[Archived] Pathetic Attendance
Presty On Tour replied to Uddersfelt Blue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i dunno if this is true or not bit sometimes i reckon the attendences can affect a players performance. for me playing like local sunday pub footy usually in front of 10 or so people and a man and his dog is alright like because it's done for fun and a laugh. if i was playing a say a cup final in front of a few 100 people, it's natural you want to raise your game and play your best. could it be the same for rovers? 13k showed up, do the players think well if the fans cant be arsed can i be bothered, all those empty seats is wel bad. i know they are pro's and all but if 30k showed up tonight it would of been a different game. the atmo is better and its more support like say a 12 man. -

well good result 2night fairplay considering the poor performance we were well lucky to win 3-0! the first half was shocking, our defending was all over the shop. i reckon hughes should give the h/t team talk at the start of the match the the 2nd half was better as it was at upton park. friedel 9, take a clean sheet to your new baby, well good saves from the big guy and dominated his box. neill 7, quiet game on all accounts, done alright at the back but didn't get forward often. gray 2, shocking, got taken to the cleaners, useless in the air, has no pace, skinned many times. zurab 7, solid and stood big against the attacks. ooijer 6, lost his man a few times in the first half but improved after the break. bentley 7, played everywhere in the midfield, a threat when he had the ball. gamst 9, well good performance from the norweigan, dangerous and worked hard for the cause. savage 6, didn't look fit, pulled muscle and got subbed, a huge blow. tugay 9, take a bow son, pure quality. amazing goal and is the pass mistro! benni 7, worked hard and got his goal at the end. whinged alot tonight, a bit like bellamy used too. nonda 6, missed a sitter with a header at the keeper, dunno how fit he really was. subs axe 5, offers nothing, passing is poor, doesn't go forward and his defending was very loose. gallagher 7, should of come on when savage got injured imo, done well and set up the 3rd goal. jeffers 7, penalty supremo, if we get a pen v villa, i can see some action on the bench. 1st goal for rovers, well done. -

my buddy who is a chelsea fan said they chelsea were set to wear their black strip leading up to the game and it was only changed at the last second to their white kit by mourinho because he wanted them to look like real madrid or something along those lines? -

to be fair i more concerned with the result than the attendence. hopefully we can give the swiss rolls a pasting and eat them for dinner. super gross the spurs legend is their gaffer, i beleve when he took his spurs side to ewood they won 4-1? shocking! time to put things right tonight!!! -
i would agree with that also though i think the riverside doesn't have the facilities for a camera to be positioned there and i don't know if the stand is high enough for tv pictures?
-
1 thing i hate about the riverside stand is when everyone makes a burst for the exits after 80mins, you can see them all streaming out the sides, it's shocking! i know the room there at the front of the stand is for disabled access etc but if a new stand were to be built, i'd hope the facilities would be improved for everyone and the stand moved alot closer to the pitch. 1 thing i hate about the riverside stand is when everyone makes a burst for the exits after 80mins, you can see them all streaming out the sides, it's shocking! i know the room there at the front of the stand is for disabled access etc but if a new stand were to be built, i'd hope the facilities would be improved for everyone and the stand moved alot closer to the pitch. the reason i beleve which we've had on here before is that there are no corner stands as it allows more sun to help the condition of the grass, pitch etc.

i've seen videos of referees in punch up's but if this happened which i don't think it has before, just think of the look on the players faces? thinking about it if it ever did happen, the 4th official would have to replace the referee most probs? -

a fiver, that is well cheap, another good deal by rovers. hopefully we will have a half decent attendence on thursday, around the low 20k? -
i've only played against mates so far but i find if on stats they are a better team and they have pace in their side it's well hard to defend against and the roll of the ball always goes their way!!!

fairplay to drogba, the bloke took his goal well. mourinho's celebrations were funny, i can imagine hughes unfolding those arms and doing a klinsmann dive down the villa touchline, celebrating a winner from tugay!!! -

im sure last season we used to have 2 players on the line covering each post, why the change? -
i'm planning to watch saw 3 later this week. from the reviews looks another quality script and movie. fairplay you must have some imagination to write those films.

zurab had a free header from a corner against whu, got underneath it and there was nobody within 5 yards of him. the last time we were a threat from corners was when we had a defender who was in love with the treatment table and had a sicknote for the season, italian stallion amoruso was powering headers in the net. -

i fancy us in europe, a win and we are through. after sundays dissapointment and hopefully the return of some key players i would start with: friedel bert mk2 oiijer zurab neill bentley savage tugay gamst derbyshire benni emerton and gamst should return and fairplay they was missed against the irons. with nonda(doubtfull) and roberts(out). jeffers looked ######, gallagher or my choice, the local lad derbyshire given a chance up front with benni. 1-0 ooijer -
fairplay sundays defeat was shocking! marks out of 10 friedel(7) his mind really was not 100% on the game with his wife due to give birth, made some good saves though and didn't have much chance with the goals. gray(2) awful, not premiership standard imo, how many times did he get caught out, skinned and beaten in the air. should of started jay. zurab(7) exposed for the sheringham goal, missed a chance from a corner, average performance. ooijer(7) great tackle on etherington by the touchline, kept zamora quiet. neill(6) below par imo, we missed bert mk 2 down the right!!! bentley(7) took his goal well, quiet game though by his standards. peter(7) done well though wasteful with some set pieces. the young lad tried hard. axe(3) awful in the middle, was running around without a clue. cant pass 10 yards and had a mare all game. tugay(8) class act again, our best player by a mile. benni(7) great turns, flicks and movement. needs a better strike partner. roberts(4) didn't do alot before getting injured. jeffers(4) done ok in some periods but didn't look up for it and missed his chance at the end, could have been a hero. gallagher(6) done well comming off the bench, caused a few problems and should of started the game. jay(5) didn't have alot to do but should of played instead of gray. with gamst, reid, nelsen, bert mk 2, roberts, nonda out injured and with savage susspended, we looked well under strengthed though should of won with 15 attempts on goal. give derbyshire and gallagher their chances in the side, its time to play the youth.
