First half performance left me feeling a bit sick. Terrible. I take back what I said about Brereton earlier. He’s had an awful game -

This is the worst camera work I have ever seen. Miss most of the game with either sun glare or blatantly missing the ball. -

Brereton to continue being the best wide striker in the world and bag a hat trick today. -

Venkys - Welcome or Not?
Dreams of 1995 replied to den's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
To be fair that is only one or two people As I live outside of Blackburn now maybe I am misunderstanding the mood but I certainly never got the impression Venkys would be welcome. The tweet "absolutely doomed if we leave" is so wide of the mark it is unbelievable. The day they leave is the day we get our club back. I look at Balaji in the same way I look at Anderson. Pure hate. I know that isn't good for your soul but quite frankly I couldn't care less. I don't like the man, never will do, and I am glad that Anderson is in a world of trouble with dodgy people right now. I don't quite know how I'd react if I saw them getting a standing ovation at Ewood again. I think in all honesty I'd probably walk away and never look back. There's plenty of local non-league clubs I could watch and throw my support to, however devastating it may be, but I could never, ever be in an atmosphere that is friendly towards them. From intimidating fans, siphoning of money, dodgy deals and the lies said about Jack Walker it is a hugely bitter pill to swallow seeing some of our fans forgive them, nay say we should be thankful for them. Those fans should stand for a moment in front of the statue of Jack and ask themselves what he would think and do. It wouldn't be clap. -
Venkys - Welcome or Not?

It annoys me every time I see this topic rear its ugly head. Although this time it was for a better reason than someone genuinely asking the question I guess. They aren't welcome and never will be either. They have utterly mismanaged our club to the point that Accy Stanley are now getting more iFollow purchases than we are. It is a total embarrassment and perhaps a rude awakening for our future. The Venkys will always be pariahs in the town of Blackburn. Nothing they can do will make it otherwise. -

Not enjoyed watching Evans play in a Rovers shirt for quite some time now. Make of that what you will. Even his good performances are thrown aside in my mind because a terrible one is not far around the corner. Inconsistent and imo does not try hard enough. Yes he has had some terrible injuries the past 12 months but prior to that these little niggles and knocks he suffered for us never stopped him putting on a N.I shirt. That doesn't go unnoticed. At the end of his contract say bye, thanks for the service and good luck with your future endeavours.

Summer Transfer Window
Dreams of 1995 replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Very rare to see a 21 year old stamp authority in central midfield. If he has a game where he does that, at his physicality level and experience, he will have had an exceptionally good game. At the moment it is good to see the games he doesn't get overawed and disappointing to see the games he does (Forest). What is promising is that he has far less games where he struggles. He always has moments in the game when you can see the talent. If we remember when Brereton came we saw none of that! I have confidence in our coaching of young players that Buckley will become a very good player for us and with all confidence in my mind a Premier League player one day (with us!!). -

Well, let's put it this way about the great Andy Cole. Premier League goals: Shearer 260 Rooney 208 Cole 187 Aguero 180 Lampard 177 Henry 175 Fowler 163 Defoe 162 Kane 150 Owen 150 That is the current "top 10". If you can name me a player in there that isn't a top class striker / scorer then fair play to you. If Aguero, Kane, Lampard and Owen were/are all world class then so was Andy Cole! -

Posted in April 2019. Since that game he had half a season before being injured in December (?) What changed in those 4 / 5 months that stopped him being "fat Bradley" and not as good as Ashley Fletcher? He was scoring goals and impacting games way before the first half of last season. You've called Buckley crap a few times too, told us he'd be better served going out on loan to some low level club "in a rigid 4-4-2" (bit out dated for a player like Buckley...). What do you not see in him that others do? His weight of pass and first touch is excellent - his game management will come, with time, and so will his physicality and use of it. I don't see how Buckley will benefit from following Mols to some 4th tier side in Spain when he is getting minutes here... I'm sure you also told us Mols was a better player than him. If Whiteman and Mols are better than Buckley then why is one getting bids from Hull and Barnsley, the other in the 4th tier of Spanish football, and the poor one raved about by almost everybody else? -

If you are 17 and pushing on the doors of Liverpool, getting first time experience in the Championship week in week out, you are only going to develop. Whilst I agree Phillipl is prone to the drama he's probably not wrong in saying he'll be a world-wide star one day! -
It's a nice problem to have AN but a problem nontheless. Either Holtby or Rothwell has to make way for Dack. None of the front 3 possibly can at the moment. You can't accommodate Dack, Rothwell and Holtby in the same midfield. I do think we will end up as a 4-2-4 with the midfield 2 and centre halves almost becoming a back 'square', either midfielder pushing to the left or right full back depending on which went forward. It's how a lot of teams set up, kind of like Man City with their full backs almost being central midfielders at times!! Holtby could keep as one of the middle 2 when we are expected to win, with Johnson and Trav playing the tougher games.
-
I think Dack will come in for either Rothwell or Holtby and we will be left with an almost 4-2-4. A midfield "three" of Dack, Johnson and Travis could work with Trav and Johnson sitting whilst Dack joins in with the front 3. We have an abundance of talent there now. There's absolutely no reason that, when all fit, we shouldn't run every game in the midfield department. We can switch between players of equal quality.
-
A bargain! Half a million for a top quality goalkeeper, with top European experience. You can tell with his communication he has played at a high level. You don't get away with being quiet in front of top defenders. If he's training with the Belgian squad he'll be looking at the likes of Curtois and seeing how elite goalkeepers act and behave. Thought he was unlucky for the penalty but was a great save in the first instance.
-
He is establishing himself this year. He's almost a guarantee start at the moment. Something has happened in coaching during the last 6 months. I want to be able to credit Johnson for it but can't say for certain. What points it towards DJ is that Brereton's starting positing when receiving the ball is much better. He is in between the lines of the full back and the centre half, picking on the half turn and playing a pass infield. He's even holding the ball up much better. He can turn a defender now too, as shown on Saturday with a couple of touches from a high ball and he brought it down, turned his man and created opportunities. Over the course of the last few seasons it almost feels like Brereton was taken apart to put back together again. He has real confidence at the moment. My only hope is that he isn't a streaky player, and what we are seeing now is his "purple patch" only for him to eventually become the Brereton we saw this time last year.

Super Ben Brereton!!! Johnson won the ball back a handful of times in the last few minutes. Had a good game. -
Said the exact same thing myself. Lenihan is flat footed. That’s why he turns like milk!! He gets beat far too often and his running technique is probably why.
-
Probably the worst I’ve seen us play to be honest. All season we’ve at least looked lively on the ball. Terrible in all departments. Has to be a big half here. We are on a shocking spell. So disappointing. The let downs are all too common as a Rovers fan these days. Think we’ve been on the same rollercoaster for a few years now.

5 foot 9 Ayew beating Lenihan in the air every time. Fuck off.
