  1. Hmmm yeah, i agree ...Not long ago, a derby game vs Notlob would`ve attracted a 25k crowd. Alas, a silly kick-off time, SKY tv & a run of 4 home games in close succession has surely affected a possible 'biggest gate of season so far' *Wigan`s home game vs Notlob only attracted a crowd of 20553*
  2. 5.15pm kick-off (saturday tea time) Live SKY tv match 4 home games in quick succession Bolton not selling many tickets either Rovers 'regulars' averaging out at around 19k ...it all adds up to a poor gate. I`d bet if it was a Saturday 3pm with no 'Live' tv coverage, you could add another 5000+ on the gate.....easy.
  3. Q...When do tickets go on open sale?
  4. Got my tickets for the Man Ure & Notlob games tonight at around 5pm. The was a queue which seemed to be getting bigger as i left Ewood. On the downside, the ticket office woman asked where i wanted to sit? I asked where they had seats left, she said 'all over the ground' I got a seat right on the halfway line in the Riverside.....no problem.
  5. I`m going to the ticket office tomorrow (tues 10th) to 'hopefully' get my tickets for the man ure & notlob games. I hear the ticket office is open until 7pm the day before home games. Is this correct?
  6. An excellent Christmas period for BRFC. 9pts out of 9 (with one game postponed) Just been looking at the table & realised if we had not`ve had such a good xmas, Rovers could`ve been down in 16th place! Q...When is the African nations cup? & will Bolton lose their 5 first team african players before they play us? Could be good news for Rovers?
  7. I saw some lad getting a good hiding from a larger group of lads. No-one seemed to have colours on, except for one lad in a rovers hat. Don`t know what it was about though?
  8. ***UPDATE*** After an excellent 9 points haul over the christmas period, only a disappointing crowd of 19521 turned out to watch the rejuvenated Rovers beat Portsmouth. OK, it was live on SKY tv but i shudder to think what the crowd would`ve been without the 'kid for a quid' offer Anyway, Rovers average crowd dropped slightly.... Rovers average league attendance is 19862 after 9 homes (down 43) Wigan`s average league attendance is 20725 (after 11 homes) (Rovers behind by an average of 863) Total league attendances are:- Rovers ...178761 Wigan...227977 (Rovers behind by 49261, but have 2 games in hand) The next 3 home league games for both clubs are:- Rovers ...Bolton & Man Ure & Arsenal (3 decent crowds?? ) Wigan ...WBA, Everton & Liverpool (2 biggies there)
  9. Well i find it quite offensive!! I`d bet a small proportion of the 5000 travelling Rovers fans (not to mention the Wiganers) are not of christian faith & do not celebrate christmas, & thus they have to endure these vile chants of pure christianity! This must be stamped out!! . . . .
  10. Trust good old Rovers fans to turn a thread about their best away result in years into a moan about fan behaviour! keep it up people!
  11. ***UPDATE*** After a suprisingly low attendance for the game against us (Rovers sold out their allocation ) it looks like this:- Rovers average league attendance is 19905 (after 8 homes) Wigan`s average league attendance is 20725 (after 11 homes) (Rovers behind by an average of 820) Total league attendances are:- Rovers ...159240 Wigan...227977 (Rovers behind by 68737, but have 3 games in hand) The next 3 home league games for both clubs are:- Rovers ...Portsmouth, Bolton & Man Ure (guarranteed 2 decent crowds) Wigan ...WBA, Everton & Liverpool (2 biggies there) After the next 3 homes by both teams, i predict it`ll be alot closer with even the mighty Rovers going into the lead. Q...How many tickets are Bolton getting for the visit to Ewood? Anyone know?
  12. Top result! Made my day! Bring on Pompey!
  13. ....If they stump up some cash!
  14. Good luck Matt Thanks for the memories!
  15. The article on Boro having to "cut their cloth accordingly" is a frighteningly honest look at their situation, one which Rovers may have to take if attendances continue to fall.
  16. ***UPDATE*** After their 10th home game of the season (vs Man City), Wigan have increased their average attendance.... Rovers average attendance is 19905 (after 8 home games) Wigan average attendance is 20734 (after 10 home games) Rovers behind by an average of 829. Total attendances are.... Rovers ... 159240 Wigan...207338 Rovers trail by 48098 (but have 2 games in hand) Rovers next 3 home games are vs Sunderland, Pompey & Bolton. Wigan`s next 3 homes are vs Rovers , WBA & Everton.
  17. Anyone who shows 100% commitment to the cause is OK in my book. Shefki Kuqi has shown this since he joined BRFC, & has won the majority of fans over in the process. Well done Shefki!! You deserve all the credit you are getting!! ....Long may it continue!!
  18. With Man Ure out of the Chumps league before bo-bo`s , i can imagine Mr Glazer & his boys will be putting pressure on old Whiskey-Nose to come up with a pot this year. Rovers may be the underdogs in this semi-final but i think Mr Whiskey-nose will have a serious case of twitchy ring...as they`ll be the one`s with alot more to lose than 'little' Blackburn. Can Man Ure`s primadonnas handle the pressure? ....coz i know Hughes will have a team "well up for it!"
  19. I actually said.... ....which i think is a totally acceptable standpoint, given that Dunn has hardly set the premiership on fire since he left us. Granted, he may get a better offer from elsewhere, but most other teams are in a similar financial position to BRFC (except the BIG clubs & Wigan) so i doubt the cup will overfloweth with better offers (i may be wrong). If i am wrong & Dunn goes where the money is, then good luck to him! I`m not having a go, i was merely stating that gone are the days when Rovers can throw good money at a player with a dodgy fitness record. If he 'wanted' to come home & felt like he had something to prove, then he`s have to accept Blackburns terms....if not, see ya later. (p.s...all this is hypothetical, seeing as Mark Hughes has never commented on the situation )
  20. OK, let`s look at your quote:- should only be judged on their ability...Dunny has ability, but has played way below his capabilities for a couple of years now. Fitness...How many games has Dunn Played since he left Rovers? & how many games has he missed due to injury? I`ll bet he`s missed more than he`s played. Usefulness... How 'useful' can a player be when he hardly ever plays? You`re right! Let`s give him a 5year deal on 30grand a week...just so he`ll come 'home'.......& let the next manager be lumbered with him on the wage bill.
  21. So, what would you rather us do? Throw money at the situation? ...That`s been done before. If Dunny wanted to come back to the Rovers he says he loves so much, after a rather unsuccesful spell at the 'big' club....(& if he`s still got confidence in his own ability) then he`d accept a 'prove yourself contract. If he doesn`t, then tough titty for him. Stay where you are, collect your big wages & end up playing in the championship until they forcibly sell you to someone you don`t want to play for. ...it`d be no skin off my nose.
  22. My reasoning for my putting "one big gate there....guarranteed" is Bolton are doing well & usually bring a fair few from over`t`thill.....where-as a Sunderland 'doing well' would bring thousands from the North East.... BUT as we all know, they are pretty cr@p this year & it`s doubtful alot of their disillusioned fans will make the effort. I hope they do, but i doubt they will.
  23. ***UPDATE*** After Wigan`s 9th home game, Rovers (8 home games) are still trailing behind Wigan with their average attendances..... Rovers average attendance is 19905 Wigan`s average attendance is 20258 ...behind by an average of 353 (down from 750) Total attendances for both clubs are:- Rovers 159240 Wigan 182321 ...23081 behind (Rovers have 1 game in hand) The next 3 home games for each club are :- ROVERS...Sunderland,Portsmouth & Bolton..(one big gate there....guarranteed) WIGAN...Man City, ROVERS & West Brom...(two big gates there....guarranteed) (Both teams have now played Fulham,Spurs,Newcastle & Charlton at home. Rovers have only had the bigger gate vs Charlton)
