Love shit house performances like that. We were crap in anything other than getting in the way of the ball but who cares? 1-0 is all that matters. Joint top, another win and clean sheet, and we go again at Hull Love this squad of players. Van Hecke, Lenihan and Wharton are Spartans. Fuck me I wouldn’t want to play against them. Silver lining is we will see this Dutch lad quicker than we may have thought. Let’s hope he’s class like the rest of the players. Could win the World Cup this team, conceding none all the way there. Kaminski is a GOLIATH!!

Turnover does not equal profit and therein lies the issue when people make wild assumptions like fact when they are working on dodgy information -

To be honest I was more interested in what information isn’t in the public domain Way I see it it is revenue less player/staff spending. All of that’s in the companies house accounts. I’m fairly certain that over this 3 year period we were damn close to breaking the rules, but again I would confer to the account minded posters on it -

If not every piece of information required to calculate FFP calculations is in the public domain then how do you reckon we aren't on the border of regulations? If I am not mistaken our accounts have shown losses year on year. Over a 3 year period we may not lose what is required of FFP to place restrictions but I think from the undertakings of some accounting bods who post on here we weren't far off breaking the rules save for the training ground / Arma sale. -
The only players at Burnley that I’d want is Pope and maybe McNeil The rest aren’t that good. Just organised with Dyche. If he ever does go that squad is bottom of the table fodder Cornet doesn’t look a bad player but how long he is there is anyone’s guess. Can’t see him being there when they are in the Championship next year

Luckily for us Bournemouth appointed Parker who imo isn’t that great a manager. He’s making hard work of it with Bournemouth with a good squad of players. -
Good player but Van Hecke is better

Reckon you’re bang on here If we get up we’ll likely sign him. If not we’ll send him back and rely on the lad from Ireland -
The absolute worst openers though. Gotta agree with Jim 😬 on this one. Even Crawley is uninspiring. I’m a fan of the white ball game but one of a minority in preferring the red ball. It just seems to be at the bottom of England’s priorities. In doing so we have a bunch of white ball players. The openers don’t soften the ball up enough for the rest. You want players like Root at 4 or Stokes after him coming in when the ball is softened. He will have more of a chance. I think last time we played the Aussies we opened with Roy. Unstoppable in the white ball game, bloody awful with a red ball. Burns looks genuinely uncomfortable when batting which is odd for an opener. Hameed will give his wicket away every game no matter if he’s looking in good nick. I think unfortunately the openers are spoiling the squad. A great middle order, decent bowlers but not a spinner in sight but just bang average openers.

If Nyambe left it would be a bad move for the club. Life moves on though. He’s a great player and one of our own so it stings that bit more. He isn’t irreplaceable though. Nobody is in the world of footy, save your megastars. The thing we need to concern ourselves with now is who replaces him. We’ve picked out two decent left backs in Edun and Pickering so here’s hoping we do the same again at RB. -

Dutch lad I met travelling is an avid Ajax fan and his response to the right back was “built like a beast, not really great though, not bad but not great” - apparently failed at Ajax Then again he also didn’t know who Captain Van Hecke is and once told me Ooijer was crap Source: Dutch lad I met travelling -

What’s your obsession with this? Chill out - bloke can post what he wants. If you take him up on it that’s on you but unless posters fecking Harvard reference their source you are all over it There’s enough pure wild speculation on here. It’s footy. If he claims to know it from somewhere then who gives a god damn. Believe it or don’t - he doesn’t have to reveal any info, doesn’t need to post anything really, just be thankful you have posters who may know something you don’t. At the end of the day if you believe it that’s on you Was once a time people used to post all sorts on here - it’s what got me into the site - but blokes like you just drive people away demanding revealing sources and all sorts of crap like they will do. Was a lad called bbrovers or something a while ago and the same happened to him. It never used to happen, and you’re the main culprit, stop it -

I liked Graham but I have to agree with this part. Why do we need Wood? He is not the type of player we need right now Its been working with Buckley through the middle and Khadra and BB out wide. Get us a more polished Dolan or a Khadra we own but Wood is just a bit of an odd fit if you ask me Even if we did want a player to hold the ball up I think there’s better than Wood out there -

I think it is yeah Even when I used to run in the egg and spoon race at primary school I wanted to win I would like to go up as Champions here but as you say I would be over the moon at going up. It didn’t lessen my joy at promotion at all but it would have been nice to take the trophy too -

It’s better than being listed as runners up though But yeah I wasn’t personally that bothered about that Charlton game because it was mission accomplished. He still should have went for it. Just showed a bit of disrespect to the other teams and also to the Club imo. -

Personally think that’s fanfare for Chileans. They love Bielsa and they love Brereton. Although that could go a different way too I suppose. Does direct running BB fit “Bielsa ball”? He still isn’t really a pass and mover and his first touch can be a bit off. Nowt that can’t be improved but I dont think he’s the striker to fire in the goals required to keep them in the Prem. might be wishful thinking. -

If you sell Brereton you may as well kiss the 3 out of contract lads goodbye and promotion whilst you are at it What sort of message does it send out? 2nd in the table and you sell the most in form player in January!! I think we should give up on teams like Newcastle when they are lining up boys like Trippier and Coutinho. Other than that I couldn’t think of another Prem club who need him except the bastard dingles and that ain’t happening -

If somebody tells me they want 10k for the piece of artwork that I feel is worth 1k then me not choosing to buy it doesn’t mean I can’t afford it. What it actually means is that I don’t believe it is value for money. I hold that value in a different regard to you When you purchase an asset you do so because of the value to you - whether material or otherwise. Someone may tell you it is worth that but really the only valuation that matters is the spender You might believe it blindingly obvious but I don’t think it is as clear cut. There’s a hell of a lot of players demanding money that the market cannot provide and Covid has really shown that up. Hence the vast amount of players sitting on contract offers throughout the leagues. In this case Ryan may think he’s worth breaking the managed wage structure we clearly have but our management team don’t think he is worth it. Could we break that? Probably. Do we want to? Evidently not We may not want to because we want to see where we are in the summer, or that we think we can get better value for our money elsewhere (like sparks northcote analogy), but to automatically assume that we cannot afford it means you are very open to meeting unrealistic demands and at its worst open to not actually achieving true value for money…such as eating at Northcote! It might simply be a case of we do not want to meet his wage demands because they don’t think he is a player worth paying 15/20k a week even if he and his agents do (hypothetical I don’t know his demands) I suppose the question is: do you think Nyambe is worth breaking the wage structure? Because by paying him x amount it will then bring up the market value of a Rovers contract, meaning players of similar quality / stature will expect a similar amount. I don’t personally think it is a black and white case of if we can afford Nyambe and I wouldn’t rule out the management team thinking he just isn’t worth what his demands are And even all the above aside it also may be a case of Nyambe believing he can play in a better league and wants to asses his options at the end of the year knowing he can leave on a free. Agents are advising this in the current climate of sky high transfer fees -

There’s a difference between not being able to afford him and somebody demanding more than they are worth None of us really know the offer on the table but we do know that a lot of clubs have players unwilling to sign new contracts. We also know the typical advice from agents is to sit tight and wait in the current climate -

I don’t get it Whether it’s playing Sunday mornings, or if injured down watching (no matter the weather), or getting to a Rovers game, I couldn’t think of much better ways of spending a day than watching the beautiful game I feel sorry for you. It must have been hell being a Rovers fan these past 10 years without a genuine love of the sport As my old man would say “you’d watch 11 snails play if you could” - he’s right. Sounds cheesy but the actual game of football is just brilliant, regardless of what you may think of other aspects of the sport itself edit - just saw your post about being pissed. Fair play, I’ll join you on that one 🍻😄🎄
