All of those stupid posts about the club trying to “stoke anger” and turn them against Joe. The silly pie in the sky guesstimations of why this is the clubs fault and not him. Whatever anybody says I do not and will never believe that Mowbray wants to sell Rothwell to Bournemouth. He’s obviously got no choice. Hedges has come at a good time. He will get a game if Ayala is being lumped up top. When you read the list of attackers we have out it’s frightening. All of these are due back shortly so Hedges has real motivation to hit the ground running. Even if he contributes to a few wins in his early weeks then fades I wouldn’t care. This is a tough game. We should be targeting Bell. We know he will get forward and not perform defensively so on the counter we can really exploit that. Put Khadra up against him and if he’s on a good day he will tear strips out of him. Hope we have Rothwell back. Suspect we’ll have more of the ball so that driving threat and better passing is essential. QPR play reading whilst Bournemouth play Barnsley so you would expect them to win there. Not that we should focus on that - if we win our matches they can’t catch us and that’s all that matters at the moment.

We are lucky Bournemouth have appointed Parker A better manager would have that squad competing with Fulham week in week out. Parker isn’t all that great and you’ll probably find he gets a worse club each appointment. Let him focus on his mind games like this whilst we continue to pick up points You have to have faith in the squad to keep Joe’s head in the game. That’s their job as well as Mowbrays.

If I was Rothwells team mate I’d be demanding this morning an answer to whether he will be turning it down or not. Surely he owes a degree of loyalty to his team mates and won’t join a rival club midway through the season Unfortunately with Joe not signing the contract then the Club, from a business perspective, may be inclined to accept regardless of the on pitch consequences. Bournemouth are playing a trick here and we need to stay strong and not get dragged into it Lose him for free in the summer if you have to.

The way Buckley glides over the grass is majestic. He just needs to find the weight of that final ball more. Excellent player Been good all round. I’d take Gallagher off for Butterworth, but then again he does add an extra aerial presence. If Johnson is to go off for Davenport I’d keep Gallagher on purely for his height. I would sub Nyambe too. Don’t want another sending off and he has that in him.
