  1. Saw the goals and I agree about Thommos, excellent strike. I do feel Bentley's goal was very good also, only saw it the once but I thought it was an excellent finish. Picked his spot and placed it just out of reach of the keeper and inside the post. I lot of players might have fluffed that one. Anyone else agree or was I just too excited.
  2. Never thought I'd live to see the day, jim are you actually smiling?
  3. I told you we weren't going to win on Penalties! Bloody well done Abs, I thought we were finished and well done the lads. Fickle me? No never.
  4. Love your optimism Abster, not going to happen though. Bit of a slide coming methinks
  5. It's LOSE, lose lose lose how many bloody times do you need correcting several of you. Did the dictionary change while I have been gone? I think I'm about to loose it, I'll use some of this lose change in my pocket, call the shrink.
  6. COME ON MODS, isn't it about time we were shut of this plonker. How much more of this repetetive anti Walker family should we have to endure. BAN THE SON OF A BITCH
  7. I am glad someone else thought so. He offered up the whole goal. invited the shot. I thougt we played some good stuff yesterday, 3-0 is harsh but they do have some quality don't they. Not too dis heartened.
  8. I get the same thing here still philip with the Mexicans, but they say ahh Bobby Charlton
  9. OK jim you got me there, somewhat inaccurate. Not saying he was not great, just lamenting what might have been had he chosen a different path. Does not know football? Joker you aren't you.
  10. Mixed feelings here, sad at the passing of a great, yet great sadness on a great who passed on being great. Talented yes, great, can't sell me on that I'm afraid, too many are wrapped up in what could have been. The man chose his own destiny and it was not the one we all would liked to have seen. IMHO he could have been simply the greatest footballer of all time, full stop. It was not to be and it was George Best's choice. Perhaps modern councilling and treatment would have helped him, had it been available then but I am sorry greatness is not measured in small amounts, a third of a career or so. Greatness is awarded to those who overcome ALL obstacles. God bless yah George you were a joy to watch but all those moments of brilliance are , for me, tempered by your long and painful demise. Yours was truly a heartbreaker.
  11. Waggy is it you that says England are always home from Tournaments before you are, if so you'd best have at least a fianls ticket
  12. Sorry lads and lassies but there can be only one outcome today. Citeh will win handily. We've been undone not by City but by the Internationals. A poor performance to boot. Well at least it's only Arsenal next week.
  13. I would not want him here, no way. Celtic is a perfect fit, one time great player, arguably one of the best ever midfielders, whose career is in decline. He can still have the big crowds and win stuff but play in a poor league, big fish small pond. Hell even an ex clarrot is looking good there I hear. Thanks for some fine football Mr Keane but you have done yourself, your Country, your team and it's fans a great dis-service of late. My hat goes off to Fergie for pulling the plug at the right time.
  14. Strongly disagree. I have the utmost respect for Roy Keane and his footballing in his prime. In my opinion what has come out of Keane in the last few years is not a man with the balls to speak his mind but rather a man whose skills are declining and he is in denial. Rather than accept he can no longer do what he used to he chooses to point the finger at others. The man almost single handedly trashed his own Country's chances of doing well in the last wWorld Cup due to some personal disagreement with the manager. He's past it, he knows it but cannot either accept it or admit it. A man with true stature, self belief and dignity does not do those things he did to his countrymen or teamates, nor does he renig on a hand shake agreement. A once great player in denial. The man needs to see someone.
  15. Or perhaps it sends the message that, in spite of the youth's impressive looking set up, the young players coming out of Blackburn fall short of making the big time. It may just look poor for us, all depends how you want to look at it.
  16. Anybody watch the U21's tonight? I saw some of the highlights, why is it England always seem to get done by a dodgy decision. When will cheaters be reviewed and punished severely. It's way past time IMHO.
  17. Don't want a thread police uniform but is this not a preview thread, don't we already have one about tickets?
  18. Should be a good open game. With Calamity James in the sticks it would be a great time for MGP to whip in a few direct shots from our corners. James would have to flap at a few.
  19. I forgot my current least loved person in football (is that better Krislu)SEPP BLATTER
  20. As much as I want to win this one I will be more concerned with Bellers coming back unscathed from his advenutes with Wales.
  21. A myth that I believed in for some time and likely still do. It's been so long since I've seen him I've forgot. I still don't think Amo was that bad all round. He came with a bad rap cos of a few huge clangers dropped and we all know that Rovers, unless you are a "chosen one", is no the place to lose that. That said he can't come close to the ability of what we have now or the confidence they instill in me.
  22. As far as Fergusons concerned, he deserves everything he gets, in a negative way of course.
  23. Check the history books folks, anyone thinking a few good performances will bring the crowds flocking back is mistaken. This public once lost is very very difficult to win back, You can also bet that when they do decide to go we will flop in an amazing fashion. It's the way it's been since the sixties. Thousands will walk away saying, see I told they weren't up to much, same old Rovers. Those pointing out the bigger gates in the Championship.... you could also point out the size of the town/city and the quantity of nearby competition for entertainment Pounds.
  24. I was happy to hear Brad made a couple of what sounded like great saves yesterday, at a crucial time too.
