Need to weather this storm, let them keep coming forward and then pick them off with another counter for a second. Becomes a very different game at that point. If we concede then it'll become a difficult afternoon.

Our confidence is sky high, you can just see it across the team. What a time to be building this kind of momentum.

Even worse when you consider VAR was available. Ref misses something which was blatantly a red, a clear and obvious error... what reason was there not to use VAR to confirm it was a sending off? Particularly when they showed replays of the incident on TV. -
If Mowbray was still here we'd already have lost practically every game in February and be resigned to our fate.

Really pleased that JRC's injury appears to have not been serious.

Arma will just be extremely low on confidence and rusty from limited first team appearances. I'm sure as a player he hasn't fallen apart completely. I wouldn't have him back here for the reasons @tomphilstated, but I think at the right club he could be effective. With that said we should also consider how JDT has managed to get players like Dack working to the preferred style - maybe he could do the same for Armstrong. I highly doubt he'll be back here in the near future regardless, but I wouldn't rule out Tomasson being able to mould Arma into a genuine team player whilst still retaining his goal threat.

I'd be happy with a draw, but a win would be dangerous as at that point I think I'd genuinely start to believe we could be able to do the unthinkable. That would be some feat for JDT to achieve, considering how crushed I was after we threw it away in such disgusting fashion last season. Still, realistically our good run will falter at some point and it's realistic to pinpoint this match as that moment. As long as we give it a Bowyeresque "right good go" and don't lose something like 4-0 I'll accept whatever the end result is.

Yeah. seems that the Ipswich job really set him back. He bought a lot of League 1 players and Ipswich duly found themselves in League 1. Until McKenna took over the Ipswich job became a bit of a poisoned chalice. Hurst is now managing in League 2, Paul Cook is now managing in the National League and Lambert is still unemployed.

JDT's reaction afterwards said it all in my view. He knew we'd fucked it up beyond saving.

Dolan is radiating confidence at the moment. He constantly wants the ball and is always trying to make things happen. He was a joy to watch tonight. He's still a young player so he'll inevitably go through periods of inconsistency, but there's definitely something special there. -
Wish we were playing Burnley on Saturday tbh. We're on such a wave of momentum at the moment that I genuinely believe we could give them a game and get something out of it.

The best thing about tonight was that we didn't shithouse our way to a win. It wasn't a smash and grab, it wasn't a sucker punch. We played Leicester off the park for huge portions of the game tonight, and that's something you don't often see when there's a divisional gap between clubs. -

To be fair I do think Gallagher's work ethic is noted... it's just that he doesn't seem to use his build to his advantage, and rarely seems to have a real striker's instinct. His barren run in front of goal before the weekend was scary. The weekend's goals seem to have boosted his confidence significantly, though, so fingers crossed he was just taken off as a precaution tonight and can continue to effectively lead the line for us. We're going to need him as there's no guarantee we'll see the best of BBD with his future still up in the air. -

I know we should have scored at least one or two more, but it was still so pleasing, after that sustained period of intense pressure, to see Szmodics net the second. There have been so many times when Rovers have applied pressure and been unable to get the goal. Being able to hold onto the victory despite being bombarded at the end was also a great feeling, similar to how I felt at Birmingham at Ewood a few months ago when we similarly managed to cling on to the 2-1 win. It's fantastic to see that resolve in the side, after so many years of the inevitable equaliser occurring at the death. Really does feel like we're finally seeing a genuine, major change in mentality that is a decade overdue. -

After our 4-0 defeat to Rotherham I was at a really low ebb. It seemed inevitable that we would slide down the table, especially after enduring season after season over the past few years of watching us throw the first half of the season in the bin. Our upturn in form has been incredible, and you can only say hats off to JDT and the players for the way they've reacted since then. I've been as critical as anyone, but now I'm really starting to believe that something special could be on the cards. -

Delighted to see Trav's recent upturn in form. Glad he's reminding everyone just how capable he is. If we somehow managed to get O'Brien in alongside him then what a midfield duo that would be. -

Reminds me of Butterworth in that it just doesn't look like the mentality is there, regardless of his potential. -

Can't believe I'm saying this, either, but surely the GK spot is Pears' to lose now? He's been immense since he came in. -

I still can't get over Gallagher's play for the second goal. Winning the ball back with a perfectly executed sliding tackle, surging forward with sublime control and then an intelligent pass into the box. I'm not sure I've ever seen him look so capable as a footballer. -

First 66 minutes were the best we've seen under JDT, and for my money the best we've seen from Rovers in many a year. Dominant, rampant, sleek, clever, committed... everything you'd want your team to be. Each and every player giving everything they had. We missed chances but unfortunately when you don't have PL level attackers this tends to happen. A criminal miss from Hedges in particular was a moment where you felt we may come to regret our failure to put the game away. After Leicester scored it became a different game. Their tails went up, the crowd got behind them, our players were suddenly feeling the effort they'd put in take a toll on their bodies and energy levels. Injuries to JRC and Gallagher made things even more difficult. We had no choice but to slow down the tempo, regain our shape, batten down the hatches and fight for our lives. We had to weather a real storm, but somehow we got there. Proud of the entire team tonight. Proud to be a Rovers fan. Not going to say anything negative, just going to enjoy the victory and wonder if, based on those first 66 minutes, we really can believe that promotion is a realistic and attainable possibility. Only downside really was JRC's injury. Really, really hope it's not serious, as it would be a huge loss for us to lose him for a long period now. -

That's some statement bringing on Phillips at this stage. JDT must have a lot of faith in the lad. Let's hope it pays off. -

We've done the right thing in dialling down the tempo and getting our shape back. Our rampant attacking had left us wide open at the back, and a Premiership team was always going to exploit that eventually, especially as we've failed to take so many chances. Just got to see if we can hold out now. Looking difficult but we can do it. Really need to stop giving away possession though. The lads are looking tired now and mistakes are creeping in. -
