For those eulogising over Gallagher leaving - he is the ONLY senior striker on our books. Be careful what you wish for with our zero budget - and this is coming from someone who doesn’t really rate him and acknowledges he’ll barely play half the season.

It’s a fair point. It’s all good and well refusing to sell Gallagher during his last year with the club but realistically how many games will he be fit for? A third? Who plays up top then? Vale? The 16 year old lad? It’s gonna be a car crash.

Zero chance we get that sort of deal for him. As above will be under £10m but perhaps with a few extras.

Last year the Venky's mandate was "no signings unless there's resale value and only 1-year deals for those in the twilight of their career". This year it's quite clear it's "no fees and anyone on a cheap wage to fill the numbers".

Even this Ohashi chap is a free now. So much for some believing that Venky’s were going to let us spend even just a fraction of all the gold they’ve received over the past 18 months.

I’m a little stunned Venky’s are dishing out 3 year contracts to anyone given their long-term funding issues. I guess he’ll be on absolute peanuts; it can be the only reason.
