  1. Back from Rammstein. Simply effing amazing. The set list was great, Till's vocals were perfect and the stagecraft was spot on. What made it better was on Friday I found out my old school friend managed to get a ticket, so I met up with him and his girlfriend. Anyone who likes metal or rock should see them once.
  2. It may be nothing, but I remember the Coventry City right wing back being brilliant against us in the away game. I think hisnname is Dabo.
  3. My dad is a monkey hanger by birth. Never been but he always said it was an awful place.
  4. Probably not the right thread to ask, but what about that Lyons guy we got from Ireland? What was the point of signing him if he's bumming around the reserves?
  5. Not sure, but I'm glad that plonker has gone if he was a major player in these negotiations. Crap coach and tries to stitch up clubs for personal gain. A bit of a mini Kean really.
  6. Whoever had been negotiating contracts and transfer fees should be sacked if they're still around. The B BD deal was over priced without the sell on clause, so many players have had contracts run down, and that Armstrong deal..... appalling.
  7. I thought Andre Grey signed for Preston. I'm not sure he's all that anyway, and peaked a few years ago.
  8. If they lose all their good players like Cornet, Collins, McNeil and others, they'll have money but an obvious lack of talent and depth. Kompany would have to be very good in the transfer market to replace them. If he is a complete spanner and buys crap then next season will be really hard. The squad as of today is probably worthy of a top 3 place though.
  9. As the squad stands now, I'd expect them to be around the play offs, maybe better. However, they may lose some key players, and need the money to keep things stable off the pitch. If they don't get promoted this season, the next will be really hard. And a failure after that would mean disaster.
  10. I can see what you mean, but to take it to the extreme, that's like saying you'd pass on a young Messi over Emile Heskey. Dolan is 20, started like a house on fire and probably lost his way under the previous manager, who went from a fast, direct style of play to a general sense of confusion about formations, styles and so on. Dolan has time on his side to get back to being exciting. Even Ronaldo was a little flicky boy doing 23 step overs instead of passing or shooting when he first went to Man Utd.
  11. So many players develop these problems. I wonder what kind of work schedule they have when playing and training, and if mentors like coaches try to encourage more constructive ways to occupy their time. Even golf, or painting model aeroplanes would be better to take up than going to the pub after lobbing £2000 on the 3.30 at Doncaster.
  12. I'd rather one of these recruitment companies than Jerome Anderson or his former work colleagues. And I hate employment agencies (which are probably a completely different thing).
  13. I'll wait until the season starts, but JDT's attitude and demeanour is much better than Tony Mowbray's at least. I can imagine a younger player being uninspired after the latter says you should learn from a 30 year old clogger who spent most of their career in the lower leagues. Or told they're not playing well when stuck out of your natural position via a post match interview. Or having the club you're contracted to talked down and considered a minor small fish. Hopefully the new team will not be another Paul Ince.
  14. In what way? I meant he may be a player that only clicks under a certain manager.
  15. Cantwell sounds like he could be like Bellamy who only really worked under Hughes, or a waster like Taarabt, who everyone raved about but really could not be bothered and fell out with everyone.
  16. I'd keep Dolan, as I think there is some potential, and has had to play in a series of mad formations from Mowbray. He stormed it in the first half of last season.
  17. Not that bothered until we're in the division, but I'd say that Man City and Liverpool will still be the top 2, and Spurs will flatter to deceive again and only just about make the top 4.
  18. With regards to Birmingham City, doesn't David Sullivan co-own West Ham along with David Gold? How can someone have an interest in two clubs and be OK? Anyway, that Bassini guy has been ruining clubs for years, so I have no idea how he keeps popping up and being passed off as legit.
  19. The talk I saw was Piastri for next year, which is good. I just wish they could oust Latifi after Canada, and bring in De Vries, Hulkenberg or someone like that. They might have a car that isn't crap next year either.
  20. I agree, a person who has been at the top level, seen it and one it, to say 'Gareth they are dominating the centre circle, pack that area now we're 1-0 up' or whatever needs to be said. A coach who has worked with the greatest managers for a long time, that sort of thing.
  21. If we could find a Rahul Dravid and an Alistair Cook to go with our explosive players like Stokes, Butter, Barstow and so on, we'd be good. Archer having legs that work would help too.
  22. I may be wrong, but last time Preston won a trophy, Queen Victoria was still around, and people used horses and carriages as taxis.
  23. Farke, or Wagner would have been more of a known quantity and who I'd have liked but it's good to see we've thought outside the box and not brought in a Dobbin like Adkins, Monk, Pulis or Pardew. Now I said that, he'll be worse than Paul Ince was, and play Dolan as a target man, and so on.
  24. I am intrigued by the new set up if JDT comes in. It may work wonders, but probably not this coming season. I think we'll be rebuilding and letting players like Vale and Carter have a chance out of necessity. We must start sorting out transfers ASAP.
  25. Not only that Chaddy, a load of their customers had engine/hydraulic failures. This'll bite Leclerc in the arse later, with the engine limits. As someone who grew up watching Mansell and Hill at Williams, I hope they can afford to drop Latifi. He's been dreadful and will cost them in repairs over the course of the season. Bring in Piastri, or a young driver for the rest of the season, then forge some ties with Red Bull or VW when the Mercedes engine contract s up.
