Tony Mowbray Discussion
Dreams of 1995 replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19131704.tony-mowbray-the-bigger-picture-fan-frustrations/ Anybody else tear their hair out at this interview? Now it is the fact we are missing Holtby and Johnson that contributes to the losses. It was Dack and Travis earlier in the season. Name me a club that hasn't got one or two good players missing at any one time....that's football!! He keeps talking about the 'bigger picture' and how hopefully the 'OWNERS' see that. What is quite clear is that he knows Waggott will not sack him. We also know the Venkys will stick with him too. This man isn't going anywhere and is entrenched in our club. He's that safe in his role he can even go in the local press and talk about how other managers do not survive runs like this. It is bollocks. It can only happen at a badly run club. When we are in poor form it is when we see how fragile our position really is - they are too slow to act, simply do not care about Blackburn Rovers or the town and unfortunately that allows idiots to take advantage. It will never, ever change while they are in charge. The Maggott Crusade goes on unfortunately. It also puts to rest the idea that his 'decency' will see him walk. He has underachieved and is trying to reset the 'journey-clock'. I've lost all respect for the bloke frankly. He's lied one too many times now. -
He wouldn’t last two minutes in an Allardyce side. I want this fucking lot gone - Venus, Mowbray, Lowe the lot. It’s embarrassing now. Im actually seething. Such a good day ruined by this. Is it bad I was hoping this game would never come? Found myself counting the minutes down with the feeling of really not wanting to watch it. I’ve had that same feeling for the past 3 games now. Dont win in a whole month and this clowns answer is to play Bell and Evans. Just give over - your time is up, now bugger off.

Yesssss Phillipe Zdar is part of Cassius who of course released this classic in 1999 France has a really cool electronic scene man. David Guetta is from France and he started out a great artist but did a bit of a Chipmunk and went for commercial music. Cant blame him as he’s a multi millionaire now but wish he would release a few more bangers. -

Bored of him, bored of it all. Have some dignity and walk. If we were in the ground you’d know about it! -

Is a draw enough for him to be sacked? -

We have been abysmal second half Cant believe it really. I’m lost for words now. Don’t even feel angry like I usually would be, just fed up, apathetic and resigned to the fact we are in this never ending cycle of nothingness. His time has come. Get this man out of the dressing room. -

Playing well. Brereton is looking ok, just needs to make the ball stick more often. Think Travis still looks off his best. These are a poor side and I think we’ll get away with a win today. -

I first heard of London Grammar in a feature they did for Disclosure. Such a good track. Has that feel good feeling to it and perfect for a day like this! That album by Disclosure was very good actually. -

Not motivated in the slightest. But for what it is worth I’d go for 4231 I thought Davenport had his best game for us vs forest, and was unlucky to miss out on the next game for Travis. Kaminski Nyambe Harwood Bellis Brainthewaite Douglas Travis Davenport Elliot Dack Rothwell Armstrong -

Thanks Tyrone! I’m not married yet so I should change it to the ‘missus’ really....but if she keeps playing her cards right that could change. Luckily for me her music collection is better than mine so I’ll be quids in Onto music, today was a beautiful day so it was definitely a day for some rhythmic beats. Opted for a French artist called “Biga Ranx” who is sensational. The album “1988” has to be my favourite. Favourite song being “My Face”... -

Displeased is an understatement. This guy used £10m+ of their money and half of that went on a player who has two left feet and is useless in the air despite being 6ft. The other is BB and I still have faith in him but I think he needs a better manager to play a tune. This squad is capable of going up. I don’t buy that we have a poor squad. When we attack we can be phenomenal at times but there’s no organisation and we often find ourselves with 7 attackers not really knowing what they are supposed to do in defending or transition. Get the back right and our attackers will do the job for us. -
Mowbrays Successor
Dreams of 1995 replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Any manager that comes here has to be prepared to do it all. At this club he is a manager and not a head coach; he has to oversee everything from scouting, training to buying the tea and biscuits. I don’t think Hughes is that guy. I am a modern bloke but in this instance I want a dinosaur. I want a Mick McCarthy type who has been there and done that - knows how a club who wants to win is run and knows how to get out of this league. We can dream. -

Change of that magnitude? Pardon the French but FUCKING HELL - they went through managers like nobodies business at one stage. Sacking Mowbray isn’t a change of huge magnitude if you have a stable board, a coaching structure, a plan and a replacement.... .....oh....I get it now. -

I ain’t up for selling our training ground with this lot. Need every help they can get. Lost trust in this guy. Cant trust him. The Cov 3 in their entirety have overstayed their welcome. Where are the “interested owners”? -
I can’t remember the last time I looked on the LT prior to the training ground news. Now I realise why. Quite terrible journalism. There’s a story to be had with Rovers if they bothered. Let’s start with a recent timeline of Waggot, like JH put together, and his links with clubs’ “developments”. There is no smoke without fire.

I have a pair of Bronz BX2s right now. They are passive speakers and unfortunately the amp died not long back so I’m using a cheap amp atm. The Mrs on the other hand was (is) a fantastic DJ when she’s up to it. She has a pair of JBL eon speakers, but I haven’t quite gotten around to finishing the bar / den / entertainment room so they are gathering dust along with the rest of her equipment. It’s a touchy subject...... JBL do fantastic headsets too if anyone is after a pair, I would highly recommend. -
Has his post been deleted? Put much better than I would Miller, and quite honestly the fact he still isn’t understanding what is meant by legacy of Jack Walker - despite excellent posts by Matty and Revidge also - suggests to me he never will. Having never met Jack, and only remembering the later years of his ownership, I think I can still firmly say that he wouldn’t have sold Brockhall to downgrade and risk our category A academy for a short term financial gain. “Cut throat” business man or not (are you purposely trying to get a reaction Joe?) The idea that the majority agree with this is wrong. A majority of our fans don’t post on social media I would guess and even that isn’t unanimous in supporting this. There will always be some contrarian figures who want to be seen to be reasonable, against the grain, “able to see all sides” but the reality of the matter is that there’s not a positive take on this if you bother to look at the plans in depth. I am yet to be answered (three times I’ve asked him now) what’s to be positive about this training ground? There’s nothing proposed we haven’t already got and, in actual fact, we are losing more than we are gaining. So whilst it is not disrespectful to Jack to “see the positives in a training ground” it is blatantly disingenuous to be claiming there are positives when the proposals show for certain this is a downgrade.

Sorry I should have caveated with in the long term. I said beneficial too, not profitable. A land sale will be profitable but to who? We (BRFC) will only see a portion. A lot will go to developers and given Mark Venus track record I’m far from comfortable with that at the moment. Imo it is not remotely beneficial, finance or otherwise, to sell off such good land in order to effectively downscale and also whilst these lot are in charge, because I don’t trust them to spend it wisely. As a fan I can’t even see a benefit yet because im thinking of the day these lot leave as our future. The more they take the less we have to offer for a prospective buyer. Ambition could lead to us needing that space again. I don’t understand how anyone can have a good thought about this with the long term in mind.
-
You can’t use “could” as a pro. Sorry. Nothing they have done has ever been as good as something Jack has done *30 YEARS AGO* It isn’t financially beneficial to the club either. Again, I’m struggling to see any pro to this. Look at the facilities we have, look at the facilities they now propose and tell me again what are we gaining from this? We being Blackburn Rovers btw.
-
This in a nutshell. Selling off land for development is final. Once them homes are built we will never be able to house our training centre there again. We may not use them pitches now but an ambitious owner might do. Selling land devalues our club - they have done enough of that already. I am still waiting for someone to list actual positives of this development except for people other than the club. The proposals do not replicate what we have whatsoever. It’s a downscaling operation and it has all been laid out for us in those plans. If you don’t come to that conclusion then you either don’t understand the plans or quite frankly don’t care enough. This IS a black and white thing. Theres no room for “other opinions” tbh because it is either a good thing or a bad thing and no in the middle. I would argue selling our land is a bad thing when the reality of the refurb is that it’s downscaling. I wait to be proven wrong though.
