  1. That is one film I definitely want to see, since seeing the trailers. I'm a fan of Frank Miller's work (loved Sin City, looking forward to the next movie installment) and like some of the decent comic to movie translations. Alan Moore's stuff I like too. V for Vendetta is good and looking forward to The Watchmen, seeing as it's the same director as 300.
  2. Just not surprised. When Mourinho first came to the Premiership the media were all smiles and brown-nosing. But now, as always, they're the first to stick the knife in what is a successful manager. But of course they always do to those that dare to speak out.
  3. Now that Ped is out for a couple of weeks, may be worth trying Emerton with set pieces?
  4. I do think that England has, grudgingly some very good individual players (and some average players that always get a game, no matter how badly they do at their clubs - but that's another matter) but for some reason, more than likely down to the management set up and certain egos, never seem to play well as a team. It was said on SSN this morning that the Spanish players were encouraged to take things from the training ground and think things out on the field for themselves, whereas the English players seemed to prefer to be coached what to do rather than think for themselves to get them out of situations. This could explain why technically, England isn't as good as compared to other nations, despite what the media hype suggests, IMO.
  5. I guess, as McClaren is still there, it'll probably be a case of history repeating if England qualify for the Euros.
  6. After his displays for us (and U21's) this season, I'm sure his name will get bandied about in the summer by the media anyway
  7. True but the game has changed since then, and so have United in that time too. I think that United next manager is more likely to be a big name manager with more credentials than Hughes. Although depends what Hughes can accomplish before ol RFW decides its time to go.
  8. I guess if Neill is really after money, I don't see why he doesn't follow Beckham and play in the US.
  9. That makes it look as though we're Big Club's feeder club! Or they keep buying our rejects.
  10. Good news! and just hope that Hughes and co can keep him off the treatment table and on the pitch. Plus it's good to have ###### off both Bruce & BFS in one go!
  11. Agree with that! Mind you, he was probably praying we came in for in after being shown around the Breezeblock
  12. Now seen Casino Royale - pretty good film, and quite a different feel for a Bond film. Right from the off, with the Black & White intro before the opening credits, it's definitely more gritty. You wouldn't know it's a Bond film. Looking forward to the next one.
  13. I suppose you could say our 'rivals' are Bolton & Wigan these days. Although not so much as them being the Big Local rivalry, just local and more or less the same level?
  14. You could use the Maxthon browser - http://www.maxthon.com. The same user layout as IE but with the tabbed browsing, been using that for ages after I had problems with Firefox, and no problems.
  15. If there is technology available then it should be used, as footy is seemingly one of the last remaining sports not using technology. But not constantly, probably more like in Rugby League, for controversial decisions, like for penalty decisions, goal-line clearances, sending offs. Will give the fourth ref in the stands, something to do. I would also agree that the standard of officiating is pretty inconsistent, and down-right appalling. Looks like Mr Hackett will be having quite a few meetings with managers. It definitely needs sorting out.
  16. Windows Media Player also rips from a CD to mp3 format, which is what I use to rip from CD, if need be.
  17. As already said, is probably the codec. If you use VLC Player to play it, with the correct codec, shouldn't be a problem to play back on a PC - http://www.videolan.org
  18. Dare I say it, that I think he has a point about the small-town mindset, and that we need to think on a national and not just local scale to survive in the longterm - don't ask me how though, that's up to the board and PR dept. I also agree with his view on Dunn, getting him back because he's local is null and void, unless he can prove his fitness and his determination to Hughes and co, then fair enough, but if not, I wouldn't bother.
  19. Looking forward to watching Casino Royale - some good reviews, only Bond film I've missed was the last one, although I don't think I missed too much. Saw The Prestige the other day. Now that film is very enjoyable. Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine all very good. Scarlett Johansson, well, only has a small role as the magician's assistant, but not outstanding. A few twist and turns throughout and at the end. Big kudos to director Christopher Nolan. Enjoyed Memento, Batman Begins and now this.
  20. Just a little something that I notice on my web travels
  21. Or you can try this website that does all the hard work for you. http://www.zamzar.com/
  22. I use Goldwave to open up, edit and convert audio files - http://www.goldwave.ca - simple and straightforward to use, which works for me! If converting files in bulk then I use Imtoo Mpeg Encoder (paid up version), probably similar to the Audio Encoder mentioned above.
  23. Considering the result, 1-0 against Man Utd isn't too bad a scoreline, and to be honest, with our current run at the moment, wasn't expecting a similar result from last season either. Hopefully we can snap this skid against the Spuds, which would be pretty sweet
  24. If Mark Hughes & co want him and won't bust the bank getting him, plus with the fact that Neill is a want-away, I don't see why we don't get him in. Although midfield is the priority in the January window.
