Got tickets for Rammstein again. I wanted to go to Berlin, as I once visited when I was 8 (and Germany was divided. That didn't work out so I ended up with a ticket to Lisbon and the real Stadium of Light. I've not been to Portugal before, and not been abroad since 2017 so this will be fun.

You're right with all the other features, but I have always gone to festivals for music and never went to The Fringe at Edinburgh for example. And you sound way more sociable and gregarious than me. And I also hate seeing all those effing flags when the headline act is on as I feel sorry for those at the back of the crowd.

I'd never go to Glastonbury for the simple fact it's so popular tickets are sold when no-one is named as appearing on stage. I would not want to pay however much it is, and then have a bill made up of the likes of Starship, Ed Sheeran, some drill rap guy with a weird name and The Venga Boys.

I don't want him to get abuse, or boos at that match even though I was not a fan after the consecutive death spirals in the new year. He's nowhere near as bad as Kean (who deserves rotten fruit thrown at him on sight) or Coyle.

Didn't see the game, o it was great to see that compilation. He looks very calm and unflustered by people closing in on him when he has the ball. -
Forgotten Players

There was a French player, possibly signed by Big Sam, who I don't remember ever getting a game. Goulon I think. -
For once, I might be looking at deadline day with interest, instead of dread and despondency. Whilst I'd love Brereton-Diaz to sign a 5 year contract, and go on and score 25 more goals, if he goes I have a little bit more confidence that someone half decent may come in rather than a modern day Chris Brown, or some useless 19 year old who can't on a Premier LeagueU-21 subs bench.

To the Sunderland fans here, you can expect to not be relegated but you'll most likely see the following: 1. Talking down players and certain players being frozen out. 2. No team 'identity' in terms of playing style, despite a load of convoluted waffle. 3. Players being played in odd positions e.g. Strikers as wingers, your shortest player as a target man. 4. An awful 2nd half of a season where your team wins 2 games in about 18. 5. A lot of games where the team are hanging onto a result in the second half.

He sounds like the kind of nob that would be proud of that. I'm sure Robbie is upset about it in his mansion with his family.

It wasn't Robbie Williams was it Booth?

It does feel that there may be plans for transfers, and things are kept secret, which feels weird. For so long we've been completely inactive and complacent, and the lack of news is an indication of impending disappointment once the window shuts. For a long time, the best we could have hoped for was a loan of some kid from a Premier League club who may be good, or awful. And usually in a position we don't really need.

Stoke is an amalgamation of 5 different towns/villages, and at one point had 5 Town Halls. Maybe that sense of confusion. Maybe the production of pottery on an industrial scale has left some residual pollution that reacts badly when combined with alcohol and less legal chemicals.

I didn't know Neil had left Sunderland. I'd laugh my arse off if Mowbray got the job. Mind you it would be typical that he'd beat us in the first game we played against him.

Get him on a long contract, and if the times comes, demand a high fee and % of the next fee. Until we return to the Premier League and we get proper owners (who hopefully are not full on gangsters or war criminals) we have to think like this. -
Hopefully he'll warm to East Lancashire. I can safely say that Coventry is not too bad a place but not that sexy and glamourous. When I moved here I was struck by how many houses were pebble dashed, about 1/3 by my estimate. Areas like Hillfields (where Highfield Road was) and Wood End are......interesting at night.

Forgotten Players

As someone who lived abroad, have no connection with East Lancashire outside my real surname and only became a fan in the mid 90's there are a few names that crop up in my mind. Oumar Konde for instance, mainly because the sound of his name stuck in my head. Players like Stig Inge Bjornabye are the kind of solid stodgy player you forget, along with Craig Short, Garry Flitcroft and John Filan. Even Dino Baggio and Richard Witschge played for us. -
I know. Though I think the county game is a breeding ground for mediocrity, the hundred is a farce of a format that has ruined the domestic calendar. Compared to countries like Australia or most of India, the time the weather is good for any cricket is short, so the most has to be made out of that time. Pushing county games to the edges of that season will destroy our test team in the long run.

Will Joshua be content being a second or third tier boxer, one who up and comers fight en route to the top and/or an occasional mandatory challenger? A sort of Whyte, Parker, Chisora kind of career. I doubt he'll be in the position to be the top dog after 2 losses to Usyk, and have the massive fights he had a while ago. A fight against Wilder may be his last big money spinner though.

Premier League 22-23
Norbert Rassragr replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Wolves are run by an agent (Mendes?) On behalf of some Chinese guys who provide the money. The agent has a lot of contacts in Portugal, which is why they're all from there. Sure, it's probably 3rd party ownership, which is against the rules here but when have the rules mattered? After all we were/still are in a similar situation and the Premier League, FA et Al did nothing.
