  1. Completely hypothetical but would anyone do a straight swap with Southampton with dack going one way and Reed and Gallagher coming to ewood ? (There's no real transfer stories to discuss so why not )
  2. I'd like Sunderland to win. North over south any day. Plus Sunderland is a new ground for me . Although it will make the new documentary less fun
  3. I wish they would proof read it before publishing but content is very good
  4. In isolation I think Sam Gallagher would be a terrific signing and think 5 million would prove to be excellent business. However with the lack of budget and needing defense and a keeper sorting as a priority I think he is a luxury we cannot afford as well as the possibility Tony plays him anywhere but as the main striker and ruins him would also be a major concern. If dack is sold for 12 million plus I would bite Southampton hand off. I'd be enquiring about the Reed situation why I was up there
  5. if we add a keeper and a solid defender we have the basis of a very good team. Chapman to add some width, davenport to control the midfield and if by some miracle brereton finds a first touch and some positional awareness another striking option. I think dack will leave but rothwell os capable of filling those shoes, whether he does is a different story. We could have a good season then the vultures start circling and it all starts again. Struggle for a season or two while the younger lads cut there teeth, see some promise , start believing and then the vultures strike again. I know before and to some extent with Jack this had always been the case but it's about the re investment. We can't solely rely on young projects. We still need some quality proven players dotted about. It's better to have them on the field guiding them than conway and co in the dressing room. If Tony does this then it's case of we are what we are and try our best to compete. If we are solely a club nurturing other teams talent then it's going to be a long, frustrating and disappointing decade
  6. I can believe the everton one because he was amazing against them pre season. I doubt man u would entertain him
  7. My daughter is 5 and I won't expect her grand children to see premier league football at ewood Every year more and more money goes into the premier league, every year three more teams get parachute money, every year we are treading water we are becoming weaker and getting pushed down the pyramid. Soon championship football will be something to be proud of . That isn't an over reaction that's where we are heading. Sell dack and lenihan and get your recruitment wrong for one window and your looking at relegation again. It's a good business model but it's also gambling with our future in a totally different way Does everyone believe Tony can buy with chicken feed or give a chance to one of our youth prospects and replace lenihan and dack and still compete Because I don't. His transfer record and handling of youth is terrible . If we didn't have dack and lenihan last season we would already be a league one club. A selling league one club where transfer fees are no where near championship level. Soon Wigan are buying your best players and further we fall I guess it's time to forget about challenging and learn to accept what we are and lower expectations drastically
  8. Glad you said it. If that's what we have to do then fine but as usual this deal goes against buying cheap and I don't believe we will make a profit on him. Why did he spout all that hope building BS throughout the season about adding ready made players with proven quality because the ones we have arnt good enough. We have to be smart and cleverer. We're years behind the teams you mentioned who already have scouting systems set up and are benefiting financially and through the players they sign, RIGHT NOW AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. Add the relegated teams, Leeds and parachute payments. How on Earth does he think we can finish top two, even top six when he knows the starting 11 isn't good enough and we're planning on selling our best players and replacing with unproven youth. Absolutely baffling comments. He should of said nothing until this meeting and then come back and said " honestly" like everyone keeps telling me he is. we don't have a pot to piss in, the debt is crippling and unstainable long term and the only way a club like Blackburn rovers will survive is buy selling high and buying young replacements.....but we will give it a right good go It's worked well for Brentford, they have had quality players and made some good money but correct me if I'm wrong are still hovering around mid table in the championship because all the best players are being bought by the real teams who are actually getting promoted and building top six challenging squads and they are supposedly the team that have got there scouting and recruitment bang on and are being lauded by everyone. They don't get promoted because they keep selling there best players every year and have to start from square one.
  9. Agreed. My posts after initially reading may seem OTT but that's because I can see which way we are heading. It's ok citing Norwich and Brentford as models to aspire to . Tony's signings are so far off that level of quality it's untrue. They can't get in his 11 and he knows he needs upgrades. How is selling dack and replacing with his 1 in 10 success rate of signings going to do anything but make us plummet. We will never grow and develop doing that it's going to be at best a gradual decline. That short interview spelt out the next decade of being a rovers fan and I for one don't look forward to more bowyer style years
  10. If he does sign then I'd hope they both have to fight it out for the jersey and the best man wins
  11. He goes for whatever the buying team pays. His current value is 0. Fact
  12. Whilst the likes of dack, rothwell, Raya and lenihan get cherry picked. The season after davenport, Travis, Chapman get signed why the other young potential gets promoted ( if they aren't like Sam Hart and actually are good enough) whilst Bennett, mulgrew, conway and Evans play until there 40 . Aiming for top two. Don't make me laugh. We will do well to be in this league in two seasons time then it's harder to attract players with less income and all the money from the dack and co transfers swallowed into a blackhole of high Interest and dirty hands. No matter what shit comes out of tonys mouth and from India we are a team that will be trying to stay up and mid table will be an excellent season and the best we can realistically hope for Top two, ready made signings, they players know we need better, reigning the venkys in, Venkys want to take us back were we where when they took over , money left over from previous transfer windows. Please Tony. Please explain all this absolutely tripe you have come out with.
  13. I'm fumin. How is this any different to selling cairney, gestede, Rhodes , Hanley, Duffy and replacing with petschi, koita, delfounso, brown, varney etc. We all know what happens next
  14. I hope everyone is happy treading water. The rug has been pulled. I dare someone tell me I'm over reacting because this is the start of another venky slippery slope. And Tony is a self serving fraud. It isn't a model It isn't a plan It's a tax dodging business/propaganda tool with no ambition
  15. Some time off. It ain't going to happen if that's the model. If it was ever going to happen it was now. We are a feeder club for teams with ambition. Fov
  16. We need to sign jack Bauer because selling dack and replacing him with kids from nantwich is criminal
  17. Well if he doesn't sign I'm sure tony has scouts ( probably some lad he went school with ) at Wembley for the fa vase final. Chertsey towns reserve keeper anyone. Heard he's a good shot stopper so would fill in nicely at left wing when he's had a three year bedding in period at rb in the u23s FOV
  18. Someone explain how selling big I.e your best players and buying small is going to make us better , stronger and get us anywhere near the play offs. So all I heard was dack is available for transfer, don't expect any decent replacement because we are spending nothing and everything I said before today was horseshit. Fucking sick of having my hopes smashed to bits. We are where we are for the foreseeable future if we are lucky. Wouldn't be as bad if you could spot a fucking talent when its staring you in the face tony FOV
  19. Vardy is hard one to judge because he had alot of off Field issues and his tag etc. My argument is Ultimately based on nothing but a gut feeling. Will just have to see how he does over the next two to three seasons but I agree with you, we should be looking at younger lads that have been released from top academies with proper footballing educations to develop
  20. That's because for every Ian wright or Jamie vardy there are 500 Jordan slews and Mitchell candlins. This lad has scored 10 goals in 30 odd appearances for a team in the 7th tier of the pyramid. Ive not checked but I bet wright and vardy had nearly a goal a game ratio over more than a season to attract such interest. I'm not saying we should never give non league players a chance and I'd love to be proved wrong but his age and stats don't read like the next hidden gem. I will be following him and see where he ends up. My guess would be League two at best
