  1. Has anybody noticed the media seem to have packed their bags & buggered off from the affected areas?? These f#####g @rseholes have gotten bored of the situation & moved on to their next big story.
  2. Other local clubs like Bumley, Preston, Blackpool, Bury etc.... have already had their kick in the teeth from the TV companies (remember ITV digital, or whatever it was called??) They all got a good & proper shafting! I am starting to fear for clubs like Rovers because they might be about to have their own kick in the cobblers. Why?....i`ll tell you.... When the contract for SKY sports is up for renewal, they (SKY) hold all the aces. They can & probably will offer less money for the pot. No other company will make a bigger bid, because the product is now being seen as 'had its day' (falling gates/interest) ...So we are left with a significantly lower income for all the clubs. The clubs ask the players to take paycuts, the players say "no, they`ve signed a contract for x amount" ....the players bleed the clubs dry. Premier League clubs who`ve sailed too close to the sun for many years (financially) will soon fall into the trap Leeds did, amounting massive debts & going broke. The only clubs to survive will be the ones who were seen as "tight-fisted & prudent".....Aston Villa? Charlton? Rovers??? (are we in there??) Ofcourse the big clubs like Man U,Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea will survive......but to play who??? ....Alas, welcome to the European league, where the rich get richer & sod the rest!! It may not happen like that, but i fear something similar will happen sooner rather than later......
  3. Is it not time for F.C Rovers of Blackburn
  4. september 13th 1994... rovers 0 v trelleborgs 1 attendance 13775 (rovers 1st european game) we can`t really have a go at them can we??
  5. I`ll second that!! In the late 80s, Colin Hendry used to catch the bus from the stops outside Blackburn market, in his Rovers tracksuit. He always had loads of schoolgirls talking to him....probably asking him who i was! Ahhh, the days before footballers thought we were all 5hit!
  6. Rovers first two away games = 2 defeats Rovers manager acts to rectify problem & tightens up defence. 3rd away game = draw (1point in the bag) I call that progress?? The premiership is a hard league, points are hard earned. I think an away point at UEFA cup qualifying Bolton is a good days work. Next up is Newcastle & hopefully a good home performance & win. GET BEHIND THE TEAM.
  7. well that`s that sorted!
  8. Tiz true. i work 4 on 4 off & cannot get to some games. As it falls this year, i can get to most home games up to christmas, but after then it`s not too great.
  9. I think the magnitude of the whole event has taken everyone by suprise...even the U.S government. They seems to be getting to grips with the situation now, but for the dead & homeless people, it`s obviously too late. I hope alot of lessons will be learnt from this, by everyone....even the President of the USA. America will have more natural disasters in the future, like the big one which will someday hit San Fransisco/California, the caldera in the national park which could devastate thousands of miles of the U.S if/when it blows & the possible Tsunami heading towards the eastern seaboard if/when half of that canary island slides into the sea. Hurricane Katrina may have done America a favour, by shaking itself out of its slumber & comfort zone. They will have to start looking at the possibilities of these natural disasters happening....as we all will.
  10. Excellent post Alan75 A copy should be sent to the boardroom at Ewood Park. It probably wouldn`t make any difference, but at least they`d know the feelings of the fans.
  11. Bored with this thread? Try this...... Chavopoly
  12. ....& pretty stewards??
  13. Jim Mk2.....This must be the first time i`ve agreed with anything you`ve ever said!!
  14. This is great!! I`ve not enjoyed a thread so much in ages!
  15. Great game (& result) yesterday, almost going to the wire! I was sat in front of the telly shaking like a sh1tting dog! I can`t imagine the Aussies letting the ashes go too easily. They will be 'well up' for the final test. I only hope England don`t bottle it! Definately THE best cricket series i`ve ever watched......& i`ve watched one before! COME ON ENGLAND!!!
  16. .....or two days on the losh!
  17. this thread is great! Who`d believe it! Rovers fans showing a bit of passion!!! I can see both points of view here. I agree that people should enjoy a drink , have a sing-song, trade some banter, create an atnosphere & have a good time. Rovers fans are notoriously quiet. On the flip side, i cannot be arsed with people who just go to games looking to cause trouble whilst donning their new superchav outfits.....to impress their mates. ....On the minus side, someone got hit with a brick ....On the plus side, looks like they hit the right person!
  18. maybe they could spread out & hold a boycott banner between them? or Maybe a good cause for BRISA to champion?
  19. After 2 home games each..... Wigan`s average attendance = 20399 (23575 v chelsea 17223 v Sunderland total...40798) Rovers average attendance = 19664 (16953 v Fulham 22375 v Spurs total...39328) Rovers next home game is vs Newcastle Wigans is vs Boro Oooh! it`s very exciting intit?
  20. .....Alot of empty seats in most grounds today.
  21. Don`t talk cr@p!^^^ Rovers played better in the 2nd half at Villa when jansen came on. Villa knew they were in a game today.
  22. ....looking like Michael Owen might end up at Newcastle on loan. He`s sort of reluctantly agreed a move if Liverpool don`t make a move for him.
  23. After 1 home game each...... Wigan 23575 Rovers 16953 ....Our pie-munching neighbours have an early lead of 6622
  24. Never a truer word said! I know lots of parents with families who`ve been to the Rovers before, but find it just too expensive to go every week. These are working class people who have to budget their lives. On more than one occassion, i`ve taken advantage of the £10 adult £5 child tickets & taken my nieces/nephews to games that they wouldn`t have gone to before. I once took 5 kids with me, ALL for £35. How much would that cost me at normal prices??
  25. I also liked the "wild rover theme tune.....it got me off my seat! Well done Rovers (looks like they`ve been listening to the fans for a change!!)
