  1. Spot on FC Lyn Oslo is a disease, and now Berg is spreading it. After his appearance as "expert commentator" for Norwegian TV2, his years in the blue/white is almost forgotten anyway. Terrible..
  2. I think you'll might find that yellow cards and suspensions will ruin your chances in the Fantasy League.. Makelele for instance, will not earn a lot of points for his hard work - it's assists, goals and creativity that makes a good FL player if you look at the rules.. but a very unpleasant team to play against, I'll give you that much!
  3. Jansen has had a strain, but is likely to feature again soon.. where did I read this, I believe it was the LET - or perhaps the official site? Thommo and Gresko, I don't know, except from the Gresko quote Jordan made above..
  4. Berg has sadly made a fantastic start to his managing career for Lyn, and is one of many ex-professionals who impress as managers in Norway these days. Kjetil Rekdal (Vålerenga) and Ståle Solbakken (Ham Kam) two others.. Hodgson has done good things with Viking, getting them up to 4th position and playing quite well. Østenstad has scored a few goals and is a good "Tippeliga" player. Not spectacular, but strong and a good finisher.
  5. Lars Bohinen is a member of the coaching team at Vålerenga.
  6. "We will bring in players if possible, if we don't succeed, I'm happy with the squad." - Mark Hughes on RW.
  7. Enough with the sexual undertones already.. Did look like a decent player on the RW clip, but Morecambe isn't exactly Real Madrid.. fine goal though, and he really didn't look that slow. But then again, Morecambe... anyone at the game with views?
  8. I hate big, strong players without technique.. but if Shefki can make room for Bellamy and perhaps score a few from set pieces - great! I'll give him a few matches before I slate/praise him..
  9. See you in the UEFA cup in a few years..
  10. Congratulations. Cuidado will have a tough challenge for the Groobies next year. Fantastic.. Btw, have you made a post without including the yet? I'm starting to think you really are doing what LeftWinger suggests, it would certainly explain quite a lot.
  11. Where can I do that??
  12. Damn, I really wanted Milan and Maldini to win this..
  13. United 2004/05 is a team of underachievers. Now it's time for Ferguson to show his management skills, with limited resources (20m according to JC4LAB here..) he has to buy players who can lift their teammates. (e.g Paul Scholes, who was their Frank Lampard only short time ago!) He's been awful this season, and van Nistelrooy hasn't done particularly well either. These two has to up their game, or risk being sold IMO. United just can't afford to keep them if they don't start making a difference, and to be completely honest - I don't really see that players like Fletcher and Liam Miller are good enough.
  14. If Tugay wants to stay for another year, I'd like us to keep him.. he showed today what he can give us, perhaps not week in, week out, but as a squad player to come on in games like today's.. he's probably our most skilled player, fantastic passing ability and great technique aswell.
  15. Richardson was at times very lively.. perhaps a player we could talk to in the summer, a backup for MGP would be useful to push him further IMO..
  16. Steady's season in a nutshell.. so unlucky!
  17. How's that then ? Tugay: Best passer yes, but he's still got that invisible friend coming on a bit too often.. Flitcroft: He'll do the job, but Savage runs more, tackles more and is more creative. Yes, he can come a bit over the top sometimes, but he's still a far better player than Flitty. At least alongside Mokoena, who's taken the Flitty-role now.. Plus, the fact that Pedersen has scored a lot of important goals for us, laid on a platter my arse. The get-into-scoring-positions-quality is more important than most people acknowledge it seems.. Perhaps a bit harsh to tell you to stick to your name, but I do see Brownie's point..
  18. You have got to be kidding me? But I agree with your post, he should of course be starting. Friedel- Neill, Nelsen, Todd, Matteo- Emerton, Reid, Mokoena, Tugay, Gamst Pedersen- Stead-
  19. Well, you could give Nuclearsox a fulltime job as preview'er.. He hasn't been the only provider btw, the previews this season has been nothing short of excellent. As for the lineup: Friedel- Neill, Todd, Nelsen, Matteo- Emerton, Reid, Mokoena, Tugay, Gamst Pedersen- Stead- With Mokoena playing in a deep role, I don't really think we need that extra machine that Flitty can provide in midfield. A classy Turk is more like it, creativity is always something we need. Savage rested because of his injury, the same goes for Dickov. (Stead has according to you lot played well against Palace aswell, I would love it if he could keep it up, and perhaps score a goal!) Oh, and the result: 2-1 Rovers!
  20. Interesting article here, about Flitty's fallout with Souness. <<< Clickety-Click! >>>
  21. Well, as someone put it a few weeks ago: I'll take on any team that's got Titus Bramble in it.
  22. or: Yes, that is the touchline...
  23. To ban all Italian teams would plain wrong. Yes, there is a problem with hooliganism in Italy, but to ban all Italian teams because of two incidents would be like banning Rio Ferdinand because of something Wayne Rooney did.. not the best example, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Might also add that the coin that hit Frisk, actually did not come from the Roma supporters. But the Ultras in Italy is clearly a problem, and even though both Roma and now Inter were victims of horrible refereeing, there is no excuse for such outbursts. For those of you mentioning fascism, there is also a lot of lefties amongst the supporters, e.g Livorno- who actually play the Sovjet national anthem before each game.. (that was partly why the nazi banners were used by the Lazio ultras, who are fascists and not nazis, according to a friend of mine who follow the Serie A and everything around closely.) The Roma ultras is also placed quite far to the left, mainly, btw.. but of course, there is individuals with different opinions everywhere..) There's a lot of prejudice on this thread, but remember that the PL had the same problem some years back. (not exactly throwing things like the Inter fans did, but a lot of fighting and also quite a lot of racism!) A part of the problem is also the police. They are wellknown for being very easily provoked, and their use of violence against the fans are often very unecessary. What do they expect to happen, when they throw gas into a crowd of supporters? CHAOS!
