I'm not usually a fan of posthumous releases of 'new' or 'undiscovered' material, as there's usually a reason why it didn't see the light of day while the artist was still alive, and that is because they didn't deem it good enough.
However, Gerry Rafferty's daughter has just put together some of the things he was working on in the years before his death, enlisting the help of many who played on the sessions to finish the songs off. Its a mixture of his own compositions and a couple of folk classics, with the album ending with Gerry's re-recording of Stuck In The Middle With You.
The album is called Rest In Blue
Its worth buying just for his rendition of Wild Mountain Thyme, which apparently reduced Billy Connolly to tears when he heard it.
