  1. I’d be embarrassed if Amarii Bell made that tackle. Ridiculous from Dier.
  2. Fair, that kind of regulation works both ways for us all. Oh to live in a world where we could be confident the people representing us genuinely had our best interests at heart. Wish these super-franchise-mega-clubs wouldn’t bother with these stop gaps, leave us alone, and get their closed shop Super League over with.
  3. Tbh I really wouldn’t want to open the door to the Tories having a say in the football industry. That rule is there for a reason, even if it is a blessing and a curse.
  4. Who even is the big 6 now? I missed the memo that put Spurs above the likes of Everton/Barcodes/Spam/Villa “Pushing Leicester all the way a bit that once” has done wonders for their standing in the game.
  5. Absolutely @joey_big_nose, THIS government would NEVER allow the monopolisation of one of our most precious and valuable industries for the benefit of the super rich. Just don’t see it ??? Great post there @Stuart. Radical ideas, love it.
  6. Fingers crossed he washed it
  7. That would say more about Man U than him. Game of opinions, but I must’ve watched him 5-10 times, on telly, when drinking, and I’ve decided to write the kid off. As is the way ?
  8. Maybe a bit harsh with the Burton Albion comment ? But seen nothing that makes me think he’ll be a top player at all. Apart from the team he plays for.
  9. If he comes here, I hope you’re right, But imo - if he wasn’t Utd youth he’d be a Burton Albion player at best. I’ll stake my non-existent reputation on it!
  10. Exactly. I was having daydreams of Mowbray lemon drizzle-charming Klopp and getting the pick of Liverpool reserves in perpetuity after the two friendlies recently. So why don’t they just do it under the radar and more amicably/respectfully like this? Build relationships? Support local clubs and wider communities? Develop players? Because the super clubs aren’t football clubs now. They’re multinational corporations and have priorities as such. It isn’t about developing home-grown players and propping up the EFL. It’s about monopolisation, it’s about controlling more and more assets, about eating into a potential customer base and is propelled by the pathological need for constant expansion and constant growth. Kill your competitors - the big money mantra. PL clubs just can’t understand what makes football culture in this country so special, and they really don’t care, in fact they actually despise it’s market share. So B-teams, from a purely big business standpoint, are highly, highly, desirable and we won’t hear the last of this until they fuck off into a Euro league. But if a slave owning super club enters the English football pyramid as a complete entity with their overpaid kids and mercenary reserves then I really think that I’d be totally done with league football as a whole. Suspect I’m not alone.
  11. It’s maintenance. You budget for it, or you should do. The club will spend multiple hundreds of thousands on PR and marketing but then neglect this? It all plays a part. It’s just so nonsensical. You could make a real difference to Ewood for a couple of grand. Just do SOMETHING. Be seen to do SOMETHING. Ideally you would employ staff and management teams that would tackle weeds and litter outside their workplace themselves without being told. I let a lot wash with being a dyed in the wool happy-clapper... But a lack of standards at the stadium and at workplaces in general is usually a very worrying red flag. When I’m CEO lads, I’ll be cleaning it up meself for the cynical PR brownie points ? But also because I have a basic level of self respect.
  12. Apathy is a drip down phenomenon.
  13. A better time would’ve been last week ?
  14. Good work Chads I expect it will eventually land on local fans to pick up the slack - but it really shouldn’t come to this. Keep your shop fronts immaculate - business 101.
  15. Disagree. They’ve got a squad with a lot of quality and two weeks on the training ground with Hughton will make them a force to be reckoned with, I’d take the point right now - they’ll rocket up the table.
  16. I don’t think anyone could really believe or rationalise it - that was the last line of logical defence. Turns out the lad is like Paul McKenna to football coaches. Seen better players today in the 7th tier than Lowe in his prime.
  17. At least there’s no away fans about. It matters to me how we are perceived in the wider world of football. I have pride in the team and who we are and our historic home being left to rack and ruin pisses me off no end. It’s so simple and cheap to sort that it just exposes the chronic lack of care and competence at the very highest level of the club. I have defended Waggott a lot. I know what goes into a career at an executive level - how you are always the fall guy for difficult decisions and none of your everyday good work is seen. But if he walks into work every day past that unacceptable mess and doesn’t think it needs sorting then he needs fucking therapy.
  18. Yup. He’s shite. Bell is better.
  19. I’ve probably mentioned before about being stuck on a flight from the US in the middle of the Man Utd u-17s squad and staff. An absolute shitshow of selfish, entitled, disrespectful, arrogant billy big bollockses making life hell for flight crew and passengers alike. And that was just the staff. Makes me all the more proud when we see our kids come through and they seem like good eggs that fit in well with the honest values and team spirit that we have.
  20. The elusive and permanently ouchie-toed Corry Evans may have to risk his wildly successful international career to help us out. Big BJ is hard as feck n’all. Corry’s arm would’ve fallen off.
  21. He had a scrap with my mate outside Cuisine World in Accy. Great days. Fantastic footballer, world class boozer. To further derail the thread I think that Chris Samba would’ve got into most teams in Europe at his peak for us. Monster. Hopefully not. Every time I’ve seen him he’s been diabolical.
  22. Basically, looks like we’re signing the greatest keeper in the world.
  23. Joe Lolley is a £10m + player What time did you lot start on the cans?
  24. First half I was saying Rothwell needs to start shooting. He skips into space on the edge of the box and dithers. Second half I was saying Rothwell needs to PRACTICE shooting.
  25. Tough game. Tough conditions. We never really got going. Part of me thinks we would have contrived to lose that one last year. Frustrating and things to work on. Will take the point I suppose ?
