  1. While Rovers TV sorts itself out (or not) I'm listening to this - https://www.expressfm.com/programmes/pompeylive/ UPDATE - Not working now.
  2. Well I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I'm expecting a flood of goals tonight. We will sweep away the opposition and their hopes of getting anything from the game other than a damn good thrashing will have been flushed down the drain by half time. In the second half, the Rovers tide will once again be unstoppable and, unless another freak tropical monsoon hits Ewood Park like it did last Saturday, we'll be floating free of the relegation zone by 10:00 pm. Hope all those going have a splashing time.
  3. I don't think De Neve or Gueye are good enough at the moment. They aren't being given enough time on the pitch for them to have a hope of turning things around, and when they do come on it is all too often towards the very end of a tight match when the rest of the team are tiring and unable to cover for their mistakes. Also Gueye is one of the laziest players we have had in a while. We should loan them both out to Division 1 clubs for at least half a season so they can get some proper game time, and then reassess at the end of the loan period. Pleased to see Cantwell back last night, and we have some real quality in Gudjohnsen, Alebiosu, Tronstad, Morishita and Toth. Ohashi works hard but lacks a decent finish, and I've yet to be impressed by Ribeiro and Tavares. Defensively we're not terrible but, as others have pointed out, there are better options on the bench than De Neve when we need to swap out our left back. As for Ismael, he's in a difficult position if his hands are tied with respect to which members of his squad he can and cannot field. Ultimately, the solution to that lies with the club's management and ownership. Both of whom, frankly, don't appear to give a crap.
  4. Championship winner: Blackburn Rovers Runner-up: Ipswich Semi-finalists: Sheffield United, Norwich, Leicester, WBA Relegated: Sheffield Wednesday, Hull, Preston Rovers finish: 1st First manager to go: Ismael, Rovers PL winners: Liverpool Wild card: After losing the first four games of the 2025/6 season, Valerian Ismael is sacked. BRFC fans turn on Rovers management like never before. In a surprising development they are bought out by Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Pep Guardiola is appointed manager. Mysteriously, ways are found around the fair play rules, and by the end of the January window the first team squad consists of the following: David Raya, Virgil Van Dijk, Alessandro Bastoni, Daniel Munoz, Lewis Hall, Jude Bellingham, Luca Modric, Bruno Fernandes, Julian Alvares, Victor Gyokeres and Kylian Mbappe. Unsurprisingly. Rovers win every single remaining game of the season and are crowned champions, being promoted to the Premiership, where they will win the title for the next 5 years. Nurse, is it time for my medication yet?
  5. We've been here before. Some fans threatening to protest, but never enough to grab the headlines or, more importantly, affect the ownership, management or general running down of the club. Last time I called for protests on here I was told it would put the club's future in jeopardy. Some future! I'm saddened by recent events, and the possibility of reaching the playoffs cruelly taken away by incompetent owners and management who have no real wish to see the club returned to the first tier of English football. They know all too well that it would put the club back in the mainstream media spotlight and show, with glaring clarity, their failings and unsuitability to own and run a professional football club. So I bet they're loving it right now. Eustace gone, poor manager in, squad demoralised, absolutely no chance of being in the playoffs, let alone promoted. Job done boys, roll on next season. I didn't renew my season ticket last year and I certainly won't be doing it this time around. I may go to a few home games if the weather is fair and I have nothing better to do. But that's it. Such a shame.
  6. Excellent result. Great team performance.
  7. Excited for this one. Think we will win 2-1. If Pears plays he's bound to leak a goal but it may be too soon for Eustace to put Toth to the test.
  8. The Sanjeev Narula stadium on Sanjeev Narula Way, surely.
  9. 2-1. Yuki and Andy Weimann. Their goal an absolute howling mistake by Pears.
  10. Rovers TV, sort your shit out. Can barely hear your commentators today.
  11. He'll be gone by the start of next season. Probably the only way to keep the lights on at Ewood Park for a few more months, given today's news from India.
  12. Could be a problem - the fixture list was published on 22nd June last year......
  13. I don't know whether to be overjoyed at this latest development or or seriously depressed. On the one hand, it could hasten the end of Venkys' ownership of the club, either by sale or administration, followed by regeneration under new ownership. On the other it could be the beginning of the end - receivership, followed by winding up, expulsion from the EFL, , sale of remaining assets to pay creditors and formal winding up. Or, as I suspect, Venkys will stubbornly hold on for as long as they can, dragging the club down into League 2 via League 1 next season or the one after, until there's very little left for someone else to build on. On balance, I think "f**ked" adequately sums it up. Hope I'm wrong.

  15. Looking at our remaining games I am firmly of the opinion that we need to win tonight and again on Saturday to stand a realistic chance of avoiding relegation. Here's hoping......
  16. How about next match free when if we lose this one?
  17. Get well soon Tony. Your health is more important than football.
  18. Best we can hope for is that the Indian judges don't agree to Venky's sending any more money then? Which inevitably leads straight to administration when the bills can't be paid.
  19. Sady we've tried that before and it didn't work. (anybody remember the chicken on the pitch?) I think the only way forward now is administration. Anything we can do to hasten this, such as significant media interest coupled with the threat of ever-worsening ticket sales, could help. Boycotting doesn't sit well with me either, but the longer we as fans continue to tip over our hard earned cash to these clowns, the longer the agony will be prolonged.
  20. Most effective thing, given the match is on TV, would be if nobody turned up at the ground to watch. Can't see this happening though.
  21. Make that two. Had enough!
  22. Optimism - We might not go down Pessimism - We might not stay up Reality - Our owners are shite
  23. I wish to complain. In the strongest possible terms. 4-0? What does JDT think he's doing? He'll be playing people in their natural positions next. This wouldn't have happened under Mowbray, much less Ince, Kean and Coyle. This is what happens when you get ambitious young managers in - years of patiently built mediocrity gone to waste. Players having to be fit, having to compete for a place in the first team? I ask you. And, to cap it all, fans going away happy. It's just not on. Venkys must be livid - this will have put back their masterplan to turn Ewood Park into a chicken farm months, if not years. Get a grip Rovers! In all seriousness, well done to JDT and his team for bringing the hope back to Ewood, and to the squad for stepping up to the new challenge. Haven't felt as positive as this since Sam Allardyce took over the managership after the Paul Ince debacle. Please Venkys, don't screw it up again. ,
  24. So happy at this news. Be even happier when he signs on the dotted line.
  25. 2-1 win. Brereton to get a brace.
