  1. There's a lot of people calling themselves e.g "fat". They know they are fat, and copes with that by using humour. That doesn't mean they like being called fat.. I know, the example isn't the best, since we're talking about footballers.. but I'm sure you get my point. Or ?
  2. I remember him as a right midfielder for Liverpool, but I might be wrong.. Looked impressing against Birmingham, a midfield of Emerton, Ferguson, Thompson and Reid (Gamst when Reid gets his suspension??) is very interesting....
  3. Agreed with you for a while, 6, but I do think you're exaggerating a bit. Against Birmingham, I saw no reason for letting Gamst on. The midfield was excellent, and especially Reid looked impressing the last 45 minutes methinks. But I do agree, when we're 4-0 down and nothing is working, it could be a good idea to put Gamst on- just to give him some playing minutes..
  4. Agree, Lathund. Also, the wage levels in Primera Liga is nowhere near the Premiership, if you look past the stars in Real, Barca, Valencia... If De Pedro wants to stay, and has a reasonable wage, I don't see why we should get rid of him. He has got some creative qualities that could come in handy, especially if we get some injuries..
  5. Yeah, and Dwight Yorke sees himself as a world beater- what's your point? Okay, it's wasn't a good example..
  6. Gamst hasn't said "I will start instead of Reid because I'm better in front of the goal", he said that Blackburn could use his goalscoring abilities, or at least his "getting into goalscoring positions"-quality. The Reid thing is just media bs, think it was VG who used Reid because he is the most likely to be replaced by Gamst. Norwegian media is terrible, they really aren't helping..
  7. Yup, that's Erik "Panzer" Hagen from my Norwegian team Vålerenga. Been attracting interest from England according to his agents, has been brilliant this season. Also known for pushing Dickov to the limit and then a bit further against the Scots.
  8. Poor timing, mate, since Dahlin is about to give us a cash boost next year!
  9. Definitely, John, Gamst's attacking runs off the ball is great. I'm still sure he's got all the quality needed, it's just the physical bit at he moment, IMIHO.
  10. Without knowing who this guy is at all, my first thought is that he's the kind of old-fashioned guy who hates un-british style of play, and certainly a winger without the classic pace and dribling skills. Am I close? Won't give up De Pedro before I've seen him play a match or two without making anything happen.. That's just bull, I've seen De Pedro play in the Primera and also for Spain, and he was definitely a fantastic winger two-three years ago. (not shooting the messenger:))
  11. Emerton's been brilliant, in 2nd half anyway, didn't see the 1st half.. MGP does look lightweight as you say, let him do some intensive weight training and he'll be ready to go in a month or two.
  12. It's actually quite hard to get in the five-man-bench at Blackburn, coz we have got too many mediocre players.. I mean, Enckelman takes one of the spots, and some defender (Matteo?) takes another... that leaves us with three free seats, and one of them will probably go to a central midfielder like Flitty or Tugay / Thommo. Then there's the strikers, without Bothroyd we have got either Stead or Jansen, plus Djorkaeff or Gally. I guess Gamst's best shot is to nick the Djorkaeff/Gally seat, and secure it while Bothroyd's suspended!
  13. Will be over for this one, can't wait to see us take three points again.. Around 20 Norwegians coming over btw, so watch out for Viking helmets and cross country skiing. My prediction: Rovers 2 Brum 1 Jansen 23' Thompson 52' Tiny Taylor 78' (battles past Andy Todd and Lucas Neill to head in a corner kick ) EDIT: Boo Dwight Yorke and clap David Dunn, yes?
  14. Interesting to see how Thomas Holm will cope with Bresciano...
  15. Sad to see Parkes leaving, he is Blackburn Rovers through and through and has done a wonderful job filling in for manager after manager... Thanks!
  16. Hard to tell whether Hareide will start with Gamst or not, his lack of match practise is not helping.. he was one of our best men in his last match though, I think he'll be starting as the left midfielder. Btw, Rushfeldt (Austria Wien) and Solli (Rosenborg) has been withdrawn from the squad due to injury. They will be replaced with the Vålerenga duo Ardian Gashi and Thomas Holm.
  17. Bit harsh to call Berg a has-been, Linny...? Isn't Watt playing for C. Brugge either? Isn't he quite talented?
  18. Don't think Gallacher would do much on left wing, 1864! Gally on the other hand..
  19. Even more impressed by Olivier Occean btw, he's Canadian methinks? Strong, quick striker with good finishing..
  20. Well, that's a bit harsh LDRover.. Gamst can make it at this level, but he needs more time. Agree with the rest of the post though..
  21. Russell was doing well for Sogndal, but has not impressed me at all since joining Rosenborg. Terrible tactical choices in the CL especially, and even though he's both quick and strong he's not much of a defender IMO..
  22. You are really helping Cuidado, the only thing you'll accomplish with your ranting is that you turn us against Gamst and obviously yourself. Gamst was injured, read the small story on www.vg.no. Now shut up..
  23. Sicknote Anderton goal against Liverpool.. That proves it, anyone can score goals.. EDIT: Leon McKenzie coming off..
  24. Even though we don't get to see Rovers live every week or every two weeks, we do get to see quite a lot of matches on tv - and obviously highlights on RoversWorld.
