  1. No football club should be able to secure a 6 year old. Full stop. Rovers not culpable here for a change.
  2. Of course they didn’t - but that wasn’t my point was it? Maybe I should have prefixed it with “If things don’t work out for him at Rovers”……
  3. Open goal...... The Jam - Going Underground
  4. Good post. Can't agree with the bit I've highlighted though. The fact that he is a Rovers fan might not be the most important factor but it cannot possibly be irrelevant. If nothing else, it ought to mitigate any accusations of him being a 'Billy Big Boots' or 'just using Rovers as a stepping stone' or 'what does it matter to him how we get on, he'll be back to Liverpool at the end of the season'. Call me old fashioned but I would be delighted to see 11 Rovers fans in our match day side.
  5. Sutton was a top class centre half, a very clever and brave centre forward and if I remember correctly he won the game at Ewood for Celtic by playing a deeper midfield role and nullifying Tugay. He certainly played all over the pitch at Celtic, who were a good team and played in the champions league back then. In all of those positions he was as good as anyone else at the club (with the possible exception of Shearer up front) and wasn't put there in a crisis as such. Very very rarely is anyone that versatile. Its not like chucking big Samba up top for the last ten minutes when we were getting beat, for example. Sutton also scored a century with the bat in a charity cricket game while at Rovers. 😲 I bet the other lads hated him at school.
  6. At least we'd have a stable back four.
  7. It looked a good finish but in reality he did what he always does, he just put his laces through it. By the way I'm not knocking the lad but he's not a composed finisher in the way that -say -Ian Rush or Thierry Henry were. If all he ever does is smash it in those situations he'll miss more than he'll score at that level.
  8. The Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love?
  9. Chris Sutton possibly the most versatile of them all.
  10. Walk the Moon - Shut Up and Dance
  11. Yes RIP Gerd Muller. One of the best strikers I have ever seen.
  12. Donna started at Blackburn Council at the same time as me and she’s the same age too. Sad to hear she’s passed away at such a relatively young age. RIP
  13. Sad news that Gav. RIP
  14. The Jam - All Around the World
  15. Mott the Hoople - One of the Boys
  16. Was it just me that was baffled by Croft bowling that last over at numbers 9 and 10? Surely we had something left that they wouldn't have fancied facing? And then there was the lacklustre way he bowled the next two balls after the first 6. I was livid after that. PS - England aren't half gonna miss Jimmy when he's retired.......
  17. Millwall is a place we have rarely struggled at in fairness, going back donkeys years. Granted its a long time ago now but who will ever forget smacking 4 past them as they were crowned second division champions at Cold Blow Lane (the Old Den) and sneaking into the play offs?
  18. The Smokin' Mojo Filters - Come Together
  19. Otis Redding - These Arms Of Mine
  20. Black Box - Ride On Time
  21. Helen Shapiro - Walking Back to Happiness
  22. Yeah I think he did for a while Tony. I may be getting my wires crossed here but I seem to remember Dave (his dad) playing in the same team as Paul Gallagher’s dad.
  23. The Beat - Best Friend
  24. Pretty sure I used to play football against his dad, Dave. I think he played for Shadsworth or someone like that?
  25. Diana Ross - I'm Still Waiting
