  1. Let's not count any chickens on Bellamy and his fitness, there's always the possiblity he could do his knee pulling ona sock or lacing up his boots. I have my fingers crossed he will still be fit for the Chelsea game as he could be the one player to unlock them at the back.
  2. First comment, he did and he won't. Side not he better not try any more straight down the middle, did it against Leicester in the cup and only just got away with it today, if he does that on the next one he'll fluff it. On your second comment, I'll have some of what you are smoking. There is no similarity whatsoever in Dickov and Bellamy, 'cept perhaps height. What I think you mean is they both had similar chances, Dickov missed, Bellamy did'nt.
  3. I was not overly keen on him either but I've seen us have more clear cut penalties turned down and I really thought there was an offside for our second so, I'll not say anything. First half he was a bit picky though. I still think we can do much better we won at a canter I thought. Was a bit nervous when we lost Ryan but all ended well. Commentators here did little but pour negative comments on Rovers, not sure if they were the same ones as for over there but it is really getting on my tits.
  4. Yaaaawn. Hope the second half is better than that. Ref's a pest.
  5. When did they change that? I had no idea the whole bottom half of the Premiership got relegated this year.
  6. As far as attendance goes rubbish, I think the football ground in general is more sterile and pacifist and pure than ever before. Caring society and confrontational society? Are there such things. People of those trends exist but not whole societies I am sure. It's a crack at a footy match, not in the best of taste but that is all it was. Let's get over it without trying to play junior psychologist. I really hope you don't feel that folks airing their opinions is stirring up confrontation.
  7. Sparky may, just may want to leave a bit more of a legacy at Rovers. He might just want to accomplish something before he moves up, or on should I say. That said, should Sparky move on Mike Newell with the job he has done at Luton is looking like he could be a very capable replacement. Personally I don't think Sparky is ready to move on. As for Owen's hamstrings no surprise to anyone here is it. My biggest worry, knowing how unfit our players were when Sparky arrived, is that Owen will be way off the pace come World Cup time. If Souness does not lead his team to victory and they do poorly against bar code juniors in the Cup, he's gone.
  8. If the chant motivated him perhaps the Kop can take it up. Rafa will be happy if he scores more and Cisse won't be whining anymore. Not a nice chant but I've heard worse and I am glad McKevely is no longer in our team, likely would have upset him more. I did not hear it on the telly, nor did the commentators make reference to it. Let's move on. Brum this weekend and Dunny. Should we have a list on here of acceptable and upsetting chants so everyone knows before the game what is and is not acceptable.
  9. That would not have even been an issue had Freidal not offered about 6 yards of his goal mouth on a plate, with a bullseye on it and a flashing neon sign that read SHOOT HERE. Have you had much to say about Zura's tackle, np doubt had that been Savage you'd be saying Savage cost us the game. Likely also that had Savage not put in the challenge and the fella had curled a shot into the top corner you'd be on he bemoaning Savage's reluctance to throw himself into the challenge, I bet you would. Amazing how folks can see what they want and be blind to other things, all in the name of justifying their own opinions. We all do it. Some people can hold there hands up and admit perhaps they had not judged correctly.
  10. I could not have put it better TND.
  11. Not only did he miss Maradonna cheating he also missed at least one penalty shout for England as Lineker was pushed into the nets. I have still not forgiven England for wearing the colour of shorts they did that day.
  12. Becoming greater? What planet you from Neil, and I mean this in the best of spirits, not sarcastically. It's been going on for years, perhaps not as focused on actully stiffing it to Rovers but the favouritism shown the big clubs and big players has been glaringly obvious for years IMHO. As I said in an earlier post, Terry, Ferdinand and Cambell would not have even got a talking to and the commentators most likely would have been spewing out their superlatives like commitment and passion ad nausium. Why is the footy match commentating going American style too, I hate that. Two knob heads blabbering on about buggar all except how clever they are. Why do they not just commentate on the game that is going on in front of them, how it used to be.
  13. And also you were singing an octave or two off. Well done lads who cares about the broken leg song, just a bit of fun I'm sure. Cisse's answer was pretty clear though I imagine.
  14. I've been worried about Brad for about 2 seasons now. No one's wanted to listen though. Another thing he his getting into the nasty habit of, that will cost us if he keeps it up, is punching the ball DOWN into the penalty area he did it again yesterday, came and punched and it went right down a few yards in front. Now, when I was playing goalie I was always told punch high and away. Makes me nervous anymore Brad does.
  15. I agree, Robbie Savage did very well today, I particularly liked the time when he alone had 3 successive tackles, beginning to like him. All this talk of boring Premiership, well if they want to improve it fix the officiating (no pun intended) The match was shaping up to be rather entertaining until we went down to 10, I think Halsey felt he had to do something as he had just changed his mind on a penalty. Mmmm Halsey thinks, I know I'll send him off that will keep the scousers happy. I am sick of seeing it week after week after week. FA Bloody well do something.
  16. Too bad we lost. No one will like this but I'm afraid the goal was terrible goalkeeping. Friedal was at least 2 feet too far to his left, poor poor positioning. I could have put a ball through that gap.
  17. I've paid for it and I am thoroughly disgusted with Halsey. He lost his bottle. That has to be the weakest straight red I have ever seen. The game which was decent is now over as a spectacle. I suppose players are not allowed to tackle now are we supposed to just give them the game. I can bet my next pay packet, Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell and the like would not have even got a talking to. It's ###### and the favouritism IS a huge part of what is spoiling the game.
  18. Blatter speaks horse pucky. No he is not including all other Euro teams, you know it and I know it. Why did he not just come out and say Chelsea and Abramovich, There is some truth in what he says but the anti anything English pillock has only come out with this because of Chelsea. My feelings anyway. Nothing was ever said when the huge Europeans were throwing silly money around, the Barca's the Reals the Milan clubs. No he waits until an English club has a very wealthy benefactor then decides it's not good. He is an idiot, his comments about Rooney are out of order and will only serve to draw attention of the officials. Buggar Rooney and his passion, Blatter if you really give a ###### get a handle on your foreign fancy pants divers and cheaters, you won't though will you. What odds Rooney to be suspended, quickly, in next summers tournament. Sven or no Sven I have a warm fuzzy feeling that my tenner from Eddie can be spent already because of this prat, I have no doubt in my mind FIFA are already working on England's demise. I can not remember the last time we went out of a major tournament without some form of officiating help to the opposition. This hypocrite needs to be gone. Why not reduce the monies for the Champions league if he is so worried, spread it around the EUFA cup a bit, even things up, level the field. IF the Champions league was more prestiguiousrather than a financial windfall perhaps it would help, teams would not be so happy to dole out the dosh if it was for prestige alone. No, UEFA and FIFA have in a way created this monster but now the English teams are looking good it all of a sudden is a problem. As far as balance, salary caps for teams, the only way it will be done. But as Blatters states, that's basically illegal I suppose in the EU.
  19. Whilst I was not against Crouch getting a start I cannot fathom why the top English scorer in the Prem did not even get a kick. Also what the hell is Ledley King doing in there.
  20. They are all the same aren't they Abs. They all bad mouth the English but they all still live there
  21. I must have lived a sheltered life, I've never seen a wine tree, or is it a bush or plant of some form.
  22. I,m assuming hating all things English does not fall under your "racism" blanket.
  23. I'm sure nothing more than you have against the sassenachs. What ever happened to Scotland. You used to be so proud, so passionate full of fighting spirit. Now you are a joke. Why? Ok Ok England are not much better in terms of National Pride but we all should be asking why. Why has top notch players turning out for their country become such a sad joke.
  24. Honest answer. Good job I was paying attention. I was wondering why Sunday and Thursday. Just don't let it happen again
