Actually yeah it does. Typical of the way our society is now, it's the other blokes fault you cheated him.

[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone
USABlue replied to adam lodge's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
They did a similar thing on FSC here a while back, best buys of the season and all the drooling was over Berbatov and Martins, someone mentioned Benni and the response was "mmm yeah he's done OK, not bad" Surely when one is considering best buys one should include the price paid, this for me makes Benni far and away the best buy. OK we know his traits that we don't like but he stuck the goals away and that is what strikers are paid for. -
Simple, he said, "self, club, country" in that order which is exactly what Bents did but now the shoe is on the other foot it's all a big to do. It's classic hypocrisy on Pearce's part and if you fail to see that R6 you should keep to talent spotting football management. Odd, I don't seem able to find that quote now, did I dream it?

Mido, tops my list by a long shot. Berbatov is not the only reason he does not get a look in R6. -
I do believe there is some truth to that statement. I am sure if it was one of the big boys "stars" it would have been smoothed over a lot better and with some commitment, you'd have medical experts on backing the players claims and all that. Yeah I think there is something to it being us. I have not heard much furor regarding Abgonlewalkabout who plays for Villa. Did Martin O'Neill not make similar claims of fatigue? how many games has that lad played?
-
To be honest I was a little bit upset when I first heard of this. However I think the article that best puts things in true perspective is the one on the very front page of this site, it indicates that if England do well then Bents has only 6 days off to prepare for a the upcoming season. Simply not enough, I applaud what the lad has done in the interests of BRFC. I too agree that it might have been different of McClaren would have pulled his head out his arse long ewnough to actually watch the performance of the players he is picking. The lad turned in 2 MOM peformances and was completely overlooked for Dyer and Jenas. I'd be miffed too, what does this lad have to do.
-
Just got back from a bike tour. So, if I understand correctly, Bents did not even get on the pitch? Not surprised are you? After all he only plays for Blackburn Rovers and we all know it's the team you play for that will get you picked when the manager is under the cosh. Anyway McClaren needs to go and NOW. HE should never have been appointed in the first place and it is just another shining example of how far out of tune the FA really is.

No YES No Don't know why but I have the gut feeling Mr Doyle is one of those one season wonders. I doubt he will emulate his heroics of this season in the next. I hope I am wrong cos I sort of like Reading and Mr Coppell (must be his bubbly personality) -

I have never liked Mido, made no secret of it when we were after him either. Don't like him don't like his play don't think he's all that. I was sooo glad we did not get him. Keane or Defoe, in that order would do nicely thank you Martin. -

As for holding Benni to his contract, Is it really a good idea to force a player who, at the best of times can look disinterested, to play wherehe does not want to? I mean if his effort looks poor now image what it might be like. -

Yes but apart from the excitement it might provide at least we are not in a relegation battle. Seasons been over for me for sometime now. Sick and tired of the asinine refffing, another bogus one against us today, handball my arse, was the Villa player onside for the first? couldn't tell. Matter of fact I am not even watching hardly any footy at the mo' When the FA get some competent officials out there, there is a strong case for refs who have played the game ffs, and they can convince me this game is not skewed (fixed if you choose) perhaps I'll get more interested again. That and beating Chelsea. Kuqi, Jeffers and Garner give me a break Fife. Was always fond of Kuqi but... come on. Look to next season, if Sparky is still here with a fully fit squad and perhaps a reasonable break with the injuries I'll be feeling better. I see Benni hit his penalty exactly the same spot he did the two against Bolton, he'll have one saved next time. -

I don't usually resrot to this but you are an utter plonker. Or is that plonkerette. Idiot. -
Let's keep our heads here lads and lassies. As fond as I am of our Matty the 2nd and as good as I feel about him being an excellent poacher of goals, world class is just plain silly. Bentley earned his full cap on the back of his performance for th eunder 21's but "no balls McClaren" is not about to take a gamble with a new player who is not one of the big fours or otherwise media proclaimed big clubs. Chances are he will bring Bentley in when there is nowt left to play for, which will be soon with the way he's going.
-
Proud to be a Blackburn fan, sad that one has to play for one of the big four to get an full England call up, this is a trait that will only worsen under McClaren. I only watched the 1st half but saw the goals. Was it just me or was David Bentley head and shoulders above the rest of the England team in the first half. Very very proud Rover, can't imagine the media can be too happy with us stealing the limelight, let's hope for a repeat at Wemberlee to.

We are never happy us lot, I remember defending Dickov when he was here due to his work rate. However the major concensus of opinion back then was that we did not care if the guy did nowt but stick the ball in the net. Funny how it goes isn't it. I too was surprised to see Benni getting stuck in on the defensive end but he along with several other failed to do much of anything worth while. Hope we can consign that game to the bad day at the office bin. -
That would be great.
-
Why the f is Robinson in goal. From what I have seen of late that young Foster is the best keeper we have.
-
But they get almost 70K on old trafford every home game.
