That was the exact analogy that was in my head when I typed that den!!

Yeah I knew that Jim, it was more a reference to the grand old age he reached and the fact that it will have been lying on a shelf for decades probably.

Almost certainly means that but it should have happened before now (Tuesday really)

Always seems a shame when anyone just falls short of a milestone like that. He had a good innings though. RIP Phil the Greek. Well written obituary on the BBC - wonder how long they have had this prepared!? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10224525

Mowbrays Successor

To be fair Matty I'm not sure Dyche was that highly thought of (or paid) when they first hired him. Certainly once he took them on their journey he has become well recompensed I should imagine. I think Klopp is a another prime example of a club pushing the boat out for a top manager and reaping the benefits (though I guess even he isn't earning as much as some of their players?). -

Some good stuff been posted already today! The Hollies - He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother -
Sensational last 11 holes from Justin Rose. And yet I somehow still can't see him winning it. I hope I'm wrong as he should have at least a couple more majors in his back pocket than he actually has. Speith recovered well from his triple bogey, especially given his history on this course.

This. Scousers can’t keep their gobs shut at the best of times, never mind the worst of times.

This is bang on. They were the noises of an increasingly desperate man. Absolutely no way has he spoken to Venkys about games either that frequently or in that much detail. What a con man. He's almost certainly wondering why and how he is still the manager of Blackburn Rovers.

I don't know any more than I have already posted to be honest. I will be very surprised if he is in charge on Saturday but I probably shouldn't be.

Three early wickets for Lancs on the first morning of the County Championship season. Good start after Sussex opted to bat first.

The Beatles - Two Of Us -
Ha ha yeah. We were all well past our primes by this stage but there are a couple of ex pros in that pic (not famous ones by any stretch) and the following year we had Barry Lavety instead of ‘Micky Quinn’. The giant next to me in the photo is no longer with us sadly. My advice to anyone is to keep playing for as long as you possibly can. Regardless of the standard.

C’mon now we have all played for them (far right, back row - about ten minutes before I had a heart attack 😂)

There are numerous examples of fabulous football coaches that debunk this, in fairness. Mourinho, Wenger, etc etc

Of all the problems we have at Rovers just now I’m not convinced Ben Benson is actually one of them. Having a dodgy keeper is not why we are in the predicament we are in.
