  1. Hey old mate,.I'd take him in a NY minute. Not so sexy but as a football fan I respect the way you lot play. I could enjoy that as a fan. Organised, hard working, 100% commitment, sone really good attacking play very direct. I'd take him.
  2. I can not remember when I last enjoyed a game at Eeood that much. Fight hustle never giving up. Some flair amd creativity mixed in Inwas.oroud to be a Rovers fan again. As for Mowbary, I suggested it was upto the players to turn this around, to hell with ToMo. OK Tony oicked the twam but I donfeel the way we played was the players themselves pulling up their socks.rather than direction from the boss. I would live to think that this was the day the penny dropped and we are uowardly mobile from here on out. Souness had a day like that, Lee had one, Kendall had one Inwould like to think, 4 years later, that yesterday was Mowbary's but the realist in me says he'll feel job done and revert to type for the next game. Be great if we could out in that sort of performance every week. I thiught we should have had a penalty too but it's denial.seemed.to galvanise the crowd and the players and really got things stirred up. Khadra must have been told something at halftime cos he definately.was.better defensively 2nd half. Well pleased all round.
  3. Watershed game. It's up to the players this one. They need to have their own huddle, screw Mowbray and go out and fight to regain some pride. Just go out there and show us you care. Rise above Mowbray go out there and fix it, at the very least look like you are trying to. Hard to call this one, narrow win or another humuliating defeat.
  4. Maybe if we gave ours more chances instead of loanees perhaps it would look different. I think young Wharton and Carter look good, certainley promising and did they not only get a crack cos Mowbrays hand was forced somewhat. I think the way he handles our youngsters serves to break down their confidence and remove motivation.
  5. Can't quite out my finger on it but Wilder concerns me.. Like he popped his cork and only had the one pop in him. I just feel he was in the right place and situation at the right time and will never see such highs again. I think Ainsworth and Neill may be better options for us simply because I have the impression both have more of a fire in their belly. Still I have been horribly wrong on managers before.
  6. Any rumblings, whispers, tea leaf readings anywhere sugesting even ever so slighty that we may be rid of this destructive force that is Mowbary very soon. Very very soon, like before I wake up tomorrow.
  7. Is ToMo.on there? Disgusting from them two, should have left well enough alone. Maybe just maybe Butterworth's is a sneaky swipe at the incumbent regime
  8. We'll be averaging less than that this season if they don't make a change.
  9. Great post Rev. I have to echo most if that, he needed to be gone last season, he would have been anywhere else. It's almost as if he is trying to see how low he can go. The damage done by him and his mates is far reaching and deep rooted and will take a long time with a very good manager, CEO.and support staff tondig us out of. I fear for our immediate future. Just how as he got away with spunking SEVEN MILLION on an "investment" then ignoring it to where it can walk away to next to nothing. Sackable for just that.
  10. Do Venkies even know we had our worst ever home defeat? Sick
  11. Just how on earth did we manage to get this kid for nowt. What were PNE thinking? Excellent aquisition. He will get better too.
  12. Not enough about him to be a success. He will flop and in Jordan Rhodes fashion disappear i to a life of being shipped club to club. Adding his name to the long list of grass is greener ex-Rovers players, fortunately for him he will be rich enough to not have to worry much about it.
  13. The ToMo spiral to continue. ToMo tries something revolutionary to the football world, a 6ft 4in centre forward will play in the middle of the forward line rather than the usual out wide as is typical in football. Turning the football world on it's head he moves 5ft Dolan out to one of the wide positions. Crazy? I know but that's our very own Professor of footy..
  14. I just can not get my head around Venkies and their acceptance of incompetence.when it comes to "their baby". Would they really keep rewarding a Manager or senior officer of any department of their chicken operations who displayed continuous less than mediocre results. I doubt it. I just do not get it, I really don't.
  15. I did for a while. Lived a stones throw from the Crown when they started back up in 68. Was not allowed to go to Ewood alone at that tender age, had to wait another 3 years for that but I'd been a Rovers fan since 6 but had to go with an adult, Stanley I could go by meself as it was deemed safe by me mum and dad so I did not dare tell em I nearly got me head kicked in at Kirkby. Yes I often went away, on the same bus as the players such was the support. I do keep an eye on their results. Always thought my dream result would be to watch Stanley beat the Dingles playing in the same division. More danger of it actually being us now Still if I I switched my allegiance I suppose I would be a glory hunter. I am just so bloody frustrated with watching what ToMondoes week in week out and nothing happening to fix things.
  16. "Sleepwalking into oblivion". Perfect, just a perfect one line summation of BRFC. This being Mowbary's end of contract season, is it any wonder he gives less than a toss about players contracts. Would not surprise me if he plans on leaving the club in the worst shape possible for the next guy, make himself look better. Would be very wise for the Venkies to cut him loose now, even if it means DJ till seasons end. The guy is fragmenting this club, destroying players of promise (IMHO) by that I mean there seems to be a pattern where young players show promise by exciting forward thinking play and are immediately and repeatedly dropped until they become much more conservative. He's taking the piss he really is. Of course we can not be sure that Venkies can hire anyone better but something needs done to save our club. Some on here are saying we won't go down because there are worse teams when push comes to shove, on the day, us vs them needing the win I have zero confidence in Mowbary to get us over the line. "Here Harrison, if you wanna be a gud un, a proper player, then model thi self after Smallwood and Evans". Buggar me that's never left me and sums ToMo up, I thought Reed was a gud un. (Not sure why I felt the need to bring that up). I have never been closer in my 57 years of being a Rovers fan of giving up on us. C'MON Stanley. Never know.
  17. I think Kaminski did not move because he was unsighted, we backed off and backed off allowed him time to shift it and set it for his favoured foot and our only move to block was the one that blocked Kaminskis view. In my view,. credit to you for going jim, I genuinely feel bad for those that travelled. For ToMo to dismiss the fans as he left is poor.
  18. Classic Mowbary in't it?
  19. What does it take for OUR young promising players get on ahead of loanees. Young Butterworth was brought on some games back and changed the game. Has not been seen since. ToMo does this all the time. Done it with, Trav, Rothwell, Nyambe. Funny as the olayers stepped iut at half time I said to the missus, I wonder what Mowbary's told em at half time to surrender the lead. He's never going to get sacked. He is destroying this club from the inside out.
  20. I am sure panic will have set in with ToMo as we reached such heady heights. I can not see any further than loss #3 in the first death spiral if the season, can't be having that play off position shit. ToMo knows he has the "unsackable" title the Kean flirted with. I see nowt but a loss, a limp one at that.
  21. Considering BBD was signed primarily as an investment to be sold on for a big fat profit to find ourselves in this position regarding his contract is absolutely negligent. If you buy something to be sold on do you not then protect that item so as to reap maximum rewards.
  22. Mind clamping isn't Like a lot with ToMo
  23. So it is looking like by around seasons end Bill and Ben here.will have finished the job their.bosses Started, the destruction of this once proud and successful football team. Heartwrenchin and not a one of em cares.
