  1. I`m quite confident, sitting nicely in the 80something positions just waiting to pounce!
  2. I can see it now.... Steward "...& this is the trophy room" Den (nodding) "hmmm, nice carpet"
  3. Surely they were known as BIG Heath Alliance?? Let`s help send them down, where they belong
  4. ***GAV`S £50 BET UPDATE*** A whopping crowd of 29142 has finally seen Rovers overtake Wigan in the average attendances. Here`s how it looks:- Rovers average home league attendance is now 20783 (up 522) Wigan`s average home league attendance is 20772 (Rovers are an average of 11 in front) Rovers total home league attendances stand at 353314 Wigan`s total home league attendances stand at 353131 (Rovers are 183 in front) Both clubs have just 2 home games left:- Rovers ...Chelsea & Man City Wigan...Villa & Portsmouth ....It might come down to who has the biggest away followings on the day, but at least it`s looking good for Gav`s £50 bet!!
  5. ??? I`m sorry?? i thought you weren`t telling people how to spend their money?? Like i stated earlier, i`d love to see you preach your mantra to a married man, mortgage, kids, bills & tell him he`s acting like a dosser.......& see how long you last. ....Also like i said earlier......pr1ck!
  6. Was working that day gutted! When i got out i legged it to my local pub to catch the last half hour. The place was banging!! A couple of the locals are Man Ure fans & they got sooo much stick it was unbelievable....but fair plays to them, they took it & when the final whistle went they shook hands with the Rovers fans, conceded defeat & slunk out the pub to a chorus of "CHEERIO CHEERIO CHEERIO!!" Needless to say, they`ve given it back more times than they`ve recieved it, but that`s what football`s all about.
  7. Who the hell are you to decide how people spend their hard earned money? It`s got absolutely eff-all to do with you! How people spend their money is their business....not yours. If they don`t feel they can be arsed or don`t feel they get value for money, it is totally up to them.IT`S THEIR MONEY!!!! ....But it`s you who`s coming on this site, being all mightier than thou & slagging them off, when you`ve no idea what goes on in people`s personal lives. It`s not just this topic either. I`ve seen you slag off the people of Glasgow, slag off BRFC`s lost fans & you`ve called members of this board things like 'cretin' in the past. All in all, you come across as a bit of a pr1ck. (BTW...i do realise i`ve contradicted myself by calling you a pr1ck, but i just cannot abide with people like you) I feel much better now
  8. P1llock. The more i hear of you, the more i dislike your pretentious attitude towards other members of this board. I`d absolutely love to see you state your case for 'non attendance' to a married man, wife, 3 kids, mortgage, bills, & an average income....& see how long your face looks like it does now. You sir, are a complete Arsenal* of the highest order! (* note...changed to similar sounding word)
  9. Thought long & hard about it & decided to vote for the Tugay v Fulham, mainly cos i was there. Didn`t get to Wigan, Tuggers gets my vote
  10. ***GAV`s £50 BET*** (A more optimistic view on it) ...So far this season, Rovers & Wigan have both played the following clubs at home, here`s how the gates compared :- v Fulham = wigan had 313 more v Spuds = wigan had 236 more v Toon = wigan had 1649 more v Baggies = Rovers had 3300 more v BIG club = wigan had 328 more v Charlton = Rovers had 617 more v Toffies = Rovers had 333 more v Hammers = Rovers had 1634 more v Notlob = Wigan had 2373 more v Buccaneers = Rovers had 1910 more v Sunderlose = Rovers had 997 more v Arsenholes = wigan had 2500 more v Boro = Rovers had 2040 more & verses each other = wigan had 229 more (funnily enough, if you compare it on a 'game for game' basis, Rovers come out on top with 3203 more) The outstanding teams for both yet to play are:- Liverpoo Chelski Man Citeh Villa Pompey MY GOD!! I THINK GAV MIGHT WIN HIS BET!!!
  11. I just cannot decide between Tugay v Fulham & Reid away at Wigan
  12. ***GAV`s £50 BET UPDATE*** A 1-1 draw at home against BIG CLUB attracted a gate of 18669 to the JJB stadium. Here`s how it affects Gav`s £50 bet :- Rovers average home league attendance is 20261 after 16 homes. Wigan`s average home league attendance is now 20772 after 17 homes (down 132) (Rovers are now an average of 511 behind) Rovers total home league attendances stand at 324172 Wigan`s total home league attendances now stand at 353131 (Rovers are 28959 behind having played 1 game less) Rovers still have to play :- Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City Wigan have to play :- Aston Villa & Portsmouth If Rovers can attract a bumper crowd for the visit of Liverpool on easter Sunday, it could go into the last 2 home games level pegging. Can Gav pull off the unpulloffable??!!
  13. Didn`t their terribly cheesy dance routines got on your nerves?
  14. Bluebirds....Cardiff Swans.....Swansea Canaries....Norwich Robins......Swindon Magpies......Newcastle Owls......Sheffield Wednesday Seagulls......Brighton Eagles.....Palace
  15. Football has alot more to compete with these days, such as:- home entertainments....x-box, playstation, home computers (many kids spend their time saving up for the latest game & the rest of their spare time playing these games with their mates) How many people on BRFCs spend their match days on-line?? Satellite tv....You can see the goals/highlights from almost every domestic football match within a few hours of it happening, be it at home or in the pub. People have to realise that football has to compete with other 'cheaper' forms of entertainment. Gone are the days when you simply 'had to be there' or you missed out on something memorable...these days you can watch it every 50 mins on SKY sports from the bar at your local or sat in your living room. Granted, the 'hardcore' of fans will always argue that it`s not like being there, & all credit to them, but sometimes people would rather save themselves a chunk of money & still get to catch up on all the good bits when it`s on tv. I hear stories from the older folk about their being lots of cinemas in Blackburn & they were "always full" especially on a saturday morning. I also hear stories about there being 50000+ on Ewood park during the 50s.......maybe this was because there was little else to do for cheap family entertainment in those days. Watching Blackburn Rovers these days is not 'cheap family entertainment'....it costs alot. Nowadays, it`s a totally different beast, there`s a HUGE entertainment industry designed to make you want to part with your cash. There`s lots of choice & unfortunately the one`s seen as 'not value for money' will inevitably fall by the wayside.
  16. Howzabout vastly increasing my wage & lowering my outgoings (bills etc...) ....failing that, cheaper tickets.
  17. Here`s hoping the Pompey bubble will burst! 0-1 Rovers
  18. ***GAV`S £50 BET UPDATE*** A poor crowd of only 20410 bothered to turn up & watch this dire Lancashire derby. Seems like most people decided to watch it at home or in the pub (which is what i should`ve done) I spent £30 (ticket, pie & pint) & came away feeling rather short changed. Anyway, here`s how Gav`s £50 bet looks:- Rovers average home league gate is now 20261 after 16 games (up 10) Wigan`s average home league gate is 20904 after 16 games (Rovers are an average of 643 behind with 3 home games left each) Rovers total home league attendances stand at 324172 Wigan`s total home league attendances stand at 334462 (Rovers are 10290 behind) with only 3 home games left each, for Gav to win his bet Rovers have to get 3430 or more people each game than Wigan. Rovers have to play:- Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City Wigan have :-BIG club, Villa & Pompey Can it be done??
  19. Four home games left this season, Wigan, Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City...how many are going to be televised? I believe the public in general are starting to suffer from over exposure to football. I cannot even be @rsed watching MOTD these days.
  20. Had a good view of the trouble at the Ewood leg. was in Jack Walker upper with bro-in-law (his 1st game) & my nephew. One Wednesday fan got a proper 'crack' from one of those long trunchions the police have....his mates dragged him away, blood pouring from his head. My nephew thought it was the coolest thing ever & said he wanted to be a riot policeman Bless his cotton socks.
  21. I too have often bought the cheaper tickets, & all i do is move to a better seat just after kick-off......as there are plenty of them
