  1. He sounds like a switched on lad. Want a loan clause in there and he plans to study a degree alongside playing makes me think he's got his head screwed on.
  2. I never realised they were in FFP trouble. They don't seem to splash the cash and they've sold big over the years. Meanwhile united can spunk 300k a week on benchwarmers
  3. 4 is dangerous imo. You don't want to rinse ayala twice a week all season so the third choice is going to get a alot of games even if Ayala stays fit. Ayala will get injured and then all it takes is a niggle and / or suspension to Wharton / Carter and Phillips is being asked to play week in week out in a season where we should be introducing him slowly. 5 with pickering as emergency cover is the best realistic option
  4. Christ a couple of bad performances and the hysteria is off the charts! 4 wins from 6 games and the window isn't even shut yet.
  5. Which is why it's madness that people want to give him a 10k a week contract to stay
  6. If recent history is anything to go by, in 3 seasons time he will be entering the final year of his contract and we'll sell him at a discount to avoid losing him on a free.
  7. If venkys are apparently happy to lose BBD on a free why is the same not true of Phillips? Selling now is only in the interest of Spurs. Why wouldn't we hold on till January when he has 10-15 games under his belt and is potentially attracting more interest and a bidding war? Then we can lose him for the tribunal fee if that doesn't work? I know we can get the sell on clause but there's every chance he gets lost in the U23 system and released in 5 years time for nowt.
  8. With our wage structure are we really going to put him up with the top earners off the back of a couple of games? What would paying him £10-15k do to the rest of the squad? 4-5k a week more likely? (Is that what nyambe was rumoured to be on?) And whilst it's an eye watering amount at 17, it won't set him up for life. But yes, he'd be sensible to sign a pro contract now and get the protection now.
  9. From our perspective on an Internet message board it's clear that he should stay, play some first team games, show case his talent and get a big money move elsewhere. If you're in that situation though with the possibility of sealing a move that will set you and your family up for life vs staying here, things going tits up and earning peanuts before getting a job in a bar at 20.
  10. I only caught bits and pieces of the game - the new born doesn't seem to like me watching football - how bad did the injuries look?
  11. True if you're putting round pegs in round holes. Previous regimes might have put pickering in there with Edun at left back or moved one of the three centre mids back there
  12. I've said it before but if teams have to pay through the nose on loan fees or pay penalties for not playing, then we should then be entitled to sell on fee % for thar player
  13. I doubt that, he didn't get a look in during liverpools centre back crisis a couple of years ago. I don't think he's seen as genuine back up to the first team
  14. I had the very same thought as I walked round town between visiting hours, compeltely responsibility free, for the last time.
  15. A house move in September with a 1 month old sounds like a handful. Hope all is well with mum and baby now.
  16. To add to the good news, my little girl arrived via click and collect c-section this afternoon.
  17. Saw that last night and must have watched it about 6 or 7 times. Ultimate shithousery, I love it 🤣
  18. I'd like to see Phillips start, with ayala wrapped up in cotton wool at home. Then one of Wharton or garret next to morton with Markandy and Dack getting some minutes. Not that we need rotation but good to get some minutes into the legs and see what the fringe players can do.
  19. Congratulations! And a huge sigh of relief I imagine, given all that has come before.
  20. Annoyingly I dismantled an old wardrobe about 6months ago and I'm fairly sure those hinges used the screws I needed. Alas I only have a small shed and no garage so I need to be conservative with the things I hoard. I envy my dad's huge garage where, much to mums annoyance, he hasn't chucked anything out of for years but he always has the exact screw, nut, bolt, wire, plug, piece of wood etc that you need. A trait passed down from my grandad - he died last November and my dad is still clearing out his garage. Not to fear though, as always amazon has what I need on next day delivery. I would have raided my dad's stockpile of stuff but they're away this week and I, perhaps unwisely, decided to start ripping the kitchen apart when my wife could go into labour at any point. I'm on strict instructions to get it finished ASAP.
  21. https://www.screwfix.com/p/zinc-plated-hinge-screws-m6-x-10-5mm-100-pack/67259?tc=CB8&ds_kid=92700048793290424&ds_rl=1249413&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxb2XBhDBARIsAOjDZ36SkqNZXT8w2CYccMWr2IpY_1WB4VifjOYakdI7JXqdvYMUcS2_BisaAkjcEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Them but M5. Short and stubby for a kitchen cabinet I'm putting up. It's got predrilled 5mm holes for the hinges. I seem to have a million different screws of various lengths and thickness but all my 5mm ones are longer than the 20mm side of the cabinet.
  22. Not a disaster, more of an annoyance. I've been to 3 DIY shops and can't find a pack of 5mm hinge screws. 4mm and 6mm but not 5mm. To those far better at DIY than me, I'm not trying to find something stupid like tartan paint am I?
