  1. Forgive me for being pedantic, but wasn't it 7-0 ?. I remember that game, and it was great. Especially when Jason Lee got battered, and was subbed by................Andrea Silenzi .
  2. I reckon he should go on loan, but with a clause that we can call him back. There would be a more fair assessment of his standing in competitive games, than the moribund reserves.
  3. I liked Le Saux until he spat his dummy out and deceided not to put any effort in when he wanted to leave. And that was after we helped through that injury. After that, I thought he was a bit of a childish prat. Similar reasons for why I don't like Tim Sherwood. He was captain, and then decided to publicly denounce the manager as a fool, which is not a good thing for the club captain to do. OK, it was Roy Hodgson, but he should have been more diplomatic at least.
  4. As opposed to the constant sniping from Scotland any time England are mentioned ?. Come on now, if England did not exist, there would be no, or little, Scottish identity. How could a nationalist Scot define themself when there wouldn't be an English person to hate ?. Scotland has fine tradition in science and the arts, but other than Burns Night, it rarely gets celebrated by Scotland, whilst whinging and shouting at English people is more or less constant.
  5. Oh right, I thought they were deemed exempt from it because they were 'developing' countries. So that leaves the USA as the bad guy then.
  6. Although the last version I played was on the PS1, I prefer ISS Pro to FIFA. It's less gimmicky and isn't an arcade game. Things may have changed since them though.
  7. Well that must surely prove that ducks are harder than geese and swans...........
  8. None of our players then. Anyway, no name should come out until a conviction. Mud sticks, as a certain former daytime host found out.
  9. My girlfriend's dad is a licensed gun owner, and restores antique rifles. He has many restrictions placed on him. He has to keep then in a locked cabinet at all times when they are not in use on a shooting range, and he'd get them taken off him if he visits a doctor for mild depression. Whilst some of these new post-Dunblane rules are reletively sensible, it is worth mentioning that the Hamilton chap who killed all the kids was granted a licence by the police Chief Inspector, who considered him of sound mind, despite reports to the contrary. iIn other words it was the police who messed up, not necessarily the system. It's the illegal guns that cause all the damage and mayhem, not the licensed gun owners who apart from one tragic case tend to be pretty decent people. The police seem to put the restrictions on the law-abiding gun owners to appear tough on gun crime, but are incapable or unwilling to take on the more difficult case of the rise in crimes involving illegal guns. Anyway, kill the grey sods and bring back the red tuffty lugs.
  10. I second that Flopsy. What has he achieved despite spending a fair amount at Boro ?. He is an average manager who has been part of a pretty dull England coaching team for a while. The current mediocrity of the English team is as much down to him as Sven. A team with allegedly world class or exciting players like Lampard, Bent, Gerrard, Terry and Rooney should be performig a lot better.
  11. I wasn't thinking you were, if that's of any comfort. And I'm glad we both have a decent brand. As a former user of a Time computer, I know it is important to buy off a company that can build reliable computers. I'm glad those shoddy monkeys have gone bust.
  12. It came out wrong when I typed it. I was concerned that you got a far better deal than me, and got an arse-kicking laptop for a similar price to my pretty good one. It was comforting to know that I couldn't afford yours and I hadn't spectacularly missed out.
  13. I largely have the same outlook Matty. For example, as soon as N. Ireland scored, I was rooting for them, as England were moribond, bereft of ideas and tactical skill. There was no energy in the team, and the players seemed to just drift to defeat, and not fight and strive to win. The internationals should indeed be the height of a players career, but thanks to a bunch of greedy clubs, an inept governing body, and coach as exciting as a flat packed table, England is secondary to the whims of the big clubs. The 100k p/w posers who play for England should be ditched, and shown the Ashes series or the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
  14. I probably will in 3 or 4 years time, but I'm the sort of user who can plug along with what I have for a long time (thankfully). As long as I can use the word processer, speadsheet and presentation programme with no problems, it's all good. Oh, and I hope memory sticks that use a USB port last longer than minidisks.
  15. I agree. Whilst the USA pollutes, India and China are just as bad. The Kyoto treaty is redundant as these two are not involved. People are probably annoyed about the USA as it is an established world power, and chooses to ignore attempts to change its ways, whereas China and India are seen as growing powers that need resources to maintain their progress.
  16. I glad to hear you spent more than me-I didn't miss out on a deal I could afford . I got my laptop and printer/sausage maker/spin bowler thing for less than half that price. Mine is quicker than my PC, so that's good enough for me. I'll probably upgrade in 4 or 5 years.
  17. If it is related to the booze he should give the new liver to someone else. Whilst it is not nice to see anyone ill, it angers me that it doesn't seem if he has tried too hard to stop drinking. Brian Clough managed it after his transplant.
  18. I bet it is still about 30p per litre over there though. Hopefully the American public will finally cut back on their consumption, just in time for China to consume the resources.
  19. Can I ask how much yours was Dan ? (here's where you say your better machine was £50-100 cheaper than mine ). I was going for cost, and it was cheaper than the Toshiba I mentioned earlier.
  20. Savage is a liability. His addiction to getting carded for mental 'tackles' has given him a reputation, and made it harder for him to avoid more cards. If he can sort that out, then he'd be a good signing.
  21. I think we can win. They have decent midfielders, but as they only put Crouch up front, and have no players like Rooney or Ronaldinho to offer close support, they will provide few opportunities.
  22. I actually agree with you when your point is put like that. Maybe they were 'trendy Leftie' types in their youth, and have lost the need to be cool and radical with age. I can't say, as I don't know any of them personally. Anyway, I have a slight disagreement about you over Blair. I reckon he does have beliefs. He has a belief in the private sector, and is limited by his party as to how far down the road he can go. He also has a belief that he should strive to be a PM as influencial and recognised as Churchill, Atlee, Disraeli or his favourite, Thatcher. He desperately believes in his aim for a place in history. He has little in the way of principles though, as the whole Iraq War dossier farce, and the constant freeloading he and his odious wife indulge in, show.
  23. If you were wondering, I got a HP ZV6115EA instead, as HP is a brand with a reasonable reputation. And it was a lot cheaper. I also got a HP printer/scanner/photo thing in one for £40, as it was £20 less if I bought a laptop at the same shop (Comet). Although I have only had it for a week or two, I have had no complaints.
  24. Some of my favourite names: 1. Nacho Novo 2. Jermaine McSporran 3. Stefan Kuentz
