  13. No, that's a Pizza Express I believe ?

  15. Lancs were unbelievable sloppy at times last night. In the field early on, and throwing daft early wickets away needlessly when batting. What Vilas was doing when he ran out Croft is anyone's guess, though it was predicted uncannily just a ball earlier by Graham Onions in the commentary box! We won't get away with that sort of sloppiness in the knockout stages.
  16. What a footballing family that was!!! Stan was cousin of 'Wor Jackie' Milburn, a nickname that passed on to Jack Charlton I believe.
  17. Rare for me to disagree with you TS but of these two I think Rovers are more in need of a Tommy Smith than a Jimmy Greaves at the moment. Scoring goals isn't our problem.
  18. It was difficult to work out which ground that is. It is clearly an Archibald Leitch designed stand, and if we take the clubs that were in the first division then, several of them had a Leitch stand - but I found another photo which confirms that it is in fact Roker Park.
  19. The Jam - To Be Someone (Must Be a Wonderful Thing)
  20. It wasn’t a master stroke really, he didn’t have any choice - we needed wickets to win so you have to turn to your strike bowlers. Glad it paid off though.
  21. Looked unstoppable to me. Keeper not to blame at all
  22. Really sorry to hear that mate. Hope you get fixed up with something.
  23. Bruce Foxton - Number Six
  24. Basil's book is a brilliant read. I was really surprised at his very honest account of his anxiety issues. Cracking bloke.
  25. Indeed Gav, boxing somehow seemed more exciting back then. As for Minter, for all he was our best at the time, and a worthy champion, 'Boom Boom' was never in the class of the others on your list there. He had a big punch but was very susceptible to cuts, which if memory serves me right was how he lost 25% of his professional bouts. RIP Alan Minter.
