I know he had piled on the pounds in recent years so one can only speculate that it was a heart attack or stroke. He was a master at his craft, that's for sure. RIP.

Like me you’re old enough to remember Kidd at Wembley - my kids didn’t get him but got Lambert, who was perhaps a less obvious one.
