, just lost parker and jensen and the singings havent exactly been world class i,e murphy and jeffers!
  9. sky bet just slashed odds on hughes to 3-1, houllier from 9 to 8-1. advocat 7-1 curbs still 12's
  10. That is always the killer line that means 'i will leave if offered the job'. They always say that, trust me.
  11. If we win on saturday i can see parkes being named as manager until the end of the season at least.
  12. At least andy todd and matt jansen should get another chance. Im sure all jansen needs isa run in the team and the new manager wouldnt be afraid to drop stead if he starts playing badly. My main worry is the transfer window in january. I have t say though, if we fail to get strachan, which we probably will. And we are forced to look lower league... Steve McMahon - Plays attractive football, he is a winner, got Blackpool promoted from 3rd division at first attempt, following season won LDV, next season consolidated place, next season won LDV again. He is a good manager, Blackpool are just a mockery of a club with an idiiot as a chairman. Im convinced McMahon would do well in the prem with a good squad (which we have) and good resources.
  13. STEVE MCMAHON! although i can see me being the only person on here saying that so... Mark Hughes Paul Jewell Strachan Insidently, why all the hate for houllier being appointed. Hes a good manager, was just under intense pressure at liverpool to make them great againl. Could do ok for us.
  14. I am in absolute SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a text message from the club when i was half asleep in bed this monring and had to read it 5 times, i almost had a heart attack. Unbelievable. Totally unexpected. Get sir bobby in! or STEVE MCMAHON! Blackpool fans hate him but he is a quality manager if he has the resources.
  15. Ticket came through the post today. Im on Row T!! Now im no St james park expert but im sure thats nearly in the clouds.
  16. I wonder how matt jansen is reacting to this news!!! Bet he thought he was in with a shout when hearing about yorke
  17. Id just like to point out that my comment about 7 goals for perugia was slightly incorrect. Alan got it right, was 7 for coventry, 3 for perugia.
  18. well he scored 7 goals in serie a last season, more than yorke would. He is a the ripe old age of 22. We need competition up front. I dont see a problem. What the hell do you expect? Ronaldo? Shearer? perhaps we should of bid for rooney? behave
  19. on loan until end of season from perugia with a view to a permanent deal!
  20. The club has just confrimed the talks via text 'ROVERS can confirm that celtic have been given permission to talk to yorke in view of taking over his contract.' Now watch souness have a 'no way am i selling him' yorke style change of heart towards jansen.
  21. Im going on the train via carlisle. Hopefully we should sell out our allocation. I was looking forward to it but now Bobby has gone im dreading it. Last time this happened they beat shef wed 8-0
  22. Gutted at the end but you have to be pleased with that point. I am a happy man. We are unbeaten at ewood after 2 games!!! I am also so happy that brad has restored my faith in him. FIREDEL! Good days work. Everyone played well. Pedersen needs a few games, bet he didnt know half the players names today. Emerton was good! 1 worry, where was gray? was he injured, please god tell me souness hasnt fallen out with him.
  23. Very harsh. How can you even attempt to analyse his managerial skills when he is still a player. H could be good as a manager, could be bad. But pick his favourites? where the hell did that come from.
