  1. bennett owed us one for the penalty he gave for diouf's dive last season, so he's probably repayed us now. i thought both lampard and SWP (what a diver that little one is; convinced now that he screwed elliot over as well) went down way too easily, but mokoena's was almost a rugby tackle. how that wasnt given i wouldnt know, but hell i'm not complaining! but in sum, PROUD PROUD PROUD! tears in the eyes stuff even here in singapore. hopefully we'll not capitulate in europe as we tend to... but with sparky at the helm, i'm confident we wouldnt. now lets get some small club in the first round, and we can all look forward to 5 games in the group stages. anyone knows if we're gonna be seeded (ie: easier draw)?
  2. nah. he can afford a yellow per game. the cumulative yellow card system expired in the match against pompy, if i remember correctly. that said, the yellows for bellers and savage were appallingly harsh.
  3. pennant, but on today's showing, reidy did very well on the right as well. still, we'd need 2 players per position and pennant would be a very viable option. he, however had already stated that he's staying in brum despite relegation, but we've all heard that before from a certain brum player havent we? and dunny back on a pay as you play deal and a miniscule transfer fee too.
  4. what odds alan shearer to hone his craft at ewood first?
  5. absolutely vital that we get something out of the match against brum now. newcastle well in it. i'm depressed.
  6. on the showings of the last few matches, i'd go with bellers and bentley up top, with mpg, savage, reid and emo in midfield. bring tugs on when needed in the 2nd half.
  7. just FYI, we're on for the next 2 weeks as well. portsmouth and liverpool games both on espn. that'd be 4 consecutive games that we're on tv here. rarity isnt it? times are good.
  8. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=362366&cc=4716 this really puts things in perspective...
  9. Nobody likes us but we don't care! What character by the players, by sparky. To go 3-4-2 after going a man down, when we could have sat back to try seeing out a 2-2 draw, speaks volumes about the team and our manager. To pull it off and come away with the points, is just the stuff of dreams. And beller's first goal was top top class, how many times have we seen henry do that! Fantastic performance, what bottle. Keep the faith lads, times are good. ps: only downer was savage's sending off, but i'm in euphoria now so i shan't comment on that.
  10. he can start scoring after next week... dont want them to be in any kind of form against us
  11. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/tm_objectid=...-name_page.html very complimentary about us. thought you guys might like a read.
  12. i'm not absolving howard webb of any blame.. but wasn't he the very same ref who gave pederson's handball goal st james earlier this season? so i guess the axiom that luck evens itself out over the season has struck... or the conspiracy theorists might say that webb deliberately allowed keane's goal to make up for his error? then again, two wrongs don't make a right.
  13. Football can be such a cruel game. We certainly didnt deserve to lose that game, but we did. Nonetheless, I am so so proud to be a Rover. Yes, they fell asleep for the winner, but I don't think we can justly fault them for this performance. We've come on leaps and bounds in the last season, and to the board, give sparky whatever he asks for; this could be something really really special. And may i add, Bellers was simply fantastic today (i hope none of the so-called big, rich clubs are watching.) PROUD to be a rover.
  14. hey mate, does your nick indicate your blind devotion to thommo? sure alot of us like that man... but by and large, it was pretty obvious in his displays last season and this that he's lost it... the move to wigan was good for both of us. perhaps he might rediscover his form in a new environment. as for bert, we know what he's capable of... we just have to find a way of getting him to produce it consistently.
  15. Paul gets them over in great condition and efficiently mate. I'm sure he'll be able to help you if you give him a message. I got last season's and this season's shirts all from him through this website. Cheers.
  16. i was grinning from ear to ear when i saw that. it certainly looked painful as i was watching the match but it couldn't have happened to a more appropriate person. except perhaps, gary neville. sad, evil person i am.
  17. Dont think it'd happen. My guess would be SGE with shearer as assistant for next season, with roeder/shearer handling the rest of this season.
  18. that might explain his weekly predictions of us losing... you know, reverse psychology! i know i do that; go into every game predicting a loss in the silent hopes that we win. pessimistic lot we are!
  19. "I've never asked Sir Alex to defend my team. He's never volunteered to do it in the past. If anybody needs to defend Blackburn, I will do it." This line for me sums up everything about Sparky. He's truly one of us now, and his passion for the cause is there to see. While i do not doubt that he will move on in future, he is clearly fully immersed into the club, and takes pride in his band of players. In the last week or two, he has also clearly stood his ground, chest puffed out, for us, standing up to criticism from a club who seemingly he cherishes most. One certainly can't accuse him being afraid of burning his bridges, given that the scum job surely is one that appeals to him. This is why we are all so proud of the man, and he deserves every bit of the adulation we pay him.
  20. you guys beat me to it! damn. i was hoping sour will bring them down. would have been sweet revenge for taking shearer, given, batty off us and giving us peacock and gillespie instead.
  21. The Kingdom Stands Firm. On a night when the crowd called for a hero, the young padawan Bentley stepped right up to the plate and proved his mantle... someone make him a Jedi Knight now!
  22. Hahahahahahaaha. Now that you mention it cletus... Colin: chewbacca... remember what ryan giggs look like when he took his shirt off during the celebration of his wonder goal against arsenal years ago?
  23. nelsen's on the bench? hope he's only being rested and not injured... suppose its still kuqi and bentley up top?
  24. Time: 1955H; 01 Feb 2006 (GMT) Event: Episode III; Revenge of the Rovers Venue: Ewood Park, Blackburn WAR! Ewood Park is under vicious attack by the ruthless Scum Lord, Ailing Ferguson. There are heroes on both sides, yet justice is nowhere. In a stunning move, the Scum Lord engaged the services of one crooked man, Devious Poll, and together inflicted a crunching low blow seven days earlier. The inequalities are obvious; three pieces of the evil scum’s attacking machinery, namely Lucky Saha, Horseface and Shrek, together with their pet Portuguese show-pony, cost more than Ewood Park’s team of gallant fighters put together. In the heat of Episode II’s battle, a braided-haired ballet dancer made a sneaky attack on Ewood’s blonde midfield protector. Earlier, a snarling Yorkshire mad-dog too had, with the permission of Devious, attacked this oft-misunderstood warrior. Other agents of this evil empire include an anonymous reggae-haired character, a barging Scot who got away with murder in Episode II, a shaven-headed Frenchman with a penchant for mistakes as well as a Brown cow. Together, they are herded by a psychopath protégé of the Scum Lord, who excels at inciting crowds and rants non-stop. Now, a dark cloud engulfs Ewood Park as this evil empire descent upon the sacred turf. A site of previous battles, the Kingdom of Ewood is now ruled by a former protégé of the Scum Lord, Master Sparky whose passion and bravery is unquestioned by the people of his Kingdom. This was perhaps best epitomised by the Master putting the Psychopath in his place at his former hunting ground, telling him: “Too often you speak, F*** off you will”. And now, with Jedi Knight Craig Bellamy still missing, a team of fighters fiercely loyal to the Master, comprising of a Kiwi braveheart, Norwegian Viking, Irish and Australian warriors, a Finnish renegade, the young English Padawan Bentley and the Welsh protector, must embark on a desperate mission to restore justice...
  25. home 3, away 1 for me... too bad i can't vote, but it seems like no one's going along with my choices yet!
