  1. Thing about journeys are that they have destinations. Where's the destination for Tony's journey?
  2. Those people are the reason Mars bars get smaller, and cost more all the time. That's the politest way I can put it. They think this is 'our level' and are happy being really mediocre.
  3. You're not wrong on that Mercer. With all the talk of concussion in various sports, Tony is nutting his glass ceiling like........well you can put your own non PC metaphor in to finish that.
  4. Blimey. I know they're a tombola but at some point they'll have gone through any feasible manager and hit your Owen Coyle/Phil Brown types. I'll have to look at the odds to see who the bookies favour.
  5. If I was a capable player: Hughes, Big Sam, Dalglish. As an inept person nearing 40 and with dodgy knees, no pace and as much football talent as Steven Hawking: Steve Kean (playing in Brunei, and not at Rovers) Owen Coyle. I'd never inflict my real self on the budget of Rovers.
  6. As someone who likes a red wine, but is a cheap date is that a fancy 'more than £7' wine? I'm the sort who'd rather go on a mission with your Aldi Toro Loco (which is actually pretty good) and save the expensive stuff for special occasions like Rovers or Coventry RFU getting into the top division. Oh, and if you like gin, Roku is really good. All this is away from the point that Mowbray should be thanked but binned as he lacks that extra 15% to get us promoted, but consumer information is important.
  7. Do we want a chance of promotion? Yes. Will Tony get us there? No. Therefore he must be thanked for fixing Coyle's mess and someone else with better coaches brought in.
  8. If we can find a tough, able centre back to come in on loan to cover the injuries, that'll be great.
  9. Letting debts mount up and never getting a chance of promotion doesn't work either. This was supposed to be the big push for the play offs, and we have a squad capable of that, and yet we're blowing it. Oh well, at least you're happy with mediocrity and false dawns.
  10. We were closely linked with/run by an agent-Jerome Anderson. I'm not exactly happy with trying such an experiment again thank you, even if the agent is more honest. Agents are essentially parasites looking for big pay offs and taking money out of the game. Look at Pogba, Haarland, and the move that lead to the death of Sala.
  11. What's that Serbian guy who got Fulham promoted, and was Watford manager for a month up to? That's another possible name to throw in.
  12. I'd wet myself with excitement if Allegri or Poch came in. This season is a must win, with a lot of players out of contract, or probably ripe for a move (like Armstrong or Dack). It could get messy in the summer, and a new squad might be needed. Tony is not the right man to get us up.
  13. Hughes, Pearson, the Cowley brothers, Viera, Flores and Silva are all out of a job and Billic is soon to be. All are worth at least a look. Then there are other candidates actually in jobs.
  14. Good result considering the red card and injury in defence. Who'd be in with Ayala for the next game? Can we call back Magaloire, or is Williams available?
  15. Two I think. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure he had one full season, then came back.
  16. Problem is that it will be his '1st half' when he comes on. Still it would be worth it if he comes on and smacks the winner from 30 meters out like has a couple of times.
  17. All in all, it's great to have a sense of confidence and security that the goalkeeper can do his job. I've not felt this good since.........maybe Robinson when he first signed, or Friedel.
  18. I always thought he deserved a chance at this level after seeing him at Coventry, and knowing how much my one time season ticket holding friend rated him. To be top scorer in the division for a few seasons whilst the whole club has no idea which ground it'll play in, managers are coming and going, and the fans are in revolt against the owners must count for something. Just think, as JacknOry said, Newcastle could have saved £60m+ on strikers by not buying Joelinton, Carroll and Almiron and having Armstrong and Toney.
  19. I saw the score at 1-1 at my break at work deep in the second half, and expected another drab draw. It was a good surprise to see the result from the sort of game we'd expect to lose in the 91st minute.
  20. I was disappointed to read James Randi died in October. He was a magician and campaigned against fake psychics, and those con men who claimed to be preachers.
  21. Dubois vs. Joyce is more relevant and will probably be better. I think that's on tonight as well.
  22. It's from Athletico Mince, a Bob Mortimer podcast.
  23. Derby will have top advice should they need to replace the carpets then.
  24. Not as weird as seeing your sister on every game show going! She's been on several including The Chase, Impossible and that one with that Scottish lesbian midget. She's probably been on even more that I will remember later.
