They always say that on car park passes at Villa. The reason the game kicks off at 2pm is because when Villa played Middlesbrough last season on a Sunday they played that game at 2pm also. Maybe the locals can't adjust to different kick-off times?

It will happen, bandwidth clips have doubled since the first start of the World product, so I'm sure we'll move onto the next speed increases. PTV do collect stats on what are the speeds that the clips are being accessed so it is only a matter of time.

Hasn't made a difference in our previous three visits to Upton Park, we've scored first in all of them and ended up losing. -

Bingo If anyone wants to arrange for me not to get from the Crawley area into London on Sunday then I won't complain. -

I've missed one away game out of that lot, can you guess which one it is? Col, you also missed away cup games which we drew, drew and lost in recent years! -
Clare, currently news clips work in Firefox but Highlights and Audio no longer do so. The reason? People like 'bigfilbar8' (well not like him/her, but the people doing what he/she has suggested). PTV have implemented Microsoft's DRM package which unsurprisingly only works with MS products at this time. That shouldn't be the case Stu, you should have called them before cancelling!

I'm sure there was double the 2000 Rovers fans mentioned by the thread starter. The concrete at the Breezeblock was bouncing that night. For me my overriding memory of the game was the guy behind me in tears because he had a tenner on Rovers to win 3-1 when Hignett curled in that brilliant free-kick in the final moments of the game to make it 4-1

I don't know why you ever bother booking a room Orvil, you always sleep on the floor in the pictures I've seen.

If you haven't yet got your tickets for the game against Bolton, fans are advised to get down to the ground early to get their tickets on Sunday. Huge queues are expected at the Blackburn End ticket office as kick-off time approaches

[Archived] Financial Impact Of Group Stages
Lee replied to zigman's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Basically for a club like ours you've to reach the last 16 to make any money. We aren't preferred by TV companies (hopefully British Eurosport did well) and we don't draw big crowds, both of which are the main earners. The last 16 sees a central TV deal, which I believe ITV have paid for the rights to show. It is quite conceivable that the club could lose money on a competition like this, but the sentiment that SG194 states above is correct also, that is the hidden value. -

I'm perplexed as to why you say that, we don't get a share of revenue -

It has been pointed out to the Sports Dept of the LET how wildly inaccurate that line is. Rovers will be lucky to make £4 let alone £4m from the group stages of the competition. -
About time you posted one of these things. Did you see the feature on The Fall last week on BBC2?

Take off about 170 from that figure and you'll be closer. But fair credit to them, they did their bit. -

There are two things wrong with this thread, firstly the game was DUE to be played tomorrow night. Secondly it has been moved to November. See news item from last week -
ROVERS: Friedel, Emerton, Ooijer, Khizanishvili, Neill ©, Bentley, Tugay, Savage, Gamst, Gallagher (sub Peter 80 mins), McCarthy (sub Nonda 87 mins). Subs not used: Brown, Todd, Mokoena, Jeffers, Gray. Nolan didn't travel. Of the 20 who did, Reid and McEveley missed out.
