  1. Im going. usual seats in the BBE in anyone fancies buying me a pint.......?
  2. M65 from Preston may well be advised to come off the motorway at Junction 3 - follow the signs for Blackburn, second exit at the roundabout, turn right at the traffic lights and then right at the mini roundabout. Follow the same all the way to Ewood if you wish. There is plenty of free parking in this area if you get to the ground relatively early (around 1.30pm) near the church there is a car park on th eleft han dside, or alternatively accross the road from the (now) disused petrol station there is plenty of side street parking. Also I find it much quicker getting home from up here, although Livesey branch hill can be a hell of a walk especially after a defeat.
  3. and I predict a long hard season for Blackburn and their miserable, silent fans.
  4. We obviously have a small army of fans ready to take the place of those who the club alienates through their heavy handedness towards their own fans, the inconsistant approach they have towards home and away fans. They claim there is nothing they can do when everyone stands up. At Old Trafford last Tuesday there was 3500 turkish fans who were brilliant, standing and shouting and singing for an hour pre match. Midway through the first half the stewards waded in and made most of them sit down. Eventually the majority of them did. Being the kind of person I am i made some little notes in the second half. In the Darren End lower tier there was 39 stewards and 5 police officers in the Lower Tier. None of the making any effort to gets any of the 2000 or so fans to sit down.
  5. Following my lenghtly (good natured) discussion with the supervisor and team leader (and two others) towards the end of the second half I am making arrangement to speak with John Newsham concerning the issues. Interestngly around 50% of the chanting was directed at thew stewards - people are not happy. We should be supporting our team, the club dont seem to want this in a lot of ways.
  6. Our club is superb. Letters sent to every supports who sits on Row 26 or behind apparently. Including people who dont stand - just a general threatening letter to all our fans. WE struggled to get to 17000 Rovers fans today! Whilst on one hand the club claim to be working hard to generate sales, with the other hand all the hard work gets thrown out of the window. less than 10,000 season tickets next season.......... ?
  7. Stop moaning about the penalty-issue. Charlton had the exact same thing in the 1st half. How can a player remove their arm from 2 meters? And NO, holding the hand there ISNT an "un-natural" placement of the arm! Holding the arm into you body is. We lost because we sucked, and the players used sucked. Bad managing. dont talk like a knob!!!their claim was arm tucked away and no way of moving away...our shout was with arm stuck out to the ball !!! bad management how the fk do you work that out?we hit the post and had 64_% possesion bad finishing maybe ...but management f me with a cactus ...your talking @#/? S/he means that we didnt play MGP. bored...............
  8. HEAD, BRICK WALL, ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHUT UP!!!! Hes woeful, inadequate, apalling. He might come good in a while, not now, he is not the answer to our problems.
  9. cuidado im bored of reading about how mgp is the answer to all our problems, and that with him we would have won tonight.
  10. It is of course an academic debate!! No one would want Brockhall!! Leeds training ground was a different kettle of fish altogether!
  11. Grizfoot read what the campaign is about. As Amanda and the other poster some months ago said, it is about CHOICE. If people want to sit down thats great, if people want to stand up, that should be allowed. What the standupsitdown campaign is trying to acheive is just that. If you want to stand you buy a ticket in the standing area, if you want to sit you buy a seat in the sitting area. Easy. Youd have thought so. Surely that is much better than the nasty situation we have now where someone stands and the bloke behind says "ere mister sit down" and all kinds of agro breaks out.....
  12. Wasnt Ibrox a result of too many people trying to leave the ground at the same time and a crush inside the stairway? Nothing at all to do with sitting/standing on the terraces?
  13. A lot of policing at football is prevention rather than cure, hence guiding and escorting fans to grounds from railway stations/bus stations etc. Whilst it may be slightly inconvenient for your average joe, it is much less inconvenient that getting your head kicked in by mindless thugs. Im not convinced that the vast majority of people who have commented have individualised it, the police have evidence (of whatever type) against people and in has been presented to a court. So it's not trial by jury, big deal - a judge is not able to give banning orders without evidence. People have been condemning the topic in general rather than any individuals.
  14. It is indeed. Not convinced its worth anywhere near £30million. The massive sports complex at work only cost £12million and that involved around £2million to shift some great crested newt type creatures.
  15. I would like to hear about a team who didnt "buy" the title sinceNottingham Forest. Its pure cack, how much did Rovers spend vs how much did Arsenal spend? Hmmm only one winner there.
  16. It wasnt too far away. I have purchased my normal seat in the BBE.
  17. Well the team for tonight is Enckleman Neill Amoruso Nissa Gresko Emerton Tugay Douglas De Pedro Jansen Bothroyd Subs Friedal Stead Pedersen Gally Matteo
  18. I dont remember that but then again have only held a seaston ticket since 1993. The reason why they dont do that is because they have to give a proportion of the gate money for cup games to the opposition and the FA (for the FA Cup). The total income includes free admissions for any reason, including season ticket holders free admissions - worked out at the price of an adult ticket. So it owuld cost the club money.
  19. Not that I care especially about the corporate machine in Manchester (although I am goign to watch them next Tuesday - long story!) They are releasing 7000 new season tickets from filling in the corners.
  20. The same people wh came out with all this when he scored that excellent goal against Liverpool. I have said it before and hope to god that I am wrong I really do. Yes he scored a good goal and there is no doubt he still has an amazing shot. His first touch is still poor. Even for the goal that appears to be worshipped up and down the country, he nearly fell over it. Whether this is something that confidence can improve I hold my hands up I have no idea, I hope so.
  21. Berg? Rubbish? At first I didnt think he was that good!
  22. HE's 23 . But the rest of your post is bob on! And on young mr jansen, yes he scored a well taken goal, lets not get our hopes up too soon. I seem to remember a flash of brilliance this time last season against Liverpool (so not his first goal since May 2002 Radio Lancs) . Hopefully, but lets just not get overexcitied.
  23. What a pointless waste of ten minutes reading this thread was. Why do you care what we think or what our opinions are? If somebody says something you dont like you jump down on them. Go to court, get banned. cheerio.
  24. To do this we would have to put prices up for the home fans. It is against Premier League rules to charge away fans more than home fans for equivalent seating.
