  1. Finished with this bloke frankly. One too many “bad runs” for me. We’ve been awful today.
  2. Played this set on the weekend. Never gets old. People might know him as Plastikman. Don't know if any of you have ever listened to Idris Elba DJ but he is quite good too. Can't find the set I watched him but there's a pretty similar one here at Boardmasters. A great little festival down in Cornwall. And for the rock music fans my Sunday afternoon consisted of a bit of Frank Turner. Here is him at Lowlands, which is a great set but the line up for that day looks unbelievable! Frank Turner, Slaves and The Streets....
  3. it was in that moment that I finally had enough. I have defended Mowbray a hell of a lot in the past but there is always a moment where you think “this manager has had it” - Gallagher at RB was it. Do you think he forgot about needing a RB or do you actually think he intended to play him there? Honestly, I don’t know Whatever it was it was stupid but, even worse, when he looked good he shipped him off. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Change happens naturally and I do think it is time Rovers looked for the next chapter. I’ll always be thankful for Mowbray bringing about a sense of normality. He has signed a few good players here too. We have a nice squad, no trouble makers or chancers and it looks like a real football team. Unfortunately it’s on Saturdays he is at his worst and that is unforgivable.
  4. Join the club mate. The Mrs had enough of me yesterday. “Why do you fucking watch them if all you do is moan?” She doesn’t get it. Never will. Doesn’t understand why it annoys me that our £5m striker played right back. After yesterday Mowbray needs to go. It was pathetic. The commentator claimed it was a masterclass by Neil stopping us playing but that was shite. Mowbray stopped us playing; one of our best ball player on the bench, Davenport in midfield when we needed more creativity, Gally and Armstrong on the wings and Dack up front. What the fuck? It didn’t make sense. What irked me the most was, when he played Gally rb, it was actually his best 5 minutes on the pitch and then he subs him for a centre half. Couldn’t believe it.
  5. I still can’t believe Gallagher played at right back.
  6. What I don’t get is that Gallagher at right back shouldn’t have happened. But, we were looking good for a few minutes and he takes him off? It doesn’t make sense. He’s lost the plot frankly.
  7. Hahahaha, nah four tet isn’t Dub. Electronic music has a whole load of different genres to it, some good...some terrible. “Dubstep” is an example of terrible music imo, whereas Dub is a version of reggae. I wouldn’t even know what category to put four tet in...his albums are quite varied really, ranging from the quite surreal to rock type electronica. He’s good but do understand it’s an acquired taste! Back in my late teens / early 20s I was a big rock n roll fan.I frequented a famous Brum nightclub called Snobs. I think electronic music scene goes hand in hand with what youd call the “mod” scene these days. It’s a shame Blackburn never capitalised in its standing in electronic music because it pioneered rave culture in its early days.
  8. I wouldn’t judge bicep on that track lads, it’s a four tet remix and much more of an acquired taste!! So, aside from blasting out some four tet “parallel” tonight after being reminded, we have had a Dub night. This music genre imo is the most underrated and the U.K. has an unbelievably talented Dub scene. Seriously hoping there’s fans of this genre about Introducing Gentlemen’s Dub Club with my favourite track: I’ll also put a little plug here for a chap called Kiko Bun, he’s up and coming big time in this genre and has a great track with Loyle Carner but this is my favourite even if not strictly dub:
  9. Four Tet remix a Bicep track here. This was played in the same year at Boomtown as the Carl Cox set I posted. Early hours of the morning, pitch black with the immense production always on offer there. Love Bicep myself and think "Glue" is one of them tunes that is rightly overplayed. @The Hypnotic DJ Sneak was a great set. A head bopper. An album I would highly recommend to you electronic heads is the new-ish Chase & Status Album "Return 2 Jungle". I don't think there's a bad track on there frankly. Irah's vocals on it top it off. They also do a remix of Original Nuttah which is a must for any D&B/Jungle fan. This will be a very good topic.
  10. You have excellent music taste my man! I’ll let you know my thoughts on DJ Sneak later, it’ll be our background music when making tea 😎 Congo Natty was mind blowing. We worked it out today that was the clash. Nanci and Phoebe performed with him - starting with a crowd rendition of Three Little Birds following a death of a friend of theirs before 45 mins of wobblers. I don’t think there’s a record of the set online unfortunately.
  11. Me and the Mrs relived a great set from 2019 tonight. Only got to see a bit of this due to a clash - we can't quite remember who the clash was though...either Chase and Status or Congo Natty which tells its own tale as to the state of us............ For the younger audience I will say. If anyone has ever been to Boomtown this stage is quite the experience when the sun goes down. We were sceptical about Carl Cox but fuck he delivered with a banger.
  12. In a bit of a funky mood this morning. This guy is a mixer, trust me. For the fans of this type of music skip to about 32 minutes for one of the best drops in music history. You will not regret it.
  13. Sunderland are a toxic club. Rodwell was the same there. Yeah he arsed about the contract signing but when here there was no real issue with him, he put effort in on the pitch and did his job. There’s just something about Sunderland that I don’t like.
  14. Probably being pedantic Jim but standing at 6 foot 5 and 18 years old I would consider him a man. No doubt they are still learning, and are a long way from the finished articles, but constantly hearing "2 kids on loan" I am left scratching my head wondering whether we have signed some 15 year olds or 2 Premier League centre backs who you can have a pint with
  15. Lovely signing. A uni friend of mine sings his praises. Crewe have a good academy and have churned out some decent footballers in the past - notably one is currently first choice in our rivals' midfield. Hope he turns out similar. Quite the young team we have going at the moment which is nice to see. If we can tie down Nyambe to another 3 years we'll be in good stead long term.
  16. Might seem pickety but why do you constantly refer to them as "kids"? Brainthwaite is a 6 foot 5 18 year old with Premier League appearances. He's hardly a kid. He's a fully grown man. You throw kids around in every post you talk about him but, personally, as a 27 year old I would think I would give any kid a run for their money. Put me up against the man that is Branthwaite and I would be thrown around like a rag doll. The same goes for Harwood Bellis, who has played in Champions League games and is a 6 foot 2 19 year old man. While they might not read this and it is irrelevant to them you should pay them the respect they have earnt and refer to men as men and stop trying to disregard them as kids. They are probably bigger and wider than you are.
  17. Braithwaite is a good en. Never looks phased by what is in front of him, dives in at the right time, stands up at the right time. Everton have a real player on their hands imo. Elliott has looked off the boil lately. I think he needs a full 90, try and get a goal and some confidence. They weren’t arsed about football. Wasting time again, 10 men behind the ball. They had some decent spells but overall very anti football. Ugly wins still get you 3 points.
  18. Oh well. We had a perfectly good goal disallowed last game. This game we got away with a penalty. It’s a game of swings and roundabouts. Fantastic away win and on to the next. No point going over old ground.
  19. Problem is that the refs tend to even them decisions out. We will either miss a stonewall decision or he will give them a real contentious one.
  20. Does anyone remember years ago, when it had quite a bad snowfall, and we were one of only a couple of games on? That includes Premier League too, as we were a Prem club at the time. “We will respect the legacy”. They are scoundrels. This is what they have brought us too. Our pitch used to be fantastic given the area we are in.
  21. Proper sick to the back teeth of this. The changes are just mind boggling again imo. This is a waste. A talented team being ruined by a system that isn’t working.
